Chapter 44: Chapter 43: Revenge is Never Complete
As the night wore on, he stood there, lost in thought. The sky was still so calm and vast, but inside Light, the stars seemed to shine slightly differently.
His expression held a strong desire to commit bad deeds, and nothing would stop him from doing so in order to achieve his system results.
With all this in hand, he closed his eyes and went to sleep.
Hours had passed and it was already morning, and Momo was getting ready to go to Yuki's house to try to have a civilized conversation... knowing all the trouble that had come between them.
The scene shows Yuki's house, and the doorbell was rung at the exit door... waking the boy who was already in his deepest sleep.
"Huh? Who's ringing that doorbell this early in the morning?" Yuki grumbled as he tiredly got out of bed and put on his slippers to walk home.
Light Yagami's picture was still pinned up on Yuki's dresser, with the small bloodstains covering the star pupil's face... and the caption that he would seek revenge at all costs.
As Yuki walked along, he saw that next to the door he had a pair of prescription glasses stored in a small jar. He put them on his face to clear his vision and not show his dark circles and tired eyes so much after a (not) very pleasant night's sleep.
Opening the door, he noticed the presence that was above the carpet in his house... the girl who had done so much for Yuki, the one who had offered her body in exchange for his immense love instead of plans for her personal goals.
"Good morning, Yuki-san." Momo coldly greeted her friend in front of the door and entered the house without him stopping her on her way... leaving her to take comfort in the living room.
"Good morning... are you all right Momo-chan?" In a calm and concerned tone, Yuki closed the door and tried to get close to Momo to help her.
Just as Yuki was about to approach her, he felt a different aura seeping through her skin... it was as if she was stirring up hatred and disappointment on a grand scale and it gave off a bad odor to his feelings.
All that was just an expression of what she might be feeling, the aura is not something visible... but felt by the heart itself.
"And you still ask?"
Yuki slowly began to remove the glasses from her face and realized that she had actually done something that might have upset her.
"No... it's just that I... really wanted to talk to you."
Yuki said in a worried tone, sighing with every interrupted word because of the brief guilt she was feeling.
"And I came here to talk to you too, Yuki-san." Momo replied, looking penetratingly into the boy's young eyes.
He swallows his throat and heads for the kitchen so that he can prepare some coffee for the two of them to drink together and talk to each other... and minutes later, the two of them are sitting on the sofa and drinking their breakfast together.
For a while, there was no dialog between the two of them... everything was very quiet, waiting for one of the two to start that conversation and find a way to create a resolution out of it, which was already impossible after a lot of trouble had been discovered.
"Do you want to ask me something, Momo-chan? Be my guest, okay?"
Momo reflected as she sipped her coffee, and after Yuki's initial conversation, she put her cup down on her sofa cupholder.
"I really wanted to understand something, do you love me?" Momo added so that he could answer her truthfully and in detail.
"Of course I love you Momo-chan, why wouldn't I love you?"
Yuki tried to put his hand on her hand to show a little affection, but she ended up pulling her hand away from Yuki's hand and she replied with a tone of anger.
"If you really loved me, you would have found a way to stop Nana from watching me, you wouldn't have gone crazy with this harem plan, and especially you wouldn't have sought unnecessary revenge on Light Yagami just because he was humiliated in the cafeteria!"
Momo, with all his anger and guarded words, made Yuki remain silent and without a way to respond to that with any certain statements... letting his sense of peace go away and a pressure arise in his mind.
However, as long as he starts something... he won't end it, so he stands up and tells her about it all in a few words.
"I'm not going to stop with my revenge, I hope you can understand that, for better or worse."
Momo listens to this with a cold expression, realizing that she has already lost the Yuki Rito she has loved so much throughout her life and at school... if he has set his heart on something, he will do it until the end.
The scene suddenly shows Nana sitting on the bed while hugging her legs, reflecting on what she has done to her sister.
Eventually, someone knocks on her bedroom door, and she asks who it is that's there... and the characteristic, distinctive voice leaves Nana longing for it.
"Do you need anything, Nana-chan?" Kurosaki said in a gentle tone, approaching Nana and hugging her from the side to calm her down.
Nana began to tighten her arms even more, and for a moment... she lifted her head to look into Mei's eyes.
"Mei... did I really make a good choice in denouncing Momo to Yuki?" Nana asked with small tears on her face, waiting for a clear answer from her best friend who was supporting her with her arms around her body.
