Chapter 20 - Formation of the Special Forces Team

Chapter 20: Crisis in Liangshan! Formation of the Special Forces Team

The Liangshan region was far from tranquil on this night. The rugged, narrow national road resounded with the roaring of diesel engines. Heavy tanks were mobilized and headed towards a specific area in Liangshan, with military jeeps leading.

Seated in the jeep’s passenger seat, a new recruit gazed ahead with curiosity. “Squad leader, why are we running to this place in the middle of the night? Could there be some kind of creature? I’m a skeptic, and creatures like that shouldn’t exist, right?”

“Once, I thought the same way. I believed that science could explain everything. But these past few days, look at that strange thing in the sky, and you saw the angels during the day, right? Can science explain those?” replied the seasoned soldier at the wheel as he took a drag from his cigarette.

“Yeah… Angels are showing up, and the world is getting more chaotic. Sigh… So, what will we do tonight?” The recruit sighed.

Indeed. The celestial canopy still hung overhead, but now it seemed quieted down. During the day, whether it was the celestial canopy or the live streams of some online broadcasters, angels and demons were seen. That angelic lady was unbelievably beautiful. Even the most stunning female celebrities on Earth would pale in comparison when standing in front of an angel, like an unremarkable duckling.

But… It wasn’t quite the same as seeing it with your own eyes. It always felt dreamlike, not entirely real. This phenomenon was challenging the scientific worldview that had been painstakingly established.

“I heard there’s some kind of creature in Liangshan, though I’m not sure about the details. It’s troublesome. We soldiers, to put it kindly, are the vanguard. To put it harshly, we’re expendable. So, kid, don’t rush forward recklessly. That’s as good as seeking death,” cautioned the veteran, exhaling a smoke ring as he squinted his eyes.

“So… so we soldiers won’t advance, and what about the civilians behind us?”

“Don’t worry. Our task from above is to assist the Super Special Forces Team and evacuate the civilians around Liangshan. We’d be walking into a deadly situation if there were monsters.” The experienced soldier patiently explained.

The Super Special Forces Team.

They heard of this team’s name but hadn’t encountered them. Rumors suggested they had been stationed with the South China Sea Fleet.

Du Qiangwei was a Super Special Forces Team member who previously appeared in the celestial canopy.

“Be cautious!”

Before the new recruit could continue talking, the veteran suddenly exclaimed.

Blinding flames erupted, accompanied by a loud explosion. The jeep was tossed away like a toy.

“Enemy ambush! Enemy ambush—target identified! Falcon is requesting backup! Requesting support!!” The soldiers’ cries of alarm echoed through the communication channel.

The tank’s cannon swiftly adjusted its aim. A dazzling fireball landed on the nearby treetops through the scope, but the object’s nature couldn’t be discerned. Then, a thunderous explosion followed. Amidst the astonished soldiers, a colossal club rapidly enlarged and effortlessly flipped the tank like a baseball bat!

“It’s a creature!”

“Ah! There are indeed creatures!”

“Oh my goodness! That furry Thunder God guy is a creature! Help!!”

“Protect the civilians! Protect the civilians!!”

Suddenly, the entire convoy descended into chaos.

A figure resembling a monkey, wielding a metal rod, leaped through the air, engulfed in flames. With each swing of his rod, he overturned a tank, and the artillery shells couldn’t match his speed.

This so-called heavy tank unit was utterly defenseless against this creature. High above, a military-owned Night Hawk helicopter was rapidly approaching.

Inside the cabin…

“That, um… Immortal sister! Can I really do this? Am I really a member of the Super Special Forces Team? It feels like a dream!” A burly man with a rough face, bulging muscles, and a somewhat fierce demeanor expressed his doubt.

Chuangzi, originally just a street thug in a certain district of Tianhe City, made a living by collecting protection fees and had even established control over several streets with his fighting skills.

But not long ago, a woman even better at fighting than him had emerged from thin air and quickly defeated him with just three punches. She then gave him an ultimatum—go to jail or join the Super Special Forces Team.

And now, Chuangzi had joined.

He recognized her. This “immortal sister” was the beautiful warrior previously seen on the celestial canopy.

Du Qiangwei’s face was cold, and her voice frosty, “Call me Commander or Sergeant Du Qiangwei! Rookie! If you say you can do it, then you can! You have the super soldier genes of the Shenhe civilization in your body. You won’t die.”

“Oh, Commander! What about them? These two delicate and beautiful girls, it would be such a shame if they got hurt by accident,” Chuangzi asked, his head slightly bowed, still intimidated by Du Qiangwei.

He had never expected to become the savior and star of humanity, especially given his past as a troublemaker with a criminal record.

Chuangzi hesitated, pointing towards the two incredibly attractive and charming girls in front of him, their lithe figures encased in black armor, which made him feel an irresistible urge to admire them.
