Football: What Happened To Going To The Nightclub? I Have To Score

Chapter 253: Chapter 253 So What About The Iron Wall Of Atletico Madrid? Unparalleled Mode Starts!

"Welcome back to LeTV Sports' coverage of the 2016-17 UEFA Champions League quarter-finals!"

In the first half, Atlético Madrid hosted Chelsea at the Calderón Stadium, and the match ended in a goalless draw.

"Thanks to their two away goals from the first leg, Atlético has set up a defensive wall at home. It seems they're determined to see this through."

"Chelsea created a few chances in the first half, but breaking down this world-class defense is no easy task."

"Su Luo was very active, but unfortunately, he couldn't convert any chances."

"He's got just 45 minutes left."

Chelsea's time is ticking away, and based on their first-half performance, they've been struggling.

They've tried different attacking tactics, but Atlético's defense has been solid, leaving Chelsea feeling frustrated.

Zhan Jun couldn't hide his concern for Su Luo.

"If he doesn't find a way, he might get eliminated by Atlético again," he said, worried. "Being knocked out by the same team two years in a row... Could this become Su Luo's mental hurdle?"

Director Zhang, frowning, added, "Chelsea still lacks someone who can help Su Luo create opportunities. Mount is too young and is struggling against last season's Champions League winners. He's been nearly invisible."

"Pedro has had some chances, but he's not the type to break through in the middle. Su Luo needs better service, but Atlético has done a great job of shutting down their connection."

"Without Ajar, it's hard for Chelsea to score more than two goals. Atlético's defense is just too strong."

Director Zhang shook his head in frustration.

For this crucial game, Diego Simeone has sent out his strongest lineup:

Goalkeeper: Oblak;

Defenders: Juanfran, Savic, Godín, Filipe Luís;

Midfielders: Saúl, Koke, Gabi, Carrasco;

Forwards: Griezmann, partnered with Torres.

Their backline is packed with strength, and even Griezmann has been tracking back to help defend, leaving Torres as the lone striker up front.

Chelsea, on the other hand, are missing key players. Although Azpilicueta has returned, Kanté and Ajar are still sidelined.

Courtois was suspended, so Begovic has taken over in goal. Chelsea's lineup:

Goalkeeper: Begovic;

Defenders: Azpilicueta, David Luiz, Rüdiger;

Midfielders: Moses, Fàbregas, Matić, Marcos Alonso;

Forwards: Mount, Su Luo, Pedro.

Mount has been solid against lower-ranked teams, but against an opponent like Atlético, he's struggling. He's been mostly invisible throughout the match.

Su Luo has found it hard to link up with Pedro, and breaking through Atlético's defense on his own has been challenging.

But something's changed.

Su Luo's gaze on the pitch is cold and focused, locked onto the Atlético players like a hunter eyeing his prey.

He just needs to find that perfect moment, to flip the switch and enter his unstoppable mode...

But how can he find that connection?

After some attempts in the first half, Su Luo seems to have figured out a pattern. If he can enter a state of extreme focus, he might be able to unlock that next level.

He just needs to focus.

Maybe an extreme challenge will do it.

In the locker room, Su Luo volunteered, asking for more chances to carry the ball. He's ready to act.

As the second half kicks off, Chelsea continues to hold possession. Atlético, meanwhile, maintains their high-pressure defense, squeezing Chelsea at every opportunity.

Despite the pressure, Su Luo's teammates trust him. Whenever he drops deep to receive the ball, they immediately pass it to him, regardless of how many Atlético players are closing in.

"Su Luo gets the ball, Carrasco closes in... He turns, changes direction, and passes!"

"He's moving forward, but Gabi and Koke are closing down fast. It's hard to shake them off!"

"Su Luo moves to the wing, linking up with Moses... Gabi's been beaten, but Koke and Saúl are still chasing. Now Filipe Luís joins in..."

"Four players are surrounding Su Luo, but he's holding onto the ball!"

"Saúl tries to trip him with a sweeping tackle! The referee blows the whistle – foul!"

Unfortunately, the free kick doesn't create any real threat. Atlético clears the ball with a long pass, and Chelsea regain control.

The ball comes back to Su Luo. Instead of passing, he decides to push forward again.

"Saúl blocks his way! Su Luo uses a quick drag-back with his left foot! He speeds up to his right... and he's past him!"

"Uh-oh, Gabi and Koke are closing in again! Carrasco sneaks in from behind and pokes the ball away!"

Chelsea's attack breaks down once again.

"Now it's Atlético's counterattack!"

"Griezmann lobs the ball to Torres!"

"Torres heads it—close! But Begovic pulls off a fantastic save!"

Everyone breathes a sigh of relief. That was a close call for Chelsea.

Zhan Jun glances at Director Zhang, who smacks his lips in thought.

"It seems Chelsea's strategy is to give Su Luo more opportunities for individual breakthroughs rather than relying on passing. They're hoping he can find a gap in Atlético's defense."

"But Atlético's defense is incredibly disciplined. Their players are constantly moving and closing down space."

"No matter where Su Luo goes, he's always facing multiple defenders."

"Even if he gets past one, another quickly steps up to block him. It's tough for Su Luo to break through on his own."

"Could Conte have another plan up his sleeve?"

Director Zhang was puzzled, unsure of Chelsea's exact strategy.

Su Luo's solo efforts seem forced. If Ajar were here, maybe the two of them could combine to create something.

Meanwhile, on the Atlético sideline, Simeone watched the game with a smug expression and glanced over at Conte.

"Are they really trying to break down my defense like this?" his assistant laughed.

Simeone stared, unimpressed. "I guess they underestimated us."

Conte stood expressionless on the Chelsea sideline, while his assistant voiced his concern.

"Should we switch back to our previous style? Su Luo is holding onto the ball too much, and it's not working."

Conte stayed silent for a moment before shaking his head.

"No, it's fine. If Su Luo feels it's not working, he'll adapt. We just need to give him time. He might surprise us."

Conte trusted Su Luo completely.

Su Luo had always been able to read the game and adjust his play without needing instructions. Conte had learned to believe in his instincts.

And sure enough, Su Luo himself was aware of the issue. After several failed attempts to maintain possession, which nearly led to a counterattack by Atlético, he switched back to quick passes and movements, aiming to stabilize Chelsea's play first.

The game resumed with a similar rhythm to the first half. Chelsea continued to push, trying hard to break down Atlético Madrid's impenetrable defense.

But Atlético's defense was as resilient as ever, making it difficult to find any gaps.

Even when Su Luo managed to create an opportunity, Atlético's goalkeeper, Jan Oblak, was there to save the day.

"Su Luo passes it off! Cesc Fàbregas sends a through ball! He finds Pedro!"

"A powerful shot in the box!"

"Oh, what a save! Oblak denies Chelsea again!"

Simeone, who was on edge moments ago, now shouted in excitement, celebrating the save.

"Beautiful! Don't give them a chance!"

As time passed, the game had reached the 70-minute mark, leaving Chelsea with less than 20 minutes to turn things around.

As the saying goes, time is running out for Chelsea.

"We're by the Manzanares!"

"At the Calderón Stadium!"

"Thousands have gathered here!"

"Mad for football! Brothers fighting side by side!"

"Defending their honor!"

"Atlético Madrid! Atlético Madrid! Atlético Madrid!"

"Fight! Victory!"

With Atlético Madrid just minutes away from securing a spot in the Champions League semi-finals, their fans in the stands were ecstatic.

They sang the team anthem in unison, cheering their team on.

The red and white colors of the Calderón were alive with joy.

Meanwhile, Chelsea fans were losing hope.

"It's over, it's really over today," one fan sighed.

"Atlético Madrid is too solid. It feels like we have no chance!" another added.

"It's too much for Su Luo alone, but he's really tried his best."

"Are we really going to be eliminated? What happened to our dream of winning all four titles?"

Chelsea fans discussed their despair, unable to see a path to a comeback.

Many blamed the referee for their situation.

"If it weren't for those terrible calls in the first leg, favoring Atlético, we wouldn't be in this mess."

Amidst the complaints, a clear but energetic voice suddenly rang out.

"Are you Chelsea fans or not? This is the time to cheer for them, not give up!"

Everyone turned to see a tall, energetic blonde woman with a perfect figure.

Her accent was strange, perhaps German?

"Believe in the team! They can perform miracles! Let them hear your support! Push them forward!"

"Don't you say that English fans are the most passionate? Prove it!"

Many Chelsea fans found her words inspiring.

Though they were only about a thousand strong, they decided to make some noise.

"Yeah, we can't let the Spanish fans underestimate us!"

"Let them hear us!"

Moments later, the Chelsea players on the field heard a familiar chant:

"Blue is the color! Football is the game!"

"Together we will triumph!"

"Because we are Chelsea! Ohhh Chelsea!"

Su Luo noticed the change. Where had this sudden energy come from?

Little did he know, it was Erica's encouragement that had reignited the fans' passion.

Now it was his turn to keep fighting!

Through his observations, Su Luo realized that Gabi's stamina was fading.

Perhaps his age could be Chelsea's breakthrough point?

Su Luo dropped back to receive the ball again, choosing to keep possession and challenge Atlético's defense directly.

"Well done!" Zhan Jun exclaimed as Su Luo outmaneuvered Gabi.

Koke's eyes widened, and he moved in to close down Su Luo. At the same time, Saúl and Carrasco also moved in from both sides, surrounding him.

But Su Luo remained calm under pressure.

With quick footwork, he avoided Koke's tackle and charged toward Gabi!

At the crucial moment, Su Luo executed a skillful combination of moves—an oxtail flick followed by a feint—and managed to slip past Gabi!

He broke free from a four-man defense!

In that moment of extreme focus, Su Luo felt something shift.

It was as if he had unlocked a new level, and everything on the field became clear.

Even though it was brief, Su Luo immediately seized the moment.

"Unparalleled Mode! Activated!"

Suddenly, Su Luo felt an overwhelming surge of power coursing through his body.

He was filled with endless energy, his thoughts sharper than ever.

Nothing on the field could escape his awareness.

Five minutes left on the clock.

The comeback starts now.

His first move: a shot that must go in.

From 35 meters out, Su Luo didn't hesitate. He drew back, setting up for the strike.

It wasn't just a shot; it was like a guided missile. A precision strike, unstoppable.

Boom!

There was a thunderous roar, and in the shocked eyes of everyone watching...

The ball flew like a rocket!

Oblak dove, but he couldn't reach it.

The ball sailed into the top corner, smashing into the back of the net!

There was no stopping it!

"A screamer!! A world-class goal!! Incredible!"

"Su Luo's thunderous long-range strike has brought Chelsea back into the game!"
