Chapter 1006: Enlightement.
Shi Lang followed the young monk through the woods silently. He could not imagine how much resolve it would need for the kid to walk through the forest this dense and brutal. The ground was covered with dew and moss, and the tree bark looked nothing less than sharp barbs.
The Terran also noticed a few poisonous insects moving around but they all avoided the young monk who walked with a smile on his face. Shi Lang wondered what kind of personage would back such a young and talented monk. The most heartwarming thing about the Young monks character was the pure heartedness he had, this was a monk worth Shi Lang's respect.
Buddhism was not about telling the truth to the world but it was about not lying to oneself. Shi Lang admired the values of this young monk and looked forward to seeing the master who enlightened the child.
After an hour on foot, they reached a wall of round stones, and Shi Lang sensed a cave entrance behind the wall, and watched as the young monk walked around the wall and then behind it. Shi Lang did not go in, and said, "Little master, I will wait here, please inform your master that I have come here."
Little monk moved inside the cave and came back after a few moments. He bowed to the Terran and took him inside the cave. Shi Lang waved his hand and the spiritual energy condensed in a blob, illuminating the dark cave. The little monk was surprised but did not say anything.
In the core of the cave, Shi Lang spotted a flower bulb as big as a basketball swaying gently on the vine. The color of the leaves was crimson red, with yellow lines running along the length. Shi Lang took a deep breath and said, "Greetings, so you are the master behind this Little Master."
The flower swayed and then the bulb tilted to face Shi Lang. After a moment, the flower slowly lowered itself and the leaves shivered. Shi Lang raised his brow as he sensed the spiritual energy vibrate and enter his ears. The Terran smiled and took out a vial of pills as he said, "You do not have to follow me, Mandala. You can use these pills and grow faster. Your attainments in the path of Buddhist Dao are needed to stabilize the entire Buddhist Path."
The flower leaves shivered again, and Shi Lang smiled and replied, "You will know what is the truth when you assume a form more apt for travelling. Make the world your book, and read the people like a text. You will become stronger and wiser then. These are the pills that will help you amass enough spiritual energy to create a human body for yourself."
The mandala shivered and Shi Lang replied, "I will leave a means to contact me with the Little master."
That said, Shi Lang walked out of the cave and the Little master followed him. The Terran took out a small basic communicator and told the Young monk how to use it. Then he gave the young monk a few books for Buddhist Arts cultivation, and pills for energy purification.
The young monk hesitated and shook his head but Shi Lang told him that this is a favor and the Young monk would return it in the future. Shi Lang then left the place quickly and began his task of locating and enlightening the monks.
In the next three days, he moved through seven cities. The efficiency was crazy high, but the moment he came across the mega city, he was shocked.
The city was called Saber Mountain, it was the tallest mountain that Shi Lang had ever seen in his life. He took a deep breath looking at the behemoth, and when he began to trek along the pathway to the summit, his senses picked up a city that was thrice as big as the Asura Hall.
Asura Hall was spread through a few hundred miles. Shi Lang came to the city gates and found a couple of stern looking guards. He presented his Warring token and the identity card. The guards were surprised and one of them asked, "Senior, where did you come from?"
Shi Lang smiled and replied, "Does it matter where we come from, and where we go?"
The guards were surprised, and Shi Lang tilted his head as he said, "I have been travelling for a long time, I am no longer a citizen of a certain place."
His cryptic words were something the guards could not understand. The Terran was let inside the city with just one direction and that was to not kill anyone there.
The Terran sighed as he went inside. He found that the city was very well organized, there were industrial complexes, markets, and residential areas, all built in an organized manner. Shi Lang was surprised, and the place was very neat and clean. Another thing that shocked him was the way people were commuting through the streets.
They were moving in different lanes, and Shi Lang thought that he had come to the prehistoric version of the Federation. He moved around and located an inn. The young man found a group of guards walking around, maintaining order around the city. He sat down in a city and took a seat outside a tavern. A teenage waitress walked over and asked, "Sir, what would you like to have?"
Shi Lang took out a spirit stone and said, "Little sister, please bring me a kettle of the best tea that you have."
The waitress smiled and asked, "Yes, sir."
Shi Lang passed her the spirit stone, and the girl skipped away. The Terran observed the place and he could not find anything odd at all. The little waitress walked over slowly with the kettle and cup. She even took the initiative to serve him a cup and asked, "Sir, you seem to be looking at something. Could I be of help?"
Shi Lang thought about it and asked, "Little sister, I have been seeing many monks in different cities, preaching and praising the way of the buddha. However, there is not any in the city. Why is that?"
The little waitress replied, "Sir, that would be because of our City Governess. Our lady is a strong character and she believes that humans should believe in themselves and live a life filled with dignity. Thus, the monks who came in trying to sway the people who are working hard and thriving to achieve something, she kicked them out and none of them is allowed to step inside again."
Shi Lang took a sip of the tea and said, "Your governess sure is an admirable person. The world needs more of such people. Well, Little sister, thank you for helping. Can you tell me where the Governess can be found?"
The waitress nodded and replied, "Sir, you can go to the city center, and that is where you can find the governess."
Shi Lang nodded and paid the bill to walk away. He walked through the streets with his hands behind his back. There were many people, but he did not see anyone above the Dao King realm. He used the nano drones to record everything and the footage was directly uploaded to the Asura Hall servers.
The Terran soon reached the city center and found a magnificent palace, however, under the ability to sense he found that the place was akin to an office. There were many people moving around handling different things. Shi Lang could see everything with great detail now, and his spatial perception was also increasing at a steady pace.
…
He walked up to the gates of the palace and found a guard scanning him with spiritual energy. The Terran cooperated with the check and the guard said, "Senior, can you please put on this restriction stone ring?"
Shi Lang asked, "Is it to prevent the strong people from causing trouble inside?"
The guard nodded and Shi Lang, being the great forging grandmaster that he was, took hold of the ring and put it on after scanning it. He went inside the building and found a reception counter right through the entrance. The young man walked over and asked, "Hello, would it be possible to meet with the Governess?"
The lady raised her head with a smile and asked, "Sir, can you tell me what is the purpose of your visit?"
Shi Lang nodded and said, "Trade proposal."
The lady replied, "You can meet with the Trade Executive for that."
Shi Lang sighed and then he took out his Alchemist Token, and said, "My name is registered on the Dao Forging Stele, I am Shi Lang. The trade that I wish to discuss with your Governess cannot be handled by anyone else. I come from the eastern continent. I hope you can pass on my word to her."
The lady was shocked by these claims, she quickly nodded and said, "I will pass it to her, please wait in the lobby, if she permits, I will inform you, Senior."
