 The demon was immediately paralyzed by her gaze, one that seemed to pierce the very essence of life and death. It felt as if she had infinite power. He glanced between Taro and the strange figure sitting at the table, before belching again and swaying off.

 The birds returned to Taro's shoulders, preening their feathers and curiously looking around.

 Fortune turned her attention back to Taro, still puzzled.

 "Where did you hear that King Kai has the ability to help you improve again?" she asked. "I didn't know that King Kai could restore the potential of someone who had their life force drained by the Sacred Water."

 Taro responded calmly.

 "A deity from Earth mentioned King Kai to me. So, I asked him to bring me here. Whether it works or not, I just wanted to try."

 As for his true purpose, he conveniently left that unspoken.

 Baba, sitting atop her crystal ball, pondered for a moment before glancing at the birds on Taro's shoulders.

 "Leave these birds with me" she said with a gesture. "But don't say I didn't warn you." She added, "King Kai probably doesn't have what you're hoping for. Don't be too disappointed."

 Taro smiled faintly, gently lifting the seven colorful birds from his shoulders and handing them to his sister.

 "I didn't have much hope to begin with, so there's no disappointment to speak of." He paused, looking down at the birds that seemed reluctant to leave him. "These little guys don't like the atmosphere here in Hell..."

 Baba scoffed.

 "You should worry about yourself!" She shot a sharp glance at the birds, who immediately quieted down, obediently letting her take them.

 Taro lovingly patted each bird's head, murmuring, "I'll come back for you. Be good."

 "Chirp…" The birds let out tired, listless chirps.

 After bidding Baba farewell, Taro turned and strode toward the entrance of the hellish tavern. The birds, still in Fortune's care, gazed longingly at his retreating figure until he disappeared from view.

 Fortune, gently stroking the birds' soft feathers, seemed lost in thought.

 "Alright, let's go. Take me to meet my master. I wonder how she's doing in Heaven."

 The strange figure sitting opposite Fortune Teller Baba, the previous Earth deity, gave a faint smile. His voice was hoarse yet filled with a kind, gentle tone as he said, "What do you think? Of course, she's doing very well."
