Chapter 83: Chapter 82: The White Wolf and the Alien Spaceship
It seemed as though the security guard had made up his mind to shoot, but before he could raise his gun, the white wolf let out a low growl and lunged at him with a sudden burst of speed.
"Damn it!"
Sensing death drawing near, the security guard immediately lifted his pistol, ready to fire.
But his reaction was too slow. With a resounding thud, the wolf knocked him down.
The handgun he was holding was instantly flung away.
The sharp claws of the wolf scraped across his chest, and the pain was searing, with stabs of agony radiating from his back.
Terrified and paralyzed by fear, he could only watch as the white wolf's sharp teeth moved closer to his throat.
"No! No! Please, don't kill me!"
The security guard, feeling the cold grip of death, desperately begged for his life.
The wolf, its eyes glowing with eerie light, paused for a moment, seemingly considering the guard's plea.
The wolf slowly lifted its claw from the guard's chest, glancing at him one last time before swiftly turning and running back into the forest.
The guard, still trembling with fear, kept his eyes tightly shut and prayed fervently. When he felt the weight pressing on him vanish, he dared to open his eyes.
Shaken, he staggered to his feet and looked around.
The dense, dark forest was filled with thick, swirling white mist.
Touching the wound on his chest, he disregarded the pain and hurriedly ran toward his truck, starting the engine and speeding away from the construction site.
The next day.
"I am the sea breeze, I will take your sails and howl through your rotting hull, preventing you from moving forward."
Azu and Clark stood side by side, both poised and ready, preparing for a race.
In an attempt to build up some momentum before the race, Azu threw a few harsh words at Clark.
Clark, not to be outdone, quickly retorted, "Alright then, I am the indestructible golden ship!"
After they both got ready, Azu pulled out a matchstick and flicked it forward.
As the matchstick ignited in mid-air, both of them shot off like lightning.
"Whoosh!"
"Whoosh!"
The two figures sped side by side, but soon, Clark began to fall behind.
When they reached a fork in the road, they each chose a different path toward their destination.
"Boom!"
Azu activated his super jump, easily leaping over a hill and landing heavily on the ground.
However, before he could continue running, the ground beneath his feet suddenly caved in.
The earth gave way, and before Azu could react, he was swallowed whole.
On the other side, Clark reached the finish line but still saw no sign of Azu.
Logically, even if Azu wasn't as fast as him, he shouldn't have taken this long to catch up.
Worried, Clark immediately retraced his steps to look for Azu but found no trace of him.
"Godfather!"
Peter, who was cleaning out the barn at the farm, looked up in surprise as Clark ran toward him in a panic.
"Godfather! Azu's missing!"
"Missing?!"
Peter, seeing Clark drenched in sweat, was momentarily confused.
"Don't panic, Clark. Tell me, what happened?"
Peter tried to calm Clark down, encouraging him to explain what had happened.
"We were racing, and I took a different path. Then Azu just disappeared."
"Azu will be fine, Clark. Take me to the place where you and Azu raced."
Peter wasn't particularly worried about Azu's safety. Given his extraordinary abilities, it was unlikely he would be in any real danger.
Unless, of course, the Soldier Boy descended from the heavens and wiped out Azu's powers with a chest cannon.
With Clark, Peter retraced the route they had taken and soon discovered something suspicious.
Before them was a collapsed cave.
Peter stood at the edge and called out, "Azu, are you down there?"
"I'm down here, Dad."
Hearing Azu's voice, Peter let out a relieved sigh.
Although he hadn't been overly concerned about the situation, it was a relief to know Azu was safe.
"Boom!"
Peter jumped into the collapsed cave with Clark, landing heavily on the ground.
Azu was standing in front of a rock wall, examining something. Upon seeing Peter, he quickly walked over to his side.
"Are you okay, Azu?"
"I'm fine, Dad. After I fell, I've been looking at these paintings."
Peter nodded and patted Azu on the head before glancing around.
The cave was spacious and dimly lit, with ancient-looking murals carved into the rock walls.
Just as Peter was about to take a closer look at the paintings, he felt an unusual presence in the otherwise dark cave.
"Tap! Tap! Tap!"
Footsteps echoed from around a corner in the cave.
A young woman holding a flashlight appeared in front of them.
Carrying a tool bag and shining a flashlight, the woman was surprised to see Peter and the boys.
"You—what are you doing here?" she asked, shining the flashlight on their heads. "Did you fall from above?"
"Yes."
Peter looked at the young woman, whose bronze skin glowed under the flashlight. "Who are you?"
"I'm Kelly. I've been doing some research nearby. I heard the rocks collapsing and came to investigate. I didn't expect to find you here."
She quickly took off her tool bag, pulling out bandages and a first-aid kit. "It's about a hundred feet high here. You must be injured after falling."
Seeing that Kelly was preparing to treat him, both Clark and Azu looked at Peter, silently asking for help.
"They're fine. It's possible there was some cushioning below," Peter assured, signaling that none of them were hurt and didn't need treatment.
Before Kelly could say anything else, Azu suddenly pointed to the paintings on the wall. "Dad, what's this?"
Peter turned his gaze toward the rock wall.
The murals depicted images of extraterrestrial visitors.
Amidst a meteor shower, a spaceship descended from the sky.
After the spaceship landed, the scene shifted to a city in ruins, with collapsed buildings and a sky torn apart—an apocalyptic vision.
Kelly, shining her flashlight on the murals, gasped in surprise. "This is very similar to a story passed down in my tribe."
"Are you indigenous?" Peter asked her.
"Yes, I'm from the nearby Kawachi tribe."
Kelly's flashlight continued to illuminate the surrounding murals as her expression grew increasingly astonished.
"This story has been passed down in our tribe for many years. It's a prophecy—one that says fire rain will fall from the sky, bringing a hero. Every so often, the fire rain brings someone chosen by fate."
As she spoke, she shone the flashlight on another painting.
"Here, the people chosen by fate will cause turmoil throughout the universe, leading the world into war. But at the same time, they will be the ones to cleanse evil and rebuild order."
Peter listened to Kelly's explanation, feeling a slight stir in his heart.
Fire rain falling from the sky, bringing someone chosen by fate every so often—it sounded remarkably similar to his own situation!
The system sending a baby every so often—these babies were all chosen by fate?
They would cleanse evil and restore order?!
How? Would they need to wage interstellar war or embark on a grand galactic expedition?
Azu, oblivious to Peter's inner thoughts, leaned closer to the murals, studying the spaceship in detail.
"Dad, I can catch all the people from these spaceships for you."
Azu spoke confidently, ready for action.
