Chapter 12 - It's not you who sees its face
Chapter 12: It’s not you who sees its face, but it thinks you have
The Styx.
Death Song Academy.
“Oh, my God! I have failed your trust. Now that the mysterious containment breach has invaded the fleet, I currently lack the means to eliminate it. Nine out of ten of our fleet commanders have already perished at the hands of that creature. I humbly seek guidance from my God.”
In the Void Projection, the King of Devourers respectfully saluted and requested.
Wearing a black cloak and robe, Death God Karl, sitting upright at an ancient table, paused his writing with a quill pen. His profound eyes shimmered like the abyss, and a faint smile appeared on his lips.
“I have already seen it. Its unique way of regeneration, seemingly different from resurrection in the dark plane, allows it to traverse physical space freely… These containment entities truly expand one’s horizons,” Death God Karl said.
“My Lord… Please give me your guidance,” King Howler urgently requested.
The screams of agony within the cabin had already ceased, indicating that… 096 had already killed all the Abaddon who had seen its face!
This also meant that the entire Abaddon fleet had lost at least 90% of its commanders!
The plan to invade Earth has to be postponed.
“Do not gaze upon its face, Howler. Take a photograph of it for me. Perhaps… it will become the key to defeating the angels,” Death God Karl smiled, an excellent idea forming in his mind.
He was quite looking forward to it. If he projected the photo of this timid individual onto the Angelic Nebula or presented it to Kaisha as a gift…
Could Kaisha… eliminate 096?
Truly an intriguing research subject.
“Um… understood, my Lord,” King Howler hesitated for a moment, then bowed.
Red Cloud Star System.
Abaddon Fleet.
Blood trickled through the gaps in the cabin door. There was no pain on King Howler’s face. As a warrior blessed by Death God Karl, he had been stripped of all emotions.
However, the life-or-death crisis made him pause for two seconds before taking a deep breath and slowly pushing open the cabin door.
A pungent smell of blood rushed out. What greeted his eyes was a floor covered in blood. Abaddon were also living beings, and their blood was similar to that of humans.
But now…
No remains or dismembered bodies could be seen, only some blood stains left on the ground.
One could say that… It was a clean death.
And in the distance of this gruesome scene, the “shy individual” with pale skin, looking lonely, paced back and forth, cowering in the corner.
King Howler’s mouth twitched. It was this darn thing. It actually wiped out his entire command team.
A bunch of fools!
If they had paid a little more attention earlier, they would not have ended up in such a predicament.
Now, the plan to invade Earth had to be postponed. But according to the request of Death God Karl, all he needed to do was take a photo of this guy and send it over.
To wake this guy up?
King Howler felt inexplicably apprehensive.
Didn’t Death God Karl already strip away these negative emotions? Why did he still feel a tingling sensation on his scalp?!
He couldn’t determine whether his infrared vision could evade the opponent.
Or perhaps…
Once face to face, as long as the other person thought his gaze fell on his face… would the “shy person” consider it as being “seen in the face”?
His heart raced anxiously!
Don’t talk about the fearsome King of Devourers. The more powerful someone is, the more afraid they become.
Acquiring this level of strength wasn’t easy, and now he had to take such risks before even enjoying it.
“Feng Lei! You go and activate the infrared dynamic scanning. Don’t use normal vision! Take a picture of this guy!”
Suddenly, the King of Devourers sees the Gluttonous Warlord Feng Lei and his subordinate approaching to report their work.
These two guys were the second-highest-ranking combatants in the entire fleet, pure fighting personnel rather than commander types so that they could avoid disasters.
“Yes, my king!”
The two Gluttonous Warlords, Feng Lei and his companion, momentarily freeze but quickly respond with an affirmation. But when they awakened the “shy guy,” the moment the person’s face turned towards them…
A piercing scream rang out.
The shy guy screamed and pounced on them.
“Darn it!!”
The King of Devourers muttered a curse under his breath.
A violent crash resounded.
Feng Lei, the two war generals, and 096 engaged in an intense battle. The King of Devourers couldn’t bear to look, only hearing General Feng’s armor shattering amidst his screams.
They began eating watermelon again!
Darn it!
This thing is even scarier than expected!
“My king!”
General Lei, who barely survived, shouted in terror.
“Escape! It’s not fast! Get into space!” The King of Devourers gave the order.
General Lei, the Gluttonous Warlord, immediately rushed out of the starship, his armored boots spewing flames and triggering a sonic boom.
He reached speeds of at least Mach 6!
He flew several dozen kilometers in one go.
In space…
That creature didn’t have space combat gear or flight capabilities. Did he manage to save his life?
Indeed, he did.
He managed to hang on.
Crack~~~
At some point, that strange and terrifying 096 appeared in space, holding its head.
It started munching on watermelon. The communicator transmitted General Lei’s piercing screams.
The King of Devourers’ expression turned extremely unpleasant. The strength of Feng Lei’s armor was nearly on par with his king-level armor, yet it couldn’t withstand it.
And!
The condition triggered by this monster isn’t even seeing its face!
It’s when it thinks you’ve seen its face!
Darn it!
Darn it with capital letters!
But before the King of Devourers could finish his internal complaint in his confused gaze. On the blood-soaked floor that was previously empty, with only remnants, the figure of 096 appeared once again.
Its mouth corners seemed to have remnants of General Lei’s flesh and blood. This guy returned to being well-behaved, walking around all alone.
The King of Devourers felt like he was losing his mind: “…”
