Chapter 8: Chapter 8: Hey, What’s Your Name?
'If this child is truly alone, how can they survive? How does this child manage finances or meet basic needs?'
Reiji thought there might be monthly assistance from the Uzushio Village for orphans training at the Ninja Academy, or perhaps the owner of this body had saved up and hidden money in some corner of this house.
But all of that was just speculation.
After finishing his meal, Reiji returned to the living room.
Though tired, Reiji knew that time was something not to be wasted.
With only one week to build strength, Reiji felt he had to seize every opportunity available. 'In this world, only the strong can survive. I have no choice but to keep moving forward.'
Returning to his training, Reiji started again with the exercise of sticking leaves to his forehead.
Now, after several attempts, Reiji succeeded with one leaf, then he added two, three, and even four.
Each addition brought a small but meaningful sense of pride.
As the leaves stuck longer, Reiji felt increasingly confident that he could adapt to this body.
This exercise might be simple for experienced shinobi, but for Reiji, it was the beginning of something greater.
Reiji began to smile slightly, feeling satisfaction in each of his small achievements.
What seemed trivial to others became the foundation of new strength for Reiji.
Past midnight, Reiji gazed at the mirror with a face full of leaves, the result of his training in chakra control.
A small smile appeared on Reiji's face as he realized he had made significant progress in a short time.
After Reiji was satisfied with his training results, he removed the leaves and felt the fatigue that finally caught up with him.
Reiji decided to sleep, feeling that his body and mind were ready for greater challenges the next day.
...
...
...
The next morning, Reiji woke up feeling refreshed, took a deep breath of the morning air, and immediately began a series of physical exercises: push-ups, sit-ups, pull-ups, and squat jumps, each one hundred times, followed by a ten-kilometer run around the village.
The sun was high in the sky when he finished his workout, and Reiji's body was drenched in sweat, his muscles felt tense but satisfied.
Reiji returned home, panting, then cleaned himself up, changed clothes, and prepared for breakfast.
However, before he could prepare anything, there was a knock at the door.
Reiji paused for a moment, wondering who would come so early.
He didn't feel worried, as Uzushio Village was known to be safe and neutral.
Reiji then walked towards the door and opened it.
Standing before Reiji was Karina, along with a little girl with long red hair.
The girl looked charming with a bright smile and was wearing a bright yellow kimono that gave a warm impression.
"Karina? What's up?" Reiji asked, confused but happy to see them.
Karina sighed while looking at Reiji with a shaking head, "Did you forget? Oh my! Your memory is worse than an old person's, Reiji!" Karina said in an annoyed tone.
Karina extended a tiered lunchbox filled with various delicious-looking foods that still seemed warm, fragrant, and tempting. "I came to deliver breakfast!"
"Eh?" Reiji was taken aback, staring at the lunchbox that had suddenly appeared before him.
"Here!" Karina handed over the lunchbox without further ado, then stepped into Reiji's house without asking for permission.
"Hey!" Reiji tried to stop Karina, but she had already rushed in confidently.
Reiji could only let out a long sigh, holding back a tired smile at Karina's behavior.
When he turned around, Reiji found the little girl still standing at the door, observing him with a sharp yet cute gaze.
"Hey, what's your name?" Reiji asked with a slight smile, trying to greet the girl warmly.
