chapter 12
12 – Recipe(2)
Silverin took me to the warehouse.
There were many of her personal items there. Uniquely styled clothes and shoes of unknown nationality. Different types of furniture. Old magic wand.
On one side of the cabinet were dozens of trophies and medals. Some of the trophies were so numerous that they were left lying on top of each other like plates.
Looking at the patterns engraved on the trophies, there was no place without empire, principality, magic society, knights, and merchants. What was Silverin doing with her life?
Silverin’s past lay dormant in the warehouse. great past.
I didn’t know Silverine’s exact age. The only thing you can tell by looking at him is that he is very young. Maybe mid 20’s at most.
Is it possible to achieve such achievements at such a young age?
Isn’t it possible to suppress aging with alchemy and have a grandmother inside?
Silverin called me after staring at me for a while.
“Come on.”
She stood still with her back to me, holding a sword in a leather scabbard.
As I approached her, she slowly turned away. Then he handed me the sword.
“receive.”
I took the sword and looked around. Simple and unpretentious decoration. It was the size of a one-handed sword and was fairly light enough to hold and wield.
Looking at the scabbard and handle, traces of long-term use remained.
“Who wrote it?”
“yes. But now it is a sword without an owner.”
“Who was the previous owner?”
“My little brother.”
“… .”
“It’s yours now.”
I stared into Silverine’s eyes. she has a grave expression
If so, this is my brother’s memento. Can I use something like this?
Silverine spoke as if she had read my thoughts.
“It was something to throw away. Do not spare it and swing it until it breaks.”
Silverine doesn’t seem to have any intention of burdening me, but I feel like I shouldn’t use it.
How can you recklessly roll a sword like this?
***
Silverin donned a gray robe and left the front door. In front of the mansion, a servant came out with a horse.
I may have said it, but I only said one thing. That meant that I had to ride a horse with Silverin in my arms.
Silverin beckoned me.
“Get on first.”
“… .”
My goal was to have my skills to the point where I wouldn’t be laughed at at the academy. I think I should learn horseback riding first than swordsmanship.
When I got on the horse, Silverin rode behind him.
she said to the servant.
“Tell them to stop all outside activities today and stay inside the mansion barrier.”
“All right. miss.”
She grabbed the reins and shook the horse, and the horse started to run.
We quickly left the mansion grounds. After running for about 30 minutes, I started to see the village. We got off our horses as we approached the entrance to the village. It was the first time I had seen the village around here.
After passing the village entrance, there were many people riding horses and the roads were cluttered with merchants.
I thought it was about the size of a small village, but the village was much bigger than I expected. It should be said that the village is in the stage of taking on the shape of a small town little by little.
We rode our horses along the road leading to the center of the village. The peddlers carrying the bundles and the villagers glanced at Silverine and whispered.
It didn’t seem like he recognized her as a wizard. The reason why people’s attention is drawn is because of her unusual appearance.
Her height and graceful features far exceed the average of village women. And because of her strikingly white skin, she could not help but stand out from a distance.
Silverine drew so much attention that I seemed to see her as just a servant following a noble lady.
I saw Silverin’s face. She didn’t seem to be conscious of it at all, even though it caught the attention of the men at a glance.
Silverin’s gaze was focused on one place.
Dozens of knights in the center of town. Only the lord could command such a number of knights.
Upon hearing the news of the appearance of the ghouls, it seemed that the lord also sent a subjugation party here.
Silverin moved towards the knights.
As we approached them, the knights’ gazes also fixed on Sylveryn.
A knight on a horse drew his sword and pointed it at Silverine.
“Who are you? Reveal your identity and affiliation.”
Someone in the distance suddenly shouted.
“Awful! What are you doing!”
Everyone’s eyes turned there. There was a knight with a long beard and a straight back. He was the commander of the knights.
The commander immediately restrained his subordinate and dismounted. Then he walked up to her and got down on one knee.
“Meet the Archmage, Silverin.”
Silverin held out her hand towards him.
“Long time no see. Popper.”
Popper kissed the back of Silverine’s hand as a sign of respect.
“I apologize for my subordinate’s rudeness.”
“I don’t care.”
Upon hearing Silverin’s name, the knights got off their horses in unison and knelt down on one knee and bowed their heads.
what?
Of the two, I’m probably the most surprised. I was dumbfounded when I saw the knights’ actions. The knights must also be aristocrats, but the fact that they were so embarrassed by Silverin was somewhat foreign to them.
This was largely due to Silverin treating me too casually. A great mage, Silverin was such a high-ranking person… ?
“Get up. I’d like to say hello in a relaxed way, but I can’t afford it because of the urgency.”
When the commander stood up, all the other knights followed him.
Silverin pointed at me and said.
“Ah, this is my disciple.”
Commander Popper looks at me questioningly.
Then, the eyes of the knights all turned to me.
I greeted the knights according to the etiquette. I never imagined that the etiquette I learned at Lorail Hall would be so helpful.
“This is Damian. I followed Master in order to be of some help in subjugating the ghouls.”
burden. Aren’t they also aristocrats? The word Silverin’s disciple made everyone’s attention focus on me. The cold sweat broke out on my back from staring at them so intently.
said Popper.
“Since it’s the great mage’s discernment, can I expect it?”
wait I’m just an insignificant teenage boy.
Then Silverin answered.
“hahahaha. I don’t know how to do it yet, so don’t expect anything. I brought them in to learn from the performance of the seniors.”
“Looking at the age group, he is the same age as our youngest. I brought my youngest to experience it, and before it even started, he was having an accident and it was messy… .”
Popper turned his attention to the knight who had first been wary of Silverine and pointed his sword at him. He had the youngest-looking face among the crowd of knights. His face hardened as he was so nervous.
The young knight approached Silverin and knelt down.
“My name is Joyce Carroll. I sincerely apologize for being rude.”
“Okay. You must have acted according to the rules. Wake up.”

Joyce stood up hesitantly, and Popper tapped him on the shoulder.
“This guy is preparing to enter the academy next year. Although young, he is clever and excels at swordsmanship. This subjugation will be a great experience.”
When the story of the academy came up, my ears flashed.
So, that could be my motivation.
“Then you are the same age as Damian. This child also sent a letter of recommendation to the academy in my name. It may be a motivation in the future.”
When the word Academy Recommendation came up, I briefly bumped into Joyce.

Joyce glances at me up and down like a scale. I don’t feel very good. It seems that there is no feeling of being jealous of me at the word recommendation.
said Popper.
“There must be a lot to be said about the disciple. For now, let’s put that aside until after the subjugation, and let’s talk about the ghouls first.”
The conversation went straight to talking about ghouls.
“great. Have you figured out the location of the ghoul?”
said Popper, brushing his beard.
“Hmm, not yet. We’ve sent out reconnaissance near the windmill to the southwest and the potato fields to the east. Since the potato fields are soft and there are few rocks, it is a good place for ghouls to dig burrows, so we are concentrating our investigations on the area.”
One of his subordinates sneaks up and opens the map and shows it to Silverin. Be kind too.
“Then, since we’ll have some time left before the scouts return, can we take a look at the place where the ghouls first came in?”
“Sure. Let me guide you.”
Popper, accompanied by two knights, guided us.
After walking for about ten minutes, he arrived at a small house made of terracotta.
Two knights stood guard at the door of the house, and when they saw us, they saluted.
This house was located in the center of the village. The route must be limited, but I wondered how it went unnoticed on the way here.
When Popper opened the door, the smell of blood hit me in the back. I covered my nose.
“Ugh.”
Upon entering the house, we were greeted by the corpse of an old woman.
“It looks like the house where the grandmother and granddaughter lived, but a ghoul broke the window and attacked it.”
grandmother and granddaughter. Then he remembered the bloodied girl brought to Silverin’s house. Will the granddaughter be that child?
Then the child might have lost his only blood relative and become an orphan. My heart felt heavy because it didn’t look like anyone else.
said Silverin.
“The ghoul seems to have escaped.”
“exactly. It is said that the villagers fled when they heard the screams and came in droves.”
“Didn’t they chase you?”
“I did chase it, but it seems to have disappeared in an instant because it was so elusive.”
“It might still be hiding in the center of town. We need to find them quickly before they join the pack.”
A swarm of ghouls swarmed in my head.
said Popper.
“I’ll start searching the town right away. Hmm, if the guy who ran away brings the group, it will be a big problem.”
Popper’s face hardened severely.
Soon after, he ordered his men to assemble.
