Douluo Dalu: The Path of Abyss

Chapter 11: Ye Feng does not play by the rules

"Two storylines, but I got three attribute points?"

Ye Feng was stunned.

When Ye Feng first stepped through the gates of Notting Academy, a minor storyline was triggered, earning him an attribute point he could freely allocate. Now, after becoming the leader of Dormitory Seven, he had been rewarded with three additional attribute points to distribute as he pleased.

Only Ye Feng understood the true value of these attribute points.

"You can call me whatever you like—Ye Feng, Boss Ye, or just Boss," Ye Feng said nonchalantly.

"Then… I'll call you Ye Feng?" Xiao Wu's eyes twinkled mischievously. As the little sister of both the Titan Giant Ape and the Sky Blue Bull Python, she felt it would be humiliating if the soul beasts of the Star Dou Forest learned she was calling a human her boss.

"Sure. As long as you recognize that I'm the boss of Dormitory Seven, we're good," Ye Feng replied with a grin.

"Ye Feng, can you tell me what technique you just used?" Xiao Wu asked curiously.

"I haven't obtained a spirit ring yet, so I don't have any soul skills. That was just a fighting technique," Ye Feng answered calmly.

"A fighting technique?" Xiao Wu grew even more curious.

"Yes. It's called 'Hooligan Fighting.' It's a street-style combat technique commonly used by local ruffians." Ye Feng nodded.

"Well, it certainly lives up to its name!" Xiao Wu muttered. Remembering how Ye Feng had pinned her down earlier, her face flushed slightly.

At that moment, Tang San glanced at Ye Feng, a thoughtful expression crossing his face. He had always sensed that Ye Feng was hiding something. Like himself, Ye Feng had spent most of his time in Holy Spirit Village, sparring with other kids. How could someone like that have such advanced combat skills?

What Tang San didn't know was that Ye Feng's experience stemmed from his previous life.

Breaking the silence, Tang San turned to Xiao Wu and asked, "Xiao Wu, what about you? What kind of fighting style did you use earlier?"

"I was using soft techniques," Xiao Wu replied confidently.

"Soft techniques?" Tang San murmured, mulling over the term.

"It's a combat style that leverages the flexibility and resilience of one's body," Xiao Wu explained.

Hearing this, Tang San fell into deep thought. He reasoned that if he fought Xiao Wu, as long as he struck first and reacted quickly, he could probably defeat her before she got too close.

"Ye Feng, what's your spirit power level? You seemed incredibly strong earlier," Xiao Wu suddenly asked.

"I'm… level 20," Ye Feng said after a brief pause, choosing to disclose the information on his Spirit Hall certificate.

"What?! Level 20?" Xiao Wu looked at Ye Feng in disbelief.

"How old are you?" she asked.

"Six," Ye Feng replied truthfully.

"Six years old?!" Xiao Wu froze, stunned. After a moment, she continued, "But you said you don't have a spirit ring yet. How can your spirit power be level 20?"

"Because I'm innately full of spirit power at level 20," Ye Feng explained.

"Innate full spirit power at level 20?!" Xiao Wu was utterly dumbfounded, her gaze sweeping over the boy in front of her. The revelation shook her—Ye Feng's innate power surpassed even the potential of her 100,000-year soul beast form.

At that moment, a teacher with light green hair walked into Dormitory Seven, holding a quilt in his hands.

"Who here is Tang San?"

"I am," Tang San replied, stepping forward.

"I'm Teacher Mo. This quilt is a gift from Master."

"Thank you, Teacher Mo," Tang San said politely.

Teacher Mo continued, "Tang San, Ye Feng, and Xiao Wu are first-year working students. Your task is to maintain the garden south of the playground. You'll earn ten copper soul coins a day, but slacking off will result in expulsion. Tomorrow is the opening ceremony, and classes officially begin the day after. Work starts immediately after that. If you have questions, ask Wang Sheng."

With that, Teacher Mo left the dormitory.

Xiao Wu's gaze wandered around the room, eventually settling on the quilt in Tang San's arms.

"Xiao Wu, use mine!"

"No, use mine!"

"Mine's been in the sun all day!"

The boys, including Wang Sheng, eagerly offered their quilts to Xiao Wu, vying for her favor.

Xiao Wu glanced at the quilts they held but frowned at their less-than-clean appearance. Her eyes inevitably landed on the quilt Tang San held.

Startled, Tang San instinctively clutched it closer.

"You… by the way, I don't know your name yet," Xiao Wu said, looking at Tang San.

"My name is Tang San," he replied.

"Tang San, can I ask you something?" Xiao Wu smiled sweetly.

"What is it?" Tang San raised his eyebrows, suddenly cautious.

"Your quilt is big enough for two people. Could we push our beds together and share it?" Xiao Wu asked, her face tinged with pink.

"Uh… no," Tang San replied quickly. "You're a girl, and I'm a boy. Men and women shouldn't share a bed."

"Exactly," Ye Feng interjected. "Tang San is right. Even if you're young, it's better to avoid gossip. Sharing a bed could damage your reputation."

"But… I forgot to bring a quilt from home," Xiao Wu said softly, her head lowered in embarrassment.

"I've got you covered," Ye Feng said, tapping the bracelet on his wrist. With a flick of his fingers, he produced a pristine pink quilt embroidered with intricate patterns. Its silky texture was far superior to Tang San's.

Xiao Wu hesitated, then accepted it. "Thank you, Ye Feng."

"Don't mention it."

When Xiao Wu and Ye Feng unfolded their quilts, her cheeks turned red again. Both quilts bore identical embroidery: "Starting from our first meeting, ending at the end of life."

These were clearly lover's quilts.

Just then, a system notification echoed in Ye Feng's mind:

Ding Dong!

"Congratulations, you've altered a key storyline in Douluo Dalu: Prevented Xiao Wu and Tang San from sharing a bed, giving Xiao Wu a quilt instead. Reward: 100 attribute points."

Ye Feng smiled to himself. Sleeping in your own bed, free from interruptions—what could be better than that?
