Game of Thrones: The Red Dragon Lord

Chapter 24: Chapter 24 Banquet

Finally, the black blood stopped flowing, and Gavin quickly injected magic power into the runes. The horrific wounds on the corpse began to heal at an astonishing speed. In just a few moments, they were as good as new.

Dasio, who had been dead all night, slowly opened his eyes, revealing pupils as scarlet as blood.

Gavin couldn't contain his excitement. He immediately ordered, "Stand up!"

The corpse slowly rose to its feet.

Gavin couldn't wait to open the panel. After reading the note asking to name the unknown creature, he thought for a moment and then decided on a name. "Blood Dragon Guard."

Gavin carefully studied the introduction and abilities of the Blood Dragon Guard, and then eagerly began his test.

He handed the sword he had prepared in advance to the Blood Dragon Guard and commanded, "Attack me."

Two minutes later, under Gavin's order, the Blood Dragon Guard stopped attacking, and Gavin began to assess the result. The creature's pure strength was far superior to Gavin's, though it was slightly lacking in combat swordsmanship and other skills. However, its ability was still impressive, reaching nearly half of the level of a master swordsman.

Gavin then used his sword to cause varying degrees of injury to the Blood Dragon Guard and ordered it to perform rapid healing. In less than a minute, all the wounds were completely healed, and the healing speed was clearly visible. Gavin carefully observed the Blood Dragon Guard's magic power and noted that the more severe the wound, the greater the consumption of magic power.

After completing the tests, Gavin was thoroughly satisfied with the Blood Dragon Guard's performance. Despite the cost, he decided to add the few energy points he had to the Blood Dragon Guard. In an instant, its transformation was visible. Its skin tightened, and its muscles grew significantly larger, becoming far more burly than before. Gavin watched as the Blood Dragon Guard stepped toward him, emanating a fierce energy.

Gavin quickly checked the Blood Dragon Guard's updated panel.

Type: Blood Dragon Guard

Level: Intermediate

Abilities:

Great Strength (Ultimate power under the blessing of the ritual)Rapid Self-Healing (Consumes magic power to heal wounds quickly)Combat Skills (Possesses 60% of the master's combat skills)Tough Skin (The skin is extremely tough and offers some defense)

After reviewing the panel, Gavin immediately repeated his previous tests on the upgraded Blood Dragon Guard. Compared to before, the creature's strength had significantly improved, and the "Tough Skin" ability had been added. Gavin scratched it with his sword and found that its defense was similar to that of leather armor.

It was now dawn. Gavin handed the clothes and weapons he had prepared for the Blood Dragon Guard, ordered it to put them on, and instructed it to hide deep in the woods. Gavin then drove the carriage back toward the camp.

When Gavin returned to camp, it was daybreak. Despite feeling tired from staying up all night, his excitement about the successful experiment made it impossible to rest. However, as soon as he stepped into his tent, fatigue overcame him. He longed to collapse into his bed and sleep. But fate had other plans.

The curtain of the tent suddenly opened, and Edmond walked in.

Edmond, noticing Gavin's exhausted state, smiled and said, "I heard you personally buried the dead gladiator last night?"

Gavin immediately responded, "Yes, sir. After all, he fought alongside me. I thought it would be better for me to bury him myself."

Edmond replied, "You don't have to work yourself so hard next time. That gladiator was just a desperado trying to earn commissions. From now on, leave this kind of thing to the soldiers." He glanced casually outside the tent, then waved his hand. Two more people quickly entered the tent.

Turning back to Gavin, Edmond spoke with a touch of concern in his voice, "In two days, there will be a banquet for the Tyrell family. Willas invited you, didn't you get the invitation? I'm sure you don't have the right attire, so let them measure you quickly."

After Gavin thanked Edmond for his kindness, he could barely hold back his sleepiness. He reluctantly cooperated with the two tailors who began measuring him.

The tailors worked skillfully, quickly moving the measuring tape across Gavin's body while murmuring the measurements to one another.

Just as Gavin's eyelids started to droop, the measurements were finally complete. Feeling drained, Gavin collapsed onto the bed and fell into a deep sleep.

Two days later, in the evening, Edmond led Gavin, now wearing a new outfit, to Highgarden's court. This was Gavin's first time entering the interior of Highgarden Castle, and he was immediately struck by the breathtaking beauty of the surroundings.

The entire castle was constructed from snow-white stone, glowing softly in the evening light. Walking through it felt like stepping into a vast garden, filled with lush trees, colorful flowers, and a sweet fragrance in the air. Birds chirped on the branches, their songs echoing in the peaceful surroundings.

They walked down a long corridor and arrived at the door of the banquet hall. Upon seeing Edmond, the waiter standing outside bowed respectfully and said, "Please wait, sir." He then entered the banquet hall and soon a loud voice called out, "Lord Edmund Cotoin from the Cotoin family has arrived."

After hearing the announcement, Edmond turned to Gavin, flashing a meaningful smile, and said, "Let's go. Maybe you'll find some new opportunities today." Without waiting for Gavin to ask, Edmond entered the banquet hall, leaving Gavin slightly confused but curious. He followed close behind.

Inside the banquet hall, Willas greeted them warmly. After a brief exchange of pleasantries, Edmond asked, "Where is the Duke? I'd like to meet him."

Willas smiled and replied, "My father has been waiting for you. Please allow me to escort you." He then looked at Gavin, offering a friendly smile. "Relax and enjoy the banquet. If you're hungry, there's food on the left side of the room. You can also call a waiter if you need anything. Enjoy yourself."

With that, Willas led Edmond toward the Duke, leaving Gavin to explore the banquet hall on his own.
