Chapter 4: Girlfriend (2/2)
"..." Rias had a confused look while looking at my mother, and seeing that I had left to get her something to drink as she had asked, she quickly checked to see if what lay on the bed before her was human or devil... and she was left confused as this wasn't a devil.
'how is a human suffering from Sleep Disease?' She thought in confusion. Only devils were at risk, yet a human for the first time in history was suffering from it.
"I didn't know you were in school to be a doctor," I said lightly, the main reason I brought her here was so I could see if her studies to be a future doctor could shine a light on these problems.
"Yeah..."Rias felt guilty lying, but she wasn't ready to come out with the fact she was a devil... it was an odd feeling really, since she was scared of being rejected because of that.
"I never found anything like this, I will have to ask my parents for help," Rias said to which I gratefully.
"No need for that, in a few days she should be getting better soon... I would offer for you to stay the night, but I fear I can't control myself with someone so beautiful under the same roof as me." I said lightly, making Rias's face turn bright red.
"Y-you right, it is getting late. I should get going." She said with a bright red face, to which I smiled lightly. Well, I went on to walk her home.
"So... you're handsome, are you the type to have multiple lovers?" Rias asked in a soft voice, causing me to look at her in confusion. In the supernatural world, harems were a gift for the strong. For the common people, Harems were something of the past or religions.
"I'm not a cheater. You're my first girlfriend... I'm guessing seeing you, I fell in love at first sight." I said lightly, making Rias smile sweetly as she had felt the same way.
"You're the second person I have ever felt like changing for... I'm not perfect, I'm cold, not motivated, and don't have huge dreams. Yet here I am thinking of preparing for our future." I said with a smile, amused with how weird love was... to think it would even affect me.
"No need for all of that, I can take care of us," Rias said with a blush knowing what her words meant, but I shook my head.
"Take as my ego not going to allow it, I don't want to come off as me taking your parent's money," I said lightly, causing Rias to want to say something before she realized she was planning on supporting us with her parent's money and not her capability... what bugged her most was the fact I instantly jumped to the fact she was planning on using her parents money.
"I said something wrong?" I asked with a raised eyebrow seeing her strange reaction, Rias opened and closed her mouth, not knowing what to say.
"Family problems?" I asked to which she paused for some time, before speaking.
"Yes... I kind of want to be my own person." Rias said not knowing how to put her goal into words at the moment.
"You're saying that when people see you, they are not really seeing you, but instead throw everything you do as something thanks to your family?" I asked to which Rias was stunned for a moment, but she nodded with a bitter smile.
"That's tough, but that's even more so when you subconsciously rely on your family... I don't know how to even start with that goal. That's even more so when people would not really care much how you reached a said point in your life. At the end of the day, unless you and your family have a life-and-death enmity, your achievement would reflect on your family for they raised you." I said lightly while looking at the moon.
"I guess the best way to see your goal is a way to prove to yourself that you can do everything on your own... but you are a bit spoiled, so how would you go about that?" I asked calmly, making Rias lower her head lightly at those words as they hurt.
"... Sorry, I don't know how to hold back my words. I say things as I see them, I'm still getting to know you, so I might be wrong." I said to which Rias shook her head with slight tears she was trying to hold back.
"N-no, you're right. I am a bit spoiled... I like your honesty." She said with a sad smile while removing her tears.
"I'm also not good with reacting to others' tears, I have no idea what I'm supposed to do," I said awkwardly, Rias laughed lightly seeing my reaction.
"... you're the first person to ever make me want to change as well. I guess I'm not also perfect, if you can admit it, so can I." She said with the most beautiful smile I have ever seen,
"Sorry, I didn't mean to make you cry," I said lightly, to which Rias shook her head.
"Your words were not said as a means of attack... I like your straightforwardness. If I can't hear you out, how can I ever expect you to hear me out?" She asked with a smile, leaving me blank for some time... I just fell in love with her all over again.
"... I-is something on my face?" Rias asked with a blush at how I was looking at her with such a gaze.
"I'm a person who looks for 3 things when looking for a partner, charm, personality, and my heart. For the first time in my life, you're the first person who I have ever fallen in love with." I said lightly,
"You're also the first person to ever make me self-reflect on my shortcomings... I guess what I'm trying to say is that... I might not be the perfect boyfriend, but I will try." I said lightly, to which Rias held my hands.
"Looks like we both are not perfect... which means we can both grow together." She said to which I looked at her hand for a moment, before smiling. We both looked at each other for a moment... before our lips slowly closed the gap. What would have been an innocent kiss turned into something more when Rias' tongue made its way into my mouth.
I of course welcomed her in, and under the bright full moon, our passionate kiss played out, a kiss not fueled by lust, but love. We hugged each other, seemingly wishing to draw each other closer than ever before.
The wind blew, picking up Rias' long crimson hair, making the scene magical, and with the full moon in the background, it looked like a scene right out of a story.
