Chapter 38:

Chapter 38: Hero Saves the Damsel in Distress! Daughters Call Him Dad:

Before they arrived, the twins had no particular feelings about the amusement park, but they were having a blast by the end of the day. The day passed slowly, and before they knew it, the sun was setting.

“I’m going to buy some water…” Xu Hao glanced in a certain direction and then made an excuse to leave.

The sisters waited for Xu Hao to return. By now, any sense of distance they felt from him had completely disappeared, and the distance between them was gradually fading.

Aside from not yet calling him ‘Dad,’ their relationship was like any other father and daughter.

“Sis, you deny being scared, but let’s see how you keep up that tough talk in front of me from now on,” Xu Huayi teased her sister Xu Shiqing as they reminisced about their day at the amusement park.

“Stop it. Tell me, when did you see me scared?” Xu Shiqing retorted, unwilling to let her little sister think less of her.

“You weren’t scared? Then why did you grab his hand? Don’t think I didn’t see it. It was just like a frightened daughter looking for her father’s protection,” Xu Huayi said with a smug smile, feeling like she had seen through everything.

“You…” Xu Shiqing’s eyes widened, and her face turned a deep red with embarrassment and anger. Then, her eyes shifted, and she regained her composure with a cold smile. “And you have the nerve to say that? Weren’t you the one holding his hand tightly on the pendulum ride?”

“That was because he grabbed mine,” Xu Huayi shot back.

“Really? Then, can you explain why you were smiling so happily? And—”

“I don’t care, I don’t care. I’m braver than you,” Xu Huayi interrupted, resorting to childish antics to stop her sister from mentioning her own embarrassing actions.

As the sisters argued, a mocking voice interrupted them. “Hey there, what are you two lovely ladies talking about? Care to share the joke with us?”

The sisters instantly fell silent, recognizing the hostile tone.

They turned their heads, and saw five or six young men with brightly dyed hair and chaotic outfits approaching. They had piercings in their ears and noses, exuding a punkish, intimidating vibe.

“Pretty ladies, we’ve been watching you for a while. We just wanted to come over and be friends,” one of the youths said, tossing his hair back and offering what he thought was a charming smile as he extended his hand for a handshake.

The sisters didn’t even glance at his hand and stared coldly at them instead.

“Haha, Long Hair, is this your pickup technique? You’re going to make us laugh to death. How could those beauties be interested in you?” one of the punks mocked, causing the Long Hair guy to withdraw his hand in embarrassment and anger.

“Don’t be scared. We mean no harm, just want to invite you for a meal,” another punk tried to reassure them, but the sisters continued to ignore them, exchanging glances to find a way out. The parking lot was deserted at this dinner hour, making escape difficult.

“Come on, beauties. At least respond to us. Don’t be so ungrateful…” The youth’s tone turned threatening as he continued.

“Are you guys brain-dead or something? Can’t see a pretty girl without harassing her?” Xu Shiqing snapped, trying to stay calm.

The green-haired youth stepped forward, pushing his companions aside. “Let’s cut the crap. Are you coming with us willingly, or do we have to tie you up?” he sneered.

“I advise you not to try anything stupid. You can’t handle the consequences,” Xu Shiqing warned coldly.

The green-haired youth hesitated for a moment but then laughed. “Consequences? Who do you think you are? Do you really think that guy you were with earlier can save you?”

The punks often hunted for targets in the amusement park.

Today, a friend introduced them to this beautiful pair of sisters. Seeing the twins with Xu Hao filled them with envy and jealousy. Due to Xu Hao’s youthful appearance, they couldn’t imagine he was their father.

Hearing the punks’ comments, the sisters’ faces flushed with a mix of embarrassment and anger at the misunderstanding.

“Come with us. We’ll take good care of you,” one of the punks said impatiently, stepping closer with a malicious grin.

Xu Shiqing and Xu Huayi backed away, and their hearts pounded with fear and anxiety.

The sound of footsteps approached just then. Xu Hao appeared, holding a few bottles of water he had retrieved from his space.

Seeing his daughters cornered, his face ‘changed dramatically.’ He rushed forward and stood protectively in front of them.

Seeing Xu Hao rush to their defense, the sisters felt a surge of emotion. Their despair melted away, replaced by a profound sense of security.

“Dad, there are many of them. Be careful…” Xu Shiqing said, worried for Xu Hao’s safety. Although he was the CEO of a billion yuan company, these thugs wouldn’t care about his status.

Xu Huayi also looked at Xu Hao with concern. “Be careful, Dad…”

Standing in front of them, Xu Hao’s face remained impassive, but he was delighted inside. He had been planning this hero-rescue scenario to strengthen their bond.

Seeing that his daughters were now calling him ‘Dad,’ he knew his plan had worked perfectly.

His expression turned cold, and his gaze dangerous. These punks had outlived their usefulness.
