Heavenly System: Why Cultivate If I Have A System?

Chapter 6: Talentless Cultivator Cheat

In the previous world of Su Login, the System was commonplace for most of the population.

There were few people who didn't have the System, and it was hard to imagine what life would be like without it. The System was a game-changer in many ways, such as for reading books or building weapons with the Forge System.

The Intelligence attribute increased the speed at which the contents of books, manuscripts and sutras were understood, as well as how much could be absorbed and whether it was possible to read Legendary-level content.

Su Login understood that there was something in that world that was useful to mortals, like the System: cultivation. The ability to evolve with the help of the energy of heavens and earth, Qi.

Just like the Levels of the System, cultivation had its own way of indicating its users' progress: the Realms.

There were a total of six Realms in that world:

Qi Condensation, Foundation Establishment, Golden Core Formation, Nascent Soul, Void Refining and Immortal Ascension.

Each of the Realms had three Stages.

In a certain part of the book, Su Login read something superficially about cultivator sects, Magical Beasts and Formation Arrays, but his common book didn't go into that in depth.

Anyway, he had a brief interaction with that world and understood things that would be useful for survival.

It was a good idea not to have consumed that book; if I get another history book in the future, I'll certainly read it.

Now that he knew about cultivation, he knew that the Wooden Beak Swallow he had faced the day before was a Magical Beast with cultivation, and that it was probably at Qi Condensation I Stage.

Despite having a variety of attacks, the swallow was strong, which meant that Su Login wasn't entirely wrong in thinking that it was stronger because it had lived so long.

That Magical Beast had reached the Qi Condensation Stage after cultivating for hundreds of years in that forest, reaching another Realm made it very powerful, the young man was increasingly interested in filling his Qi bar.

But back to what he had learned from reading the book.

The System was interfering with the way that world interacted with Su Login.

Learning a spell like Stabilizing Roots, even though it was considered a basic spell, still required a lot of knowledge.

You had to understand the forests and lakes, have a strong determination and understand the trees in the end.

Su Login skipped all those steps and left it up to the System to answer the questions that arose in his mind when he started learning the spell.

In a crude term, the System was a cheat in that world, he thought at first, but soon realized that it was actually his way of going against his destiny.

After closing the book and returning it to his inventory, Su Login sat down in the position he saw in the book, the lotus position, and closed his eyes.

He breathed in and out slowly.

He felt something unusual in the region of his dantian and soon noticed that a blue aura began to surround his body.

Several blue lights began to come from the surroundings and disappeared as they touched Su Login's aura, as if they were absorbed.

I feel calmer doing this, but I still need to keep my guard up, I'm attracting more attention by doing this.

Su Login cultivated until the evening, noticed that doing this was more difficult than he thought, then understood that the usefulness of breathing techniques was to help in this process. He remembered consuming a breathing technique he had received in the Daily Login System.

As soon as he opened his eyes and undid his position, the blue aura around him disappeared and the small lights stopped coming towards him.

So he decided to look at his Status screen.

He had only evolved two points of Qi.

It was like receiving a new toy, but the toy in question was broken.

However, I can increase my Qi Gain attribute, even though I've already understood what's going on here.

He had read in the Common Cultivation History Book that there were four types of cultivators in that world: Non-cultivators, ironically, were cited as one type of cultivator. There were also the talentless, the ordinary cultivators and the Geniuses.

Without a doubt, Su Login was a talentless, which explained why he was so low in the hierarchy and was intimidated by bullies like the one he met when he was reincarnated in that world.

He could even be considered a non-cultivator, there was no way he could evolve much if he only earned two or three Qi points a day.

Considering that he only gained two points a day, if that world had a calendar like the one in his previous world, he would have 728 Qi points in one year.

He would need almost four years just to advance to Qi Condensation I Stage, the simplest stage for cultivators to reach.

It would be a bit of an exaggeration to consider that it would take 5,500 Qi points to advance to the second Stage, which meant that it would take almost eight years to get there.

And that difficulty would only increase the higher he got, it was no exaggeration to say that it was impossible for someone with no talent to become an Immortal.

Even if they tried hard, there was no way they could get there; the fate of someone with zero talent was set from birth.

Luckily, Su Login had his cheat that allowed him to fight against fate.

If he raised his Qi Gain as high as possible, he could even gain the same amount of Qi as an ordinary cultivator, or he could get stronger and kill stronger and stronger Magical Beasts.

Killing was faster.

When he defeated the Wooden Beak Swallow, he received a lot of Qi points, if he managed to kill a Magical Beast in a higher Realm, how much could he receive?

If his hypothesis was correct, he would also receive points for killing other human cultivators.

He wouldn't kill an innocent for no reason, but he would test this hypothesis if that trio of young men tried to intimidate him again when he came out of the forest.

That's it, I'll focus on getting stronger so that I can earn Qi points by killing Magical Beast, but sometimes I'll increase my Qi gain to use traditional cultivation as a hobby.

At night, near the entrance to the forest.

A young woman with a worried expression on her face was staring at the trees, her hands together, making movements that made her unease clear.

"Are you sure he'd have the courage to go into the forest? I know he's an idiot, but your brother isn't stupid."

"The senior brothers said they saw someone who looked like him, and it's been a long time since I've seen him in the temple courtyard."

There were two young women talking under the moonlight.

The one who spoke first had short hair, so she tied her red headband like a bandana around her forehead, and she had a bit of sarcasm in the way she spoke.

The other girl had a prettier face than the first, her long black hair reached her waist and she wore her red ribbon as a small bow next to her ear.

These were Mu Sae and Su Minwa.

The pair chatted informally, after all, the two had become friends from the first day they joined the sect.

At that time, Mu Sae had a very arrogant attitude and Su Minwa was the only one who dared to approach her. Since then, they had been good friends who always helped each other.

Su Minwa was worried about her brother, who had disappeared.

Su Login was a talentless young man, yet Su Minwa was very attached to him and wanted to protect him, as she knew he was constantly bullied by the other juniors who had recently joined the sect.

"I don't think you need to worry so much, even someone with no talent wouldn't die if he just hid at the edge of the forest. He's a coward, he'd never have the courage to go too deep."

Mu Sae had no mercy when talking about her friend's younger brother, she didn't like that he was giving her trouble, it would be better if he gave up cultivation and went home.

"Let's go back. Anyway, we'll have plenty of time to wander around the forest when we go to face the Peach Tree Trial."

Su Minwa nodded in agreement, although Su Login was important, she couldn't go into the forest without preparations and neglect her cultivation.

She was used to her brother running away when he was under a lot of pressure, but he had never entered the forest before.

"He'll be in trouble if he's torn the new robe I made for him."
