Chapter 345: Chapter 345 : Days Of The Past 10
Orion moved quietly through the now-cleared streets of Paris, his footsteps echoing in the eerie silence that had settled after the veil's removal. Around him, battles raged between Grindelwald's followers and the Aurors, but he kept his distance, focused only on his mission to protect innocent lives. He was about to turn down another street when he caught sight of a familiar figure waiting in the shadows—Grindelwald himself.
'I wonder why its so quiet, this old guy wasn't back there fighting…'
Grindelwald stepped forward, his intense gaze fixed on Orion. "Well, I certainly can't say that I wasn't expecting you here," he remarked, a faint smile playing on his lips. "You're supposed to be a neutral party, are you not?"
Orion met Grindelwald's gaze evenly, not backing down. "I agreed to stay out of your political schemes and your fights," he replied calmly. "But I also agreed to help Newt and his friends if it meant keeping innocent people safe."
Grindelwald's smile didn't fade, but there was a sharper edge to it now. "So you removed my veil over Paris, purely to 'save' people?" His tone was mocking, no other feeling was in his eyes, but he glared at Orion like he was looking for something.
Orion nodded. "Yes. I came here to protect, not to join anyone's side."
Grindelwald let out a low chuckle, circling slowly around Orion.
"You have such power, it's envious how if you want then you can accomplish everything I ever wanted, all it will take is one swing of the wand…. And yet you insist on standing alone, wasting your abilities on these petty struggles." Grindelwald said, honestly looking frustrated.
"Do you know I decided all my life, went to every measure possible imaginable, and yet, I can't see your limit yet…
Tell me, what stops you from claiming the world for yourself." Grindelwald asked.
Orion stood there, wondering himself what it is which made him act like this ?
Really ! What stops him from just unleashing that almost boundless magic he has to do whatever he wants too..
Grindelwald waited for the answer until Orion finally open his mouth.
"I had a good teacher…"
He paused, out of all things he wasn't expecting that… Grindelwald finally understood the man in front of him.
Though immensely powerful, he have imposed many self-imposed restrictions upon himself.
His voice softening, persuasive. "You could accomplish so much more if you joined me. You know what I seek, and you know it's for a greater future. You'd be an ally like no other."
Orion shook his head firmly. "Your vision is yours, Grindelwald, not mine. I know what you seek, but believe me, I know where the route you have chosen will lead you. Don't think that eye of yours sees through everything… there are darkness which even that eye of yours can't see through." Orion said, though he wasn't planning on actually explaining it to Grindelwald but what he said once again pause Grindelwald. He remember that this man said something similar back then.
Grindelwald's smile faltered slightly, but he recovered quickly, giving a resigned sigh. "Pity, I can only hope that one day you can understand what I mean…" he said.
For a moment, they stood in silence, two powerful figures divided by unbridgeable ideals. Grindelwald tilted his head, an unreadable expression crossing his face. "You know, Mr Wick, one day, you may have to make a choice—one that isn't as simple as saving lives or staying neutral."
Orion's expression remained calm. "I know, and you are wrong, I already have made my choice. I'm just waiting for that day now."
Grindelwald gave one last piercing look before stepping back into the shadows. "I am sure our path will cross again…" he said quietly, his voice fading as he disappeared.
'Huh…. I feel Exhausted…'

As evening descended, a large crowd of wizards and witches gathered in a secluded part of Paris, their eyes fixed on the figure standing before them: Grindelwald. His gaze swept over the audience, and he began to speak passionately about his vision.
"The No-Maj, the non-magical," he declared, his voice commanding and filled with intensity. "They fear us because of our power. They seek to control us, to hide us away. But why should we remain hidden, forced to live in the shadows?"
The crowd listened in silence, a mix of awe and trepidation in their eyes. Grindelwald's words stirred emotions, and many seemed to nod in agreement. He continued, his voice filled with conviction, painting the non-magical people as a threat to their world, an enemy to be confronted.
But just as he reached the height of his speech, the Aurors arrived. The scene quickly shifted from a rally to a standoff as Aurors stepped forward, their wands at the ready, determined to put an end to Grindelwald's influence here and now. Grindelwald, however, didn't seem fazed. Instead of engaging in a direct battle, he raised his wand high and cast a powerful spell, "Protego Diabolica!"
A ring of intense blue flames erupted around him, forming a blazing barrier between his followers and the Aurors. The fire crackled, dangerous and alive, licking at the edges of the circle. Grindelwald turned to his followers and commanded, "If you are truly loyal, step through the fire."
One by one, his followers passed through the flames unharmed, a testament to their allegiance. But the moment Grindelwald himself disappeared into the shadows, the fire expanded, its blue tendrils reaching outward, threatening to consume the Aurors and any who opposed him. Panic erupted as the flames surged, scorching everything in their path.
Hidden nearby, Orion watched the scene unfold, his eyes narrowing as he saw the destruction that was about to ensue. Seeing the Aurors and others helpless against Grindelwald's deadly fire, he knew he couldn't stand idle any longer.
With a deep breath, Orion stepped forward, raising his hand toward the blazing circle of flames. His focus was sharp, his intent clear. Channeling his magic, he released a wave of power, sending it directly into the blue fire. The force of his magic collided with the flames, and, within moments, they began to waver, the intense blue fading as his magic extinguished them.
The fire died down, leaving only stunned silence in its wake. The Aurors and the gathered wizards looked at Orion in astonishment, realizing the magnitude of what he had just done or could do.
Grindelwald's powerful Protego Diabolica, a spell that could incinerate anyone who dared challenge it, had been erased in an instant.
Orion though, he just looked at the dying fire with bored look on his face. He just stood there, wondering how things turn so boring all of the sudden.
There used to be a time when he used to have fun, fighting…doing anything actually.
