Douluo Dalu: The Path of Abyss

Chapter 40: Domain of Sword Martial Spirit

"Disciple, let us begin. When my father awakened my martial soul domain, he used only 10,000 ancient swords. Now, with 18,000 swords, I'm eager to see what difference this will make for your Xuanyuan Sword martial soul," Jian Dao Chen Xin said with anticipation.

"Master, what should I do?" Ye Feng asked, suppressing his excitement.

In the original storyline, Tang San relied on the assistance of the Ten Thousand Year Blue Silver King to awaken his Blue Silver Grass martial soul for the second time, which granted him the Blue Silver Domain. Now, Ye Feng was about to awaken the domain of his Xuanyuan Sword martial soul with the aid of Jian Dao Chen Xin.

"Go to the center of the mountain and sit cross-legged. Keep your spiritual platform steady and your thoughts focused. No matter what you feel, do not allow your concentration to waver," Jian Dao Chen Xin instructed solemnly.

"Understood." Ye Feng nodded.

Ye Feng walked to the designated spot and sat down cross-legged. Jian Dao Chen Xin closed his eyes briefly before opening them again, a burst of radiant silver light erupting from his body.

Jian Dao Chen Xin's silver soul power was incredibly domineering. Under its influence, the 18,000 swords of various shapes and sizes scattered across the mountain began to converge toward Ye Feng, their energies forming a shimmering silver tide. While each sword's energy seemed unremarkable on its own, their collective power was overwhelming, like countless streams converging into a vast lake.

The silver light stopped just a meter away from Ye Feng, forming a massive cocoon of luminous energy. The concentrated power of the swords began to flow into Ye Feng's body, seeping through his capillaries and infusing him with a sword-based energy essence.

Though these energies held unparalleled purity, Ye Feng's mortal body struggled to endure their intensity. Tremors coursed through his frame as pain etched itself across his features.

"If the will endures, the spirit remains unbroken," Jian Dao Chen Xin's voice resonated in Ye Feng's consciousness.

"If the will endures, the spirit remains unbroken..." Ye Feng repeated silently, using the mantra to steel himself against the pain. Focusing entirely on his spiritual sea, he ignored the agony that wracked his body and allowed the ancient sword energies to wash over him.

Ning Rongrong watched from the sidelines, her hands tightly clenched. Seeing Ye Feng's contorted expression, she silently prayed, Senior Brother, please hold on...

The mountain, enveloped in Jian Dao Chen Xin's powerful sword energy, stood like a fortress against any interference. Being far from any soul beast forests, the ritual proceeded undisturbed.

The process bore similarities to Tang San's second martial soul awakening. Tang San had relied on the Blue Silver King and the vast fields of Blue Silver Grass to gain the Blue Silver Domain. Similarly, Ye Feng's Xuanyuan Sword martial soul would awaken its domain with the help of these 18,000 ancient swords, Jian Dao Chen Xin's unparalleled expertise, and his own immense willpower.

Of course, one critical factor remained: Jian Dao Chen Xin's formidable level 96 soul power. Without such an immense reservoir of energy to sustain the awakening ceremony, it would have been impossible to unlock Ye Feng's martial soul domain.

As the first light of dawn broke over the mountain, Ye Feng slowly opened his eyes. A fleeting glimmer of twin silver swords appeared in his gaze, exuding a sharp, awe-inspiring aura.

Jian Dao Chen Xin, visibly drained, waved his hand to disperse the surrounding silver light. As the swords and their radiance faded, he staggered back three steps.

"Grandpa Jian!" Ning Rongrong cried out, rushing to support him.

Ning Rongrong caught Jian Dao Chen Xin just in time. She noticed his pallor—his once rosy complexion now ashen. Even for a Titled Douluo at level 96, sustaining such a demanding ritual had clearly taken its toll.

"Are you alright?" Ning Rongrong asked worriedly.

"Don't worry, Rongrong. Grandpa Jian just needs to rest. I used up a lot of soul power, that's all," Jian Dao Chen Xin reassured her with a weak smile.

"Master!" Ye Feng called out emotionally, his voice tinged with gratitude and concern.

Jian Dao Chen Xin appeared noticeably older, his aura somewhat diminished after the ordeal. Despite this, his expression reflected deep satisfaction.

"Disciple, show me the domain of your Xuanyuan Sword martial soul," Jian Dao Chen Xin urged, his curiosity evident.
