Chapter 269: Palkus’ Journey! 40
What was happening to palkus was indeed something Draco had planned.
However, it was something necessary.
Aside from the longing, the reason Palkus was sleeping so much was because he was going through prolonged evolution.
This wasn't a process people normally went through, but Draco was forced to make Palkus go through it solely due to the effects of Chaos on him.
It was previously mentioned that anyone else other than Draco wouldn't be able to handle Chaos and for that very reason, Draco had to take some precautions.
And now it happened. After successfully going through the prolonged evolution, the dormant laws inside of Palkus had exploded, becoming even more abundant and reaching absurd levels.
But all of this was an attempt to withhold chaos. All of the laws inside of Palkus' body would go towards forming a cocoon whose sole purpose would be to hold chaos inside of it.
If it wasn't obvious until now, Palkus was also a test subject aside from being Draco's blessed one.
The continent wide catastrophe had lasted for an entire month or two before the fog receded and the first to wake up was Azeroth.
"Azeroth, Azeroth, you're awake?" Opening his eyes, the first thing the fallen angel had seen was the worried expression of Palkus.
"I'm okay." Azeroth nodded, a smile on his face from seeing that the young man was finally back to his usual self.
"I'm sorry. It's my fault that all of this happened." Palkus apologized.
"You have nothing to apologize about; it wasn't your fault. By the way, where is that guy?" Azeroth asked.
"That guy?" Palkus pointed at the vampire p^rimogenitor, who was just waking up.
"Yeah, aren't you going to deal with him?" Azeroth asked.
"I don't know, it doesn't feel right at the moment." Palkus scratched his head.
"You're right." Azeroth nodded. The young man wasn't as ruthless as he was to kill someone for benefits.
He was eventually going to do it but not this soon.
But, while Palkus had no plans of killing the primogenitor, the damage had already been done.
"The shame I have suffered at the hands of this young man cannot be carried forward any longer." Alucard spoke to himself.
He looked at his own hands as he felt like his ancestors were gazing down at him with disdain.
"But maybe it's not that bad." He glanced at Palkus one last time as he thought to himself.
"To be able to die because of someone destined for so much greatness." Alucard closed his eyes as his figure started to disintegrate by itself.
"W- what just happened?" Palkus turned back to look at what was happening and he was beyond shocked to see the fragments of the vampire primogenitor just fly through the sky.
*Badum*
At that very moment, a sound of a heartbeat was heard before the fragments that were flying to the sky changed directions and flew at frightening speed towards Palkus.
Palkus was surprised for a second but before he could act, they struck his chest.
"UGH!"
"Palkus!" Azeroth shouted, but then he saw as Palkus's chest and neck started turning black before black lines spread all over his faces, arms, and body.
"AAAAAAAAARGH!" Palkus shouted with all of his might, worrying Azeroth, who was next to him, but instead of shouting and checking him, Azeroth just stood there watching everything happen.
He knew what was happening and knew that he shouldn't interrupt the process.
Palkus was simply gaining the privilege of a vampire primogenitor.
It had to be said that his time on this continent wasn't very pleasant, but at least, they indulged in pleasures.
The young man continued screaming for a good 20 minutes before he stopped and almost blacked out.
Azeroth caught him, and seeing how he was, he decided to lead him to rest and only after waking up would they plan their next move.
----------
It took Palkus a week for his body to fully be accustomed to the constant pressure it was going through.
The chaos, laws, and primogenitor bloodline had to be fully integrated, and now that everything had successfully been absorbed, Palkus would become much stronger than ever before. His journey forward would be a breeze until he reaches the realm of transcendents.
"You're awake." Azeroth opened the door to Palkus' room and seeing as he was awake, he entered.
"Yeah." Palkus sat on the edge of his bed and Azeroth sat next to him.
"When will we move?" he asked.
"Whenever you want."
Then as soon as possible." Palkus replied.
"I see." Azeroth understood that the young man just wanted to get out of this continent.
"The phoenix continent it is." He added.
"Yeah." Palkus looked at the wall in front of him as his mind traveled his thoughts.
"I will be waiting outside." Azeroth got up and left the room, but Palkus stopped him.
"Is- is this normal?" Palkus asked while looking at Azeroth with eyes that made the fallen angel's dead heart shiver.
"Is it normal for me to get this angry? To get this bored? To not want to talk to anyone?"
"Is it normal to feel this emptiness in my chest and this feeling of something stuck on my throat?"
"Is it normal for me to miss my wife? Is it… Is it normal for me to want to go back to my days when I was a kid playing around with my master? Where my parents and my little sister were just around the corner?"
"Is it normal, Azeroth? Is it normal?"
"It is normal." Azerorth stood there for a second before he faced Palkus and spoke.
"It's normal for all living beings to feel shitty and miss the good days. It's normal to be down at times and it might even take years for you to feel alive."
"As long as there is a chance to see some light… you should keep chasing it."
"Don't be like me, Palkus."
"Don't drown in the darkness. You're still young; you have just married the girl you like; you have just started your life."
"It's normal."
