The Beast Tamer Is A Slime

Chapter 41: “Ten-men Encirclement”

The surrounding crowds immediately burst into an uproar.

"Damn! That's a lot of money! You will be able to live happily for the rest of your life without having to work anymore!"

"If I could get that much money, even if exploring dungeons is exciting, I will definitely not want to become a hunter anymore..."

"Why is that slime so precious? Does anyone know?"

"Check your phone! Check the internet! This slime has completely gone viral on many platforms."

"Is this true or not? A slime who can use the system's special effects?"

"Whether it is true or not, once the Okko Family's third young master tries to buy it, its value has been determined!"

And the Okko Family definitely had money to contract the slime in a legal way, so that the government couldn't interfere.

"In my opinion, if you love your pet, you should sell it. If you keep it out of selfishness, one day, the government will catch your pet and kill it."

Maybe the slime would also suffer from a torture that was more painful than death.

If a slime could feel pain, of course.

But the young master's words hit both Charlie and Neo's pain points.

They knew that Neo absolutely couldn't be given to anyone else, because Charlie and John's lifeline was in Neo's hand.

Once Neo was contracted to another person, the two hunters would automatically become the slaves of that person.

Being a slave to a slime was still much better than being a slave to a human!

Neo himself was unwilling to be sold like a commodity, nor did he want to end up on an operating table of some random mad scientists!

Neo had never realised how weak he was and how dangerous it was to be so eye-catching yet powerless to even decide his fate.

This powerlessness drove Neo's nerve, making him anxious and couldn't help but call John through telepathy.

[Big hooman, where are you?! We are in deep trouble! Quickly come to this XXX place! Either we fight or we run!]

Neo was frantically calling John without being able to use the "summon beast" function to avoid even more controversy, while Charlie was facing Jaime with trembling calves.

But instead of speaking, the boy chose to remain silent.

Even after the young master persuaded him with various words, the boy remained silent until the end.

Jaime had never had much patience, and after repeatedly hitting a "wall" here, he finally lost his temper.

"It's okay if you don't want to sell it, but don't blame me if you accidentally lost your pet!"

The young master held the basketball-sized adult slime with one hand and waved his other hand.

The next second, the ten bodyguards immediately walked closer to Charlie, all with menacing auras.

Neo and Charlie, who were both somewhat sensitive to people's aura and strength, almost trembled on the spot.

Something is wrong! These bodyguards aren't F-rank at all.

At least, many of them are F+ rank, just like John, and there were two to four bodyguards who were E-rank hunters!

Neo had never seen an E-rank hunter before, not even during Tom's commotion.

Why would E-rank hunters bow their head and work for an F-rank young master?

They could leave this World District and go to a higher-level district!

Neo and Charlie finally realized how serious the situation was, but it was too late.

The six F+ ranks hunters had already approached Charlie with stern faces, closing in the circle.

The four E-rank hunters left the encirclement and crowded around the young master, but they looked like they were ready to use skills to attack from a distance.

Charlie subconsciously took a few steps back while covering his chest pocket with his palm.

He got closer and closer to the stall, which used a living slime as a display, but there were already three F+ rank hunters behind, blocking his path.

John was already rushing to their side, but the crowd made it difficult for him to arrive on time.

What to do? What to do??

Charlie broke into a cold sweat, and Neo also rubbed his tiny hands tremblingly, but he quickly calmed down instead.

[Smol hooman, if you use your Shadow Steps skill, can you run out of the encirclement?]

Neo started to think of countermeasures and among Charlie's various skills, the one he felt was the most useful is [Shadow Steps].

However, Charlie answered Neo with a depressed voice.

[I-I can use it, but that skill is just for running fast and will slow me down when there are many obstacles ahead…]

Neo immediately thought of using the [Attack Is The Best Defense] skill he got from John to forcefully open a gap to let Charlie leave, but when he checked the skill's detail…

It only worked one-on-one, not one-on-six!

Neo had no choice but to use that one embarrassing skill he had.

[Smol hooman, I'll use a skill to affect these six people.]

Neo took a deep breath as he watched the six people getting closer and closer, only two meters away from Charlie.

Their hands were all stretched to the boy's chest pocket, wanting to rob a slime blatantly.

[This skill will give you a split second of chance. Then, you have to immediately run away with [Shadow Steps], got it?]

Charlie listened to Neo's series of commands and immediately obeyed.

He carefully observed the six people around them, waiting for Neo to create a chance so that he could activate the [Shadow Steps] skill in time.

Just right after Neo said that, he didn't hesitate to use the only skill that he could use multiple times without any cooling down period.

DING! [Cub's Cry] skill is activated!

A white light instantly enveloped Neo's body in Charlie's chest pocket, and a familiar pink swaddle quickly covered the slime cub's entire body.

Before the six hunters and other people could react at the white halo, Neo's deafening and high-pitched milky cry had already sounded throughout the small encirclement!

*CHI- CHIII!! CHI! CHIIIIIIII— "
