Blue Archive: Do I look like a student to you?

Chapter 1: Prologue

(A/n: mc full name is Lina Astra)

The city of Kivotos shimmered under the vast expanse of a starry sky. Blue lights glowed softly, illuminating the streets and casting reflections on the rippling river that snaked through the heart of the metropolis. Above, faint circular trails etched into the heavens hinted at something cosmic, their mysterious shapes blending seamlessly with the constellations.

On the streets below, students went about their lives, their youthful energy blending into the rhythm of the bustling city. Some played games, their laughter ringing out as they dashed across quiet streets under the streetlights. Others doing part-time jobs, working behind counters or hauling supplies, their faces focused yet calm. A few gathered at karaoke spots, singing loudly with friends, their voices a mix of joy and awkwardness that filled the small rooms with life.

Above all of this, perched on top of one of the towering buildings, sat a lone figure. She was quiet, a stark contrast to the vibrant city below. The wind ruffled her hair as she gazed up at the stars, her expression distant and thoughtful. A comet streaked across the night sky, its brilliant light reflected in her yellow eyes.

Lina looked at the comet streaking across the endless night sky, its brilliance reflected in her yellow eyes. The stars twinkled around it, indifferent to the turmoil within her. Deep inside, there was a sadness—a void so profound that no words in this world could ever describe it.

"Why did I even come to this world?" she muttered, her voice trembling.

Her fingers gripped the fabric of her skirt tightly, her knuckles turning white as the questions clawed at her mind.

"Why is this happening to me? What did I do wrong… to be in this unknown world?"

Her breaths grew uneven as the thoughts spiraled, each one sharper than the last. "Why? Why? Why? Why?" she repeated, each word a desperate plea for answers that would never come.

A single tear escaped, falling silently and striking the rooftop floor beneath her.

The city below her was alive with sound and light, but to her, it felt distant—unreachable, like a memory she couldn't quite grasp. The laughter, the voices, the warmth—it all seemed to mock her isolation.

Lina breathing hitched, and she pressed her forehead against her knees, letting the muffled sobs escape her lips. The vastness of the starry sky above seemed to close in on her. She felt like a speck of dust, adrift in an endless void, with no answers, no path, and no home.

Lina sat quietly, her sobs fading into the stillness of the night. Her yellow eyes, once vibrant, now looked dull and lifeless, mirrors of the despair that had taken root deep within her. The light of the stars above reflected in them faintly, but even their brilliance couldn't pierce the shadow that enveloped her heart.

She slowly raised a trembling hand to her face, wiping away the traces of tears that streaked her cheeks. Her movements were mechanical, void of energy, as though even that simple act required every ounce of strength she could muster.

Her gaze drifted upward once more, searching the vast expanse of the night sky. The stars blinked down indifferently, and the comet that had once caught her attention was long gone, leaving nothing but a trail of emptiness in its wake.

In her heart, a fragile hope still flickered—one she clung to desperately. 'Maybe this is all just a nightmare,' she thought. 'Maybe I'll wake up soon… back home, in my own world, where everything is familiar.'

But that hope had been her only solace for the past three months, and nothing had changed. Every time she closed her eyes, every time she willed herself to awaken, she found herself back here—in this strange, alien world, surrounded by unfamiliar sights and faces.

The reality of it all felt suffocating. The weight of the days that had passed, and the uncertainty of the days still to come, pressed heavily on her shoulders.

And yet, Lina remained where she was, staring into the infinite sky, waiting for the impossible.

Lina sat in the quiet darkness, as she reached into her pocket and pulled out her phone. The screen remained black, unlit, but it was enough. She stared at the faint reflection staring back at her—a girl with white hair and piercing yellow eyes.

Her gaze lingered on the floating yellow halo above her head, glowing faintly even in the night. It hovered there, mocking her, a constant reminder of the body she now inhabited.

A surge of anger welled up inside her. She clenched the phone tightly before suddenly hurling it away with all her strength. It clattered to the rooftop floor, the sharp sound cutting through the silence of the night.

"Other people would be happy if they got transported to another world…" Lina growled, her voice thick with frustration. "But not me."

She gritted her teeth. "A world I'm not familiar with… and even my body—my gender—changed."

Her hands trembled as she hugged herself tightly, her nails digging into her arms. The reflection of the girl she had seen was still burned into her mind, a cruel confirmation of how far she was from the person she used to be....
