Becoming the Strongest as a Game Dev

Chapter 32: Chapter 32

I'll still be writing my current Game Dev novel, but I want to gather opinions on creating a new one.

1. Creating Video Games in a Dungeon

MC is reborn as a dungeon master. Instead of creating a dungeon to kill adventurers, he creates a dungeon to gather adventurers to play video games.

2. Magitech

Standard reincarnation, where MC is born into a poor family and discovers a newly created technology called Magitech. He uses Magitech to create video games and other entertainment.

3. Making my Disciples Video Game characters

MC is strong/weak but looks strong; he has a system that gives character templates. The catch is that he can't have a character template. MC gathers people to become his followers and trains them to become the characters to which the template is given.

4. NPC Revolution

MC creates his own video game and notices that all of his NPCs are becoming sentient. He can gain powers and items in the world if the NPCs give enough devotion to the MC.

5. Avatar Crafter

A modern setting where the MC can create characters to summon them into the real world, but he finds out he is not the only one who has the same ability. MC then uses his powers to help stop other Avatar Crafters. (Similar premise to the show Hero Inside)

Sam is surrounded by a crowd of eager onlookers, all clamoring to speak with him. Hunters, fellow developers, business owners, and even government officials bombard him with questions, their curiosity palpable.

"How did you come up with the idea for Devil May Cry?" one Huntress asks, her eyes shining with excitement.

"What inspired you to create such a complex and immersive world?" a developer chimes in, his brow furrowed in concentration.

Sam feels overwhelmed, his gaze darting from one face to the next. He opens his mouth to respond, but the words catch in his throat.

Suddenly, Gail steps forward, her presence commanding the attention of the crowd. "Thank you all for your interest in Genesis," she says, her voice firm yet polite. "If you have any questions, please direct them to me, and I'll be happy to assist you."

Sam lets out a quiet sigh of relief as Gail gently guides him away from the group and towards a nearby balcony. Once they're out of earshot, he turns to her, his expression grateful.

Sam turns to Gail, a relieved smile on his face. "Thank you for getting me out of there," he says, his voice tinged with gratitude. "I'm still getting used to all of this."

Gail nods, her expression understanding. "I know it can be overwhelming," she says, her tone reassuring. "But you've earned this, Sam. You should be proud of what you've accomplished."

Sam runs a hand through his hair, letting out a small chuckle. "I'm just not used to being the center of attention like this," he admits. "It's a lot to take in."

Gail places a hand on Sam's shoulder. "You better get used to it. If you keep creating better simulations in the future, you can expect more people wanting to meet you."

Sam sighs, his brow furrowed. "I'm not looking forward to it, Gail. I just want to create simulations. I can sense that most of those people have other plans for me, and not necessarily the good kind." He shifts his gaze, his eyes darkening with unease.

Sam felt a wave of gratitude wash over him as Gail's words sank in. "It's normal for people to have their own agendas. You just need to figure out which ones are beneficial and which are harmful." She gave him an encouraging smile. "But don't worry, if you ever need any help, don't be shy. Just give me a call, alright?"

"Thank you, Gail. I don't know what I'd do without your support," Sam replied, returning her smile. His unease started to dissipate as he felt the weight of her reassuring presence.

"That is my job. I am your manager, after all," Gail said, her tone warm and steadfast. Sam nodded, appreciating the stability she provided in the midst of the overwhelming attention he was facing.

Sam and Gail heard footsteps behind them. "Are you Genesis?" the voice asked, its tone a bit grave.

Sam turned to find a man in a sharp black suit and tie, with a vibrant red shirt. His dark, somewhat messy, shoulder-length hair and striking purple eyes gave him a striking, almost predatory appearance.

"My name is Adder Foley. But you might know me as Caliban!" the man said proudly.

Sam's eyes widened in recognition. "You're Caliban? Wow, it is so nice to meet you. I played your simulation, Night Raid, and it was really good! It was unique in its own way and was very fun!"

Adder was not expecting this reaction from Genesis. "Huh, I guess you have a good eye," he replied, a hint of surprise in his voice.

Sam smiled warmly. "I was really impressed by the way you blended the modern setting with the fantasy elements. The combat system was so fluid and satisfying to play. How did you come up with the idea for Night Raid?"

Adder's lips curled into a mischievous smirk. "Well, you see, I've always had a thing for the darker, grittier side of things. I wanted to create a simulation that would challenge players, both physically and mentally. The idea of blending the real and the supernatural just came to me one day, and I ran with it."

Sam nodded, his eyes shining with genuine interest. "That's fascinating. I'd love to hear more about your creative process. What were some of the challenges you faced, and how did you overcome them?"

Sam continues to ask Adder about his design process for the enemies in Night Raid. "The enemies were a crucial part of the experience. How did you approach creating them and ensuring they felt both realistic and challenging?"

Adder's smirk widens as he explains, "Ah, the enemies. That was where I really got to unleash my darker imagination. I wanted to blend human and supernatural elements, to create a sense of unease and unpredictability."

Sam watched as Adder's expression shifted, his initial amiability giving way to a more confrontational demeanor. The man's eyes narrowed, and his tone sharpened as he addressed Sam.

"Hey, why are you being so chummy with me?" Adder proclaimed, his voice laced with a hint of pride. "Listen up, Genesis. You may have won the competition, but don't get too cocky. Because I'm going to defeat you!" He jabbed a finger in Sam's direction, his gaze unwavering.

"I've been making simulations for years, and I won't let some fledgling surpass me!" Adder declared, his words carrying a sense of determination and a touch of resentment. Without another word, he turned on his heel and strode away, leaving Sam and Gail in a state of bewilderment.

Sam turned to Gail, his brow furrowed in confusion. "What was that all about?"

Gail shrugged her shoulders, her expression equally puzzled. "I'm not sure, but it seems you've just gained a rival."

Sam let out a soft sigh, his shoulders slumping slightly. "Eh, I was hoping to avoid this kind of drama."

Gail placed a reassuring hand on his arm. "Isn't it fine? He'll at least keep you on your toes. I've heard of Caliban before - he was a rising star when he started out, though his work has declined recently. He's still talented and a veteran in the industry."

Sam let out a wry chuckle. "And a guy like that just forced me to become his rival."

Gail's lips curved into a faint smile. "I did hear he has some screws loose in his head. But try not to let it get to you. Just focus on doing what you do best - creating amazing simulations."

Sam nodded, feeling a renewed sense of determination. "You're right. I can't let this distract me. I'll just have to keep doing my thing and see how it all plays out."

With a deep breath, Sam turned his attention back to the event, ready to face whatever challenges his newfound rival might bring.
