BTTH: The Legend Of Xiu Emperor

Chapter 27: You're Xun'er?

In the hall, Hun Tian Di sat on the upper throne, dressed in a pristine white robe. A faint smile graced his face, though it was unclear whether it was genuine or merely a facade.

To his left sat a man in a black robe, also smiling faintly. Beside him, a little girl around four years old wore a green dress with her hair tied into two buns. Her adorable appearance made her look like the perfect little doll.

Her round, bright eyes frequently darted toward the door, her small face filled with anticipation, as though eagerly awaiting someone's arrival.

---

At that moment, a young man in white robes slowly entered the hall. His pace was steady, his demeanor calm, and his presence exuded an aura of maturity far beyond his years.

Standing there, he gave the impression of a prodigious talent, a monstrous genius. His demeanor alone was enough to command respect, even without anyone saying a word.

When the young man appeared, Hun Tian Di's face lit up with satisfaction. Over the past two years, he had personally witnessed Hun Xiu's growth.

This son of his, especially his extraordinary talent, was undeniably his legacy.

In just two years, without relying on any cultivation resources or elixirs from the clan, Hun Xiu had advanced to the rank of Dou Huang, simply by absorbing the Dou Qi from heaven and earth. Such talent was not just rare—it was otherworldly.

The temperament and confidence that radiated from him were a perfect reflection of Hun Tian Di himself. Without a doubt, this son would one day stand at the pinnacle of the continent.

---

The man in black robes, Gu Yuan, the patriarch of the Gu Clan, instantly recognized the youth in white as soon as he appeared.

"Isn't this the son-in-law I've chosen?" Gu Yuan thought to himself.

Gu Yuan's gaze fell upon the young man, and a sense of satisfaction flickered in his eyes. Over the past two years, Hun Xiu had grown even more exceptional. True to his name, Hun Xiu (Xiu) was truly excellent.

Glancing at the little girl sitting beside him, Gu Yuan noticed her big round eyes were locked onto Hun Xiu, her expression one of pure adoration.

With a sigh, Gu Yuan thought, "Why is there such a disparity among descendants of ancient clans? Hun Xiu is an unparalleled prodigy, while my own child..."

Meanwhile, the little girl couldn't contain her excitement. Staring at the young man in white, her eyes sparkled like stars.

In her mind, she thought, "It's really him! He's grown so handsome. I wonder if he'll still let me ride on his back?"

"Father," Hun Xiu said as he walked to the center of the hall. He stopped and slightly bowed to Hun Tian Di, his tone respectful yet confident.

"Xiu'er, you've finally arrived," Hun Tian Di said warmly, his smile widening. "This is Gu Yuan, the patriarch of the Gu Clan—and also your future father-in-law. You should greet him."

Hun Xiu turned to Gu Yuan and bowed slightly. "Father-in-law," he said respectfully.

Gu Yuan nodded approvingly. "Good," he replied simply, but the satisfaction in his eyes spoke volumes.

This boy was indeed extraordinary.

Hun Tian Di then gestured toward the little girl in green and said, "Xiu'er, now that you've greeted your father-in-law, do you know who this little one is?"

Hun Xiu's gaze shifted toward the little girl. She stared back at him with wide, expectant eyes, her expression brimming with anticipation.

Neither Hun Tian Di nor Gu Yuan said anything further, letting the two children observe each other in silence.

"It's big brother… horse… this is great," the little girl suddenly said in a crisp, playful voice, mimicking the tone she had used two years ago.

Hun Xiu's eyes widened in shock, his pupils contracting as realization dawned.

His thoughts raced back to two years ago, when Gu Yuan had visited the Hun Clan and brought along a small, chubby child.

That child, with her adorable, pinchable cheeks, had cried until he coaxed her by pretending to be a horse and letting her ride on his back.

At the time, she had giggled and said, "It's big brother… horse… this is great."

Now, as he looked at the little girl in green, her image overlapped with the memory of that child.

"You're… Xun'er?" Hun Xiu finally asked, his voice trembling slightly with disbelief.

The little girl, Xun'er, beamed at him, wearing a radiant expression.
