Football: What Happened To Going To The Nightclub? I Have To Score

Chapter 268: Chapter 268 Taylor Swift Vs. Stamford Bridge? The Perfect Ending Of The Premier League!

On May 21, 2017, the Premier League season officially came to an end.

There were 7 days left until the FA Cup final and 14 days until the Champions League final. The timing was perfect—one game each week. It gave the players enough time to maintain their form without being too fatigued before their biggest matches.

Chelsea had already navigated through the most grueling part of the season, which saw them competing on four fronts. Despite injuries to key players, Su Luo practically carried the team by himself, leading them to victory after victory. Thanks to his heroic efforts, Chelsea secured the League Cup and the Premier League title.

Now, they were just two steps away from completing an incredible season. All that remained were the FA Cup and Champions League finals.

The closer they got to these decisive matches, the more crucial it became to stay focused and avoid mistakes. Su Luo knew that no one competed in finals for second place. Determined not to relax, he pushed himself even harder in training.

If Josephine were still in London, he would have been able to spend more time with her. But she had packed up and returned to her old apartment in Berlin. Su Luo wasn't too worried, though. Josephine hadn't cut off contact with him.

In fact, after Chelsea's second-leg victory against Barcelona, she had called him to check on his condition.

Her voice was cold, but Su Luo could hear the concern beneath it.

"You... How's your injury? Are you okay?"

"It still hurts a little," Su Luo replied, caught off guard at first. He then remembered being repeatedly fouled during the match by Messi, Busquets, Arda Turan, and especially Rakitic, who had tackled him hard enough to leave him lying on the grass for a while.

Fortunately, Su Luo had developed an instinct for anticipating dangerous fouls. He couldn't afford a repeat of last season, when he was injured and left watching from the stands as his team was eliminated. That was something he wouldn't allow to happen again.

With Modric's vision helping set up plays, Su Luo had essentially built an "early warning system" on the field. Anytime an opponent charged at him aggressively, he raised his guard and prepared to activate his quick reflexes—his "bullet time"—to dodge serious injury.

Because of his flashy playing style, he got knocked down frequently. But in the end, none of the fouls caused lasting damage. At most, he was a bit sore.

Josephine had called him to check on him, which was out of character for her. Su Luo wasn't about to let this opportunity pass by.

"Hiss... It might be a strained ligament. It's nothing serious. Don't worry, the team doctor already looked at it."

"Did you go to the hospital for a checkup?" Her voice was still cool, but there was a sense of urgency.

"No need. You're busy with your show. Don't worry about me—I'll get checked after the two finals."

"No, go today," she insisted, her usual gentleness giving way to rare firmness.

"It's fine, really—"

"You!!! I'm not going to argue with you anymore!"

Her breath became heavier as she tried to control her emotions. Then, without another word, she hung up.

Su Luo smirked, knowing her well enough to guess that she wouldn't just leave him to fend for himself.

"Gotcha," he murmured to himself, biting into an apple he had just pulled from the fridge. He was confident they'd see each other soon.

Just as he was about to change out of his bathrobe and go for a swim in his rooftop infinity pool, the doorbell rang.

"Who could that be at this hour?" he muttered.

It was already past 10 p.m., and the Chelsea district of West London was an upscale, quiet neighborhood. There were single-family villas everywhere, spaced far apart, and unannounced visits were rare. With police patrolling the streets regularly, it was one of the safest areas in the UK—no chance of random strangers showing up.

Even if a teammate was dropping by, they would have said something in advance.

"Who could it be?"

Su Luo threw his bathrobe back on and went to check the security monitor. A sleek Bentley Continental was parked outside, and a figure leaned out of the window, waving at the camera.

She was dressed discreetly, wearing a cowboy hat and oversized sunglasses that covered most of her face. But her flowing blonde hair gave her away immediately.

"Huh? What's she doing here?"

Although Su Luo was puzzled, he opened the gate to let her in. The Bentley pulled up in front of the villa, and the sound of high heels clicked as they approached the front door.

Su Luo opened the door, and before he could even say a word, a whirlwind of perfume and red lips crashed into him. He was pinned against the wall by the sudden, fiery kiss.

Breathless, they finally pulled apart after what seemed like an eternity.

"I thought you said you were in Los Angeles, writing songs in isolation? Why are you here in London?" he asked, still recovering from the surprise.

"I couldn't find any inspiration," Taylor Swift replied casually, dressed in a simple light-colored T-shirt and jeans. "And... I wanted to see you."

Su Luo felt the heat rise between them again.

"Oh? Wearing a bathrobe, huh? Were you waiting for your little girlfriend or something?" Taylor teased, her tone suddenly laced with jealousy.

"No, I was waiting for you," he said with a grin.

"Liar! You didn't even know I was coming."

"Well, I was just about to go for a swim."

"Swim?" Taylor gave him a playful look. "Then I'm coming with you."

A few minutes later, the previously still waters of the infinity pool were full of splashes and laughter.

In the final game of the Premier League, Su Luo stood in the player tunnel, lost in thought.

To ensure the main players were in top form, Conte had arranged the strongest starting lineup. He intended to use this final game to cap off a nearly perfect season with a victory.

Their opponent, Sunderland, had nothing to lose and was essentially there just to complete the fixture. The match felt more like a celebration than a real contest, a festival for Chelsea fans.

"Su, are you ready? It's time to go out," someone called.

"Oh, yes," Su Luo replied, snapping out of his thoughts.

As the game approached, Su Luo quickly refocused and walked out of the tunnel with his teammates.

Stamford Bridge was packed, with fans eager to witness Chelsea's last Premier League game of the season and celebrate the undefeated campaign.

In the control room of Sky Sports, the director was intently watching the camera feeds.

"Hmm? Give me a close-up of seat No. 3 in the VIP box," he instructed.

"Forget it. Cut back to Su Luo's close-up in 2 seconds," the director quickly changed his mind.

He had spotted Taylor Swift in the VIP box, but she vanished almost as soon as he saw her.

Taylor Swift had indeed come to watch the game. She planned to stay in London for a while and watch Su Luo's final three matches.

In the VIP box, she noticed movement behind her. This was supposed to be Su Luo's exclusive box, so she was puzzled.

Turning around, she saw a tall and slender girl who was also tall and slender, just like herself.

Su Luo, feeling a strange premonition, was a bit distracted just before the match started. But once on the field, with the support of star players like Xiaoluo, Jiuye, Modi, and Ibrahimovic, he quickly got into game mode.

He was the king of the field!

"The Premier League season is over! Chelsea has completed an unbeaten 38-round record!"

"With two goals from Su Luo and additional goals from Ajar, Kante, and David Luiz, Chelsea defeated Sunderland 5-0, ending the season perfectly!"

"Su Luo's first Premier League season has delivered a world-shocking performance!"

"He changed the dynamics of the Premier League almost single-handedly, broke numerous records, and reached the pinnacle of the Premier League in his debut season!"

"With 74 league goals and 37 assists in a single season, he helped Chelsea win the Premier League title with a record-breaking 115 points!"

"And Chelsea's campaign in all four competitions has been flawless!"

"Besides winning the League and League Cup, they are now aiming for the remaining two major trophies!"

"People often say football is a team game, and individual abilities rarely impact the team's performance throughout the season."

"But Su Luo has pushed Chelsea's limits to the maximum all by himself!"

"The additions of Conte, Su Luo, Kante, Rudiger, and others this summer have proven to be the smartest decisions Abramovich has made in the last decade!"

The scoreboard read Chelsea 5-0 Sunderland.

Both teams were on good terms, and there was no sign of conflict. Chelsea treated this as a warm-up match and took the opportunity to celebrate.

Azpilicueta had planned to celebrate with Su Luo, but when he turned around, Su Luo had already disappeared.

After the game, Su Luo rushed to the VIP box as soon as the free period began. Despite being pursued by TV reporters from stations like the BBC, he managed to slip past them.

Su Luo had expected that even if Josephine came back, it would be in time for the FA Cup final. He was surprised when she arrived in London a day earlier than expected.

As he entered the VIP box, he saw the two beautiful women seated together, quietly discussing something about beauty and skincare.

When Josephine saw Su Luo, her initial smile faded, and she immediately checked his ankle, showing her concern.

Su Luo felt a bit relieved seeing this. Taylor Swift noticed the exchange between them, though she looked a bit uncomfortable. She stood up with a smile.

"Guys, I just remembered I have a conference call with my agent. I'll head back to the hotel now. The room is yours."

Taylor Swift gave Josephine a friendly nod, shot a lingering glance at Su Luo, and left gracefully.

After Taylor Swift left, the room fell silent for a moment.

"If you had let me know you were coming, I could have sent a car to pick you up at the airport," Su Luo said.

"I can take a taxi. If I had told you in advance, I might have disturbed your date," Josephine replied.

"Uh..." Su Luo began to speak but was cut off by Josephine.

"Where's that girl? Erica, yes, why isn't she here?"

"I've been too busy with training camps lately. I came to watch the Champions League final," Su Luo admitted.

Josephine's emotions were reaching a boiling point. The past two months had been overwhelming for her.

"Don't even try to lie now," she snapped.

"Since you already know everything, there's no point in hiding it," Su Luo said.

"Hmph! You jerk!" Josephine's face flushed with anger as she turned to leave.

Su Luo reached out to stop her, but she pushed his hand away. As she approached the door, she suddenly cried out, "Ouch!"

"What happened? Did you hurt your ankle?" Su Luo asked, noticing her stagger.

Josephine couldn't help but rush back to him. Su Luo then embraced her tightly.

"Let go!"

"No, I won't."

"Damn it! Let me go!"

Despite Josephine's struggles, Su Luo held her firmly. After a while, Josephine stopped fighting and leaned into him, exhausted.

"The celebratory party is happening. Come with me, and then we'll head home," Su Luo said.

At the mention of "home," Josephine shivered slightly. She lightly pounded Su Luo's chest and rested her forehead on his shoulder.

"The football media is right—you're not just a player, you're a phenomenon," she murmured.

"Yep, that's right," Su Luo agreed.
