LIGHTNOVELSTORY Chapter 379: Emperor Spriggan Makes His Appearance
(Third Person POV)
"You?" Brandish said, "That may be the case....but..."
She snapped her fingers and in an instant, the ground beneath Jason molded itself into several spikes that shot upward at him.
Jason was barely able to avoid them as they grazed him.
"Tch!" He said as he jumped away to safety
He rubbed his wounds, slight cuts made by the ground spikes that Brandish used to attack. They were only bleeding a little bit.
Brandish then waved her hand, causing the land below Jason to launch itself upwards, in a massive tower of earth.
Jason didn't see this coming, as he should've, and lost his footing.
"Dammit." He said as he was flung into the air
Suddenly, Brandish appeared next to him and swung her arm at him, striking him with a small blade into his midsection.
"Hm." Brandish said with a neutral face
The blade wasn't able to pierce Jason, which surprised him. It appeared his body was strong enough for such a small thing to even damage him.
"Huh?" Jason said as they both were in mid air
"Command T: Expansion"
Suddenly, a massive blade impaled Jason right through his midsection, exploding with blood as Brandish looked at him.
Jason widened his eyes, "Shit." He said as they both fell down
At the last second before hitting the ground, Jason was able to kick Brandish away. The Shield of Spriggan landed several meters away from him as she had reverted her knife to regular form and removed it from his body.
Jason landed on the ground, stumbling.
"Shit." He said as he clutched his wound, "I got careless. I forgot about her magic."
He managed to get up and pat his wound as it closed.
Brandish saw this and raised her eyebrow, "Your wound is healing..?" She said, "Interesting."
"Yea." He said, "Interesting indeed. Your magic allows you to control mass, whether magical, inanimate, or organic."
Brandish nodded, "So you're aware." She said, "That makes one of us that's informed. For some reason, it won't work on you. Which is odd."
Jason snapped his fingers, summoning a massive spear in his hand. It was a massive black spear with four curved blades at the tip. This was the same spear that Erza Knightwalker gave Jason prior to his departure from Edolas.
"Holy Spear: Ten Commandments"
Brandish raised her eyebrows again, "Oh?" She said, "You really want to test that out?"
Jason looked at her, 'My Black God Slayer Magic may be more suited to fight against her and easily win.' He thought to himself, 'But I don't wanna show my hand. I have to use the arsenal I have with War Magic, even if it puts me at a disadvantage.'
"You can try your Command T on my weapons." Jason said, "Might work, might not."
Brandish narrowed her eyes, "Is that so?"
Before Jason could say anything else, they both felt an immense magic power as a loud shout was heard.
"JASSSOOOONNN!!!" They both looked up to see someone flying down
Jason squinted, "What the...."
He saw Natsu falling straight down as he had his right hand reared back and engulfed in flames.
Brandish saw this with a look of surprise, "W-What is..."
"Fire Dragon's Iron Fist!!!!"
Natsu swung his fist at where Brandish was right as he landed, punching the ground and causing a massive explosion of flames. The explosion shattered the earth and caused a massive shockwave that sent everything flying away, except Jason who merely stood there covering his face with his forearm.
"Natsu?!" Jason exclaimed, "What the hell are you doing here?!"
As the explosion subsided, Brandish appeared several dozen meters away. She had shrunk herself and jumped away to avoid the attack aimed at her.
"Who's this?" She asked
Natsu was panting as he looked up at her with a scowl, "She avoided my attack?!"
Jason was about to say something when Happy flew towards him.
"Jason!" He called, "Sorry! He told me to drop him from high up!"
Jason looked up at the exceed, "Happy!" He said with a scowl, "What are you idiots doing here?!"
"We came to give you help with the arm-" Happy said before looking at the massive clearing, "Whoa!! You did some crazy damage to them!"
Jason nodded, "Yea." He said, "I did. I don't need you guys getting in my way."
Natsu looked at Jason and scowled, "Man, I'm gonna help you whether you like it or not!!" He growled, "I'm ready to woop some ass!!"
Jason narrowed his eyes, "You stupid-" He said before he was cut off by a massive dark aura
It was in an immense magic power, heavier than what one was normally used to. Natsu and Happy felt this and were frozen in shock. The two of them were used to the immense magic power of their peers but this was nothing like those.
Jason had come face-to-face with powerful individuals like Irene and August. But this magic power was just like Acnologia's, extremely dangerous and vast like the vacuum of space.
Brandish felt this and began to sweat immediately.
"No.." She said softly, "I haven't felt him like this in years.....why'd.....He's..."
Jason knew exactly what she meant. He knew who this magic power belonged to and it wasn't Acnologia's. Acnologia's magic power was full of nothing but destruction. This one was much more darker and ominous.
Suddenly, a massive swirl of black energy began to appear next to Brandish.
"I didn't expect to have you come to me so soon..." a voice said, "Natsu...."
Brandish knelt down immediately as Natsu, Jason, and Happy saw the figure of a man appear from the black swirl.
"Who the...." Natsu said, "Is that....?"
"Yea." Jason said seriously, "Zeref."
"Your Majesty..." Brandish said
"Oh, Brandish." Zeref said as he fully emerged, "I meant not to make you nervous....stand.."
Brandish reluctantly straightened up as she looked at Zeref who was standing in front of her, his eyes were scarlet red, signaling the Black Wizard's change of demeanor.
"It is important that the Spriggan 12 stand tall with their Emperor." Zeref said as he gave Natsu a smirk, "It's been so long since we've seen each other, Natsu."
Natsu frowned, "Do I know you?" He asked
"Oh..." Zeref said, "You do. It is I-"
"Get behind me, Natsu." Jason said as he took a step forward, "Don't listen to this fucker."
Zeref looked at Jason, "Oh." He said, "So it's you. You're the one. The one known as Jason, eh?"
Jason readied his spear as he looked at Zeref, "Yea." He said, "That's me."
Zeref smiled, "You should've joined me when you had the chance." Zeref said,
"But now I have to kill you."
