Douluo Dalu: From Shinobi to Spirit Master

Chapter 27: Chapter 27: Qian Renxue

Bibi Dong felt an overwhelming sense of joy.

Just when she thought Su Chen had already amazed her beyond measure, the boy would always surprise her with something even greater from unexpected places.

"Little one, you're truly a gift from the heavens!!"

Without further explanation, she suddenly pulled him into her arms, holding him tightly against her chest.

When Su Chen realized what was happening, he was immediately hit by the intoxicating fragrance of her body, the softness of her form enveloping his face.

He froze.

Su Chen's mind went blank. In both of his lives, he had never been treated like this before. It took nearly three seconds for him to snap out of it, before forcefully trying to break free. With two quick Body Flicker Techniques, he reappeared twenty meters away.

"What do you think you're doing!?" he exclaimed, a trace of irritation in his voice.

Hearing the young man's somewhat angry tone, a playful smile appeared on Bibi Dong's lips. She tapped her fingers on her red lips, speaking in a teasing tone, "Are you upset? Then I apologize... okay~?"

Once she calmed down from the excitement, Bibi Dong realized that what she had done might not have been entirely appropriate, but she couldn't help but tease him again. It wasn't intentional; she had just gotten carried away in the moment.

"Forget it," Su Chen muttered dully.

What else could he say? Could he really stay angry at someone like her and refuse to cooperate?

How could this woman be so shameless?

"Alright, alright. Don't be upset. I'll ensure that the finest materials are provided for your laboratory, alright?" Bibi Dong said with a soft chuckle, sitting down with grace. Her expression shifted as her smile faded, and her eyes took on a serious gleam.

"So, little one, tell me... can your extraordinary abilities be replicated?"

At this moment, the Pope was visibly nervous.

Fortunately, as always, Su Chen did not disappoint her.

"Of course they can. But my research is still in its early stages, so don't expect quick results."

The boy paused for a moment before responding with confidence.

In reality, replicating these abilities wasn't something he had the immediate capability to do.

After all, all ninjutsu in the ninja world relies on chakra to function, and no one else could wield it except for him. He had already tested this with his biological father.

But if it doesn't work right now, that doesn't mean it won't in the future. After all, Su Chen, as the unique chakra-born individual of the Douluo Continent, might one day achieve something akin to the power of the God Tree's fruit.

It wouldn't hurt to claim this now, especially if it meant gaining access to better resources and a more advanced experimental environment.

No need to mention the level of favoritism, of course.

"There's no rush. You're still young. Your first priority is cultivating your soul power. This can wait for later," Bibi Dong said, her smile returning. She relaxed, looking like a lazy cat basking in sunlight, her figure impossibly seductive as she leaned back on the chair.

Su Chen couldn't help but be reminded of how much she had exposed him to—so many things he shouldn't have seen.

"But, little one," Bibi Dong continued, still looking at him with her beautiful burgundy eyes, "I know you must be feeling quite proud right now, and you should be. But remember, it's a taboo in the martial world to underestimate others."

"Yu Xiaogang's research may not be as impressive as yours, but you must not look down on him. No matter what, he is a seasoned expert with years of experience."

Bibi Dong said this not to defend Yu Xiaogang, but to impart a lesson to Su Chen—one that would help him guard against arrogance and carelessness.

Geniuses are fragile, and Su Chen, being a genius among geniuses, needed to be kept grounded.

With a serious expression, she added, "I don't want anything to go wrong because of your pride."

"With all due respect, Your Holiness the Pope," Su Chen shrugged nonchalantly, "I've also read Yu Xiaogang's works. I can only say that his theories are flawed. Only one genius in a million could ever be educated by such a theory. It's inherently warped."

He couldn't hold back his scorn for someone like Yu Xiaogang, especially considering how much he respected research.

When he first encountered the theory of the Ten Core Competencies of Martial Souls, he had already felt something was wrong with it. Later, as his abilities grew, he realized the theory was nothing more than empty speculation.

The first core competency spoke of martial soul inheritance. But what exactly is inherited? Bloodlines? Genes?

If bloodlines are inherited, then how should mutations be explained?

It was all theory with no substance, just conclusions drawn from unproven observations.

Su Chen couldn't help but scoff inwardly as he reflected on the many ridiculous theories he had encountered.

"An innate martial soul directly tied to soul power? Nonsense," he muttered, thinking of Oscar's martial soul—a simple sausage—and the fact that he was born with full soul power. Was the sausage somehow a Haotian Sausage or perhaps a Blue Silver Sausage emperor? Ridiculous!

But what truly baffled him was the claim that there were no useless martial souls—only useless soul masters. So, the Clear Sky Hammer and the Hoe were apparently on equal footing, were they?

This wasn't theory; this was pure toxic nonsense masquerading as wisdom!

As for the rest of the theories, they were more tolerable, but not much more. They didn't even matter in the grand scheme of things.

Yet, somehow, Yu Xiaogang had managed to become a respected master. How?

Bibi Dong, noticing Su Chen's frustration, chuckled softly. "There's no need to say that," she started, her voice warm. "After all, I am a beneficiary of that theory as well."

Su Chen froze for a moment. The Pope's words seemed to carry weight, but then, as she processed the implications of his statement, her smile faltered.

The little guy… He was right. He had twin martial souls with innate soul power. At his current pace, he would reach the title of Titled Douluo in no time—much sooner than most. And if all those theories were discarded, well... it wouldn't change much, would it?

Bibi Dong's face softened as she closed her eyes, lost in thought. She had once believed that her success was tied to Yu Xiaogang's teachings, and she had wholeheartedly supported him. But now, her memory felt shattered. The man who had once been her idol, the towering figure of her past, seemed so... ordinary.

A wave of disgust washed over her as she recalled his recent, intimate relationship with her cousin. How had she fallen for such a man? How had she once obsessed over him?

As her gaze turned inward, lost in contemplation, Su Chen quietly excused himself, leaving her to her thoughts.

His goal had been achieved. Waking up Bibi Dong from her blind affection for Yu Xiaogang was part of his plan. Today, much of the groundwork had been laid, and the rest would take time to cultivate.

The boy walked into the soft embrace of the morning sun, feeling a sense of accomplishment. The plan was going smoothly, each step bringing him closer to his objectives.

The mention of self-created soul skills had already been set in motion, providing him with a solid excuse for using ninjutsu in the future. Showing off the Clone Technique had been a deliberate move—he was bound to use Shadow Clone Jutsu at some point, so why not lay the groundwork now?

As for techniques like Transformation Jutsu, he knew better than to reveal them prematurely. Such power could easily stir up unnecessary trouble. Best to keep it as a trump card for the future.

And then, there was the Ten Thousand Year Soul Bone, the discovery of natural energy, the state-of-the-art laboratory, and Bibi Dong's trust. All of these were treasures in their own right.

The one thing still left to resolve was Bibi Dong herself—her boundless nature still nagged at him. Just thinking about it gave Su Chen a headache.

"Forget it," he sighed, shaking off the thoughts. "Time to catch up on sleep."

The boy yawned, the exhaustion from yesterday catching up with him. Had it not been for his excitement last night, he would have collapsed into bed long ago.

Now that he could finally relax, fatigue began to settle in. He briefly considered finding somewhere to rest for a while. But before he could make a move, a faint, familiar fragrance filled his senses.

"Damn, is she chasing me?" Su Chen blinked in surprise and quickly looked up.

A golden figure emerged from the distance, and for a moment, he thought it might be Bibi Dong. But as the figure came into focus, he recognized the person immediately.

"It's not Bibi Dong..." He whispered, his voice uncertain. "It's Qian Renxue?"
