Chapter 15: The Virtual Lab
The night was pitch black, the moon hidden behind a veil of clouds. Axel lay motionless, his body a still form in the darkness. The only sound was the soft hum of Gizmo, a constant companion in his silent world. His mind, however, was far from idle. It was a whirlwind of thoughts, each one more intricate than the last.
He was focused on the task at hand: sensing the light element. Gizmo had explained that it was the most elusive of all elements, constantly shifting and changing, yet ever-present. Axel closed his eyes, his mind reaching out, searching for the faintest flicker of light. And then, he felt it. A gentle warmth, a subtle vibration. It was faint, almost imperceptible, but it was there.
He focused on it, drawing it closer, feeling its energy coursing through him. With each breath, the light grew stronger, filling him with a sense of peace and clarity. As the night wore on, Axel's control over the light element grew. He could feel its presence in every object, every living thing. He could manipulate it, bend it to his will. It was a thrilling experience, a testament to his growing power.
With each passing day, Axel's control over the element improved. He could sense almost all elements and was now focusing on controlling the light element. For any aspiring Elementalist, the first challenge is the ability to sense their element to a certain degree and then try to establish a relation with the element by trying to gain some control over its particles.
After that, one has to start accumulating elemental energy near the abdomen trying to form a core of elemental energy and the final step is to merge this core of elemental energy with one's soul and thus become a true Elementalist. But there are many intricacies involved in the described process and one can go wrong at any point in the whole series of events.
Axel had completed the first step way too quickly and with flying colours. He could not only sense his own element but also all others, this would not have been possible without Gizmo's extensive teaching regarding the properties of all elements and their behaviour. Still, Axel had completed a task that might take a decade for other talented geniuses to complete.
With Gizmo's guidance, Axel delved deeper into the intricacies of elemental manipulation. He learned how to draw energy from the environment, how to channel it through his body, and how to project it outward in a focused beam.
He practised tirelessly, day and night, honing his skills until they were second nature.Axel had also decided upon the skill he was going to pursue. He was trying to obtain a skill related to a 'dual mind', since his birth on Earth he had a habit of talking to himself and had thus developed a counter persona.
This act of his helped him a lot in his scientific endeavour as it provided him with a fresh perspective every time. But later on, it was also the reason for his depression. But now Axel was trying to obtain a skill of the same type due to its usefulness and his familiarity with the concept. Thus he had started to read up on the topic with the help of Gizmo. The last thing the little prodigy took up was on experimenting with the poison that had been bestowed upon him by chance.
He had asked Gizmo to make a copy of the poison and its chemical structure and then he ran various simulations with the help of Gizmo in his virtual lab.
The virtual lab was a realm of infinite possibilities, a digital universe crafted by Gizmo's advanced AI. It was a place where Axel could experiment, learn, and grow without any physical limitations.
The lab's interface was a mesmerizing blend of holographic displays and tactile controls. Floating, translucent screens projected intricate diagrams, simulations, and data visualizations. Axel could manipulate these displays with a mere thought, zooming in on specific details or altering variables with a flick of his wrist.
At the heart of the lab was a vast, immersive environment where Axel could interact with virtual objects and elements. He could summon and manipulate fire, water, earth, and air, testing their properties and combinations. He could even simulate the effects of his abilities on different materials and creatures, all without risking any real-world harm.
As Axel delved deeper into the world of elemental manipulation, he began to experiment with the poison that had been bestowed upon him. He carefully analyzed its molecular structure, studying its interactions with various substances.
With Gizmo's assistance, he created a virtual model of the poison, allowing him to test its effects on different organisms and environments. The virtual lab was more than just a tool; it was an extension of Axel's mind, a place where he could explore the boundaries of his abilities and unlock the secrets of the universe.
'Looks like I have got my own Mind Palace Now, Hehe' Axel was gleaming, with the idea of using his Virtual Lab daily.
