Chapter 207: Chapter 204: Fujino: A Very Energetic Feeling August 21st.
That night, at the Fujino residence.
Fujino retrieved a folder from the archives room and sat down on the sofa.
"This is the result of the investigation from the past two days. Please take a look," he said, handing the file to a man sitting directly opposite him, dressed in a brown suit and wearing glasses.
"Hoo…"
The man took a deep breath, looking somewhat nervous.
He took the folder, pulled out the investigation report, and accompanying photos.
The photos showed a sophisticated woman entering a hotel with a chubby man.
After staring at the image for a while, the man's initially anxious expression gradually darkened, eventually turning into anger.
His blood pressure spiked, and veins bulged on his forehead.
"Ahem," Fujino lightly cleared his throat, poured a cup of tea, and handed it to the man. "Calm down. What's done is done. Getting angry won't help."
If he let his emotions get the better of him and died from a stroke, the value of his house would drop, and Fujino's commission would go down the drain.
"Hoo…"
The man took a sip of tea, taking a moment to calm himself. "You're right."
After collecting himself, he took an envelope from his pocket and handed it to Fujino. "I really appreciate your help, Detective Fujino. You found the results so quickly… Otherwise, I would've been in the dark for a lot longer, and just thinking about it makes me sick."
"No need to thank me. It's a detective's job to assist the client."
Fujino accepted the envelope, paused briefly, and discreetly transferred the final payment into his system space before pretending to pocket the envelope.
"Well, I won't disturb you any longer. If I need anything in the future, I'll come back."
With that, the man stood up and left.
"Let's hope no murder case arises," Fujino muttered as he walked to the window of his detective agency, watching the man's shadowy figure fade away.
Just two days ago, after attending the special task force meeting on Kaitou Kid, Fujino had thrown himself into investigating this infidelity case, hoping to resolve it before the 22nd.
Maybe it was due to the lucky coin, but he'd been fortunate.
Yesterday, using Eagle Eye, he found solid evidence of the affair and recorded everything using his enhanced vision glasses.
And then, the scene that had just unfolded happened.

The system's voice rang in his ears.
Hearing this, Fujino paused, poured himself another cup of tea from the infinite teapot, took a sip, and muttered, "Now, I guess it's time to deal with Kaitou Kid."
…
Meanwhile, in Kyoto, the lights shone brightly in a traditional courtyard.
"Are we heading to Osaka tomorrow?" A girl with tea-colored hair sat on the porch of a Japanese-style building, her eyes fixed on a newspaper headline: *High School Detective Fujino vs Kaitou Kid. This time, the stage is in Kansai, Osaka. Will our dark detective once again defeat Kaitou Kid?* Her gaze flickered.
She looked up at the nearby sound of flowing water and made up her mind. "This time, I won't let you leave without a word."
She waved at a man in a suit waiting nearby. "Iori, prepare the car. We're heading to Osaka tomorrow!"
"Yes, young lady," the man named Iori nodded, then hesitated. "Should I inform the honeymoon hotel we pre-booked?"
The girl paused, then waved her hand dismissively. "No need for that right now. After all these years, it's better to… Well, just give the hotel a heads-up. We'll sort out the rest later."
"Understood. I'll get everything ready."
…
August 22nd, Osaka.
Getting off the Shinkansen, Fujino stretched and took a deep breath of the somewhat smoggy air.
It was his second time in Kansai.
Thankfully, this time, there were no bomb threats on the bullet train.
Nor had he encountered any boxing-obsessed office ladies or naive sycophants.
"The air here is so fresh," said Ran, spreading her arms wide behind him.
Today, Ran was dressed in a blue dress with a cream-colored short-sleeved jacket, walking at the front.
"The air here is pretty good," Fujino said, adjusting his breathing and nodding in agreement.
Though there was some smog, it was far less than Tokyo's. In a way, the air here did feel "fresher."
Sometimes, having enhanced senses was more of a burden than a gift.
"Hah…"
Detective Mouri yawned, hands in his pockets.
Thanks to the Suzuki family's generous commission, he'd had quite the night out. If it hadn't been for Ran, he would've missed the train entirely.
"What could it be…"
Conan, meanwhile, lagged behind, still mulling over the details of the Kaitou Kid's notice.
Despite spending all night analyzing it, he hadn't been able to figure it out.
Which wasn't surprising.
Kaito Kuroba, the man behind Kaitou Kid, was a master of cryptic riddles. His notices were always hard to decipher.
Figuring out even part of it was a feat in itself.
But the remaining clues were so obscure that even Conan couldn't crack them. You'd need luck to stumble upon the answer.
…
The group took an elevator from the platform to the station lobby.
As soon as they got off the elevator, Fujino spotted Sonoko waving excitedly from a distance.
She waved and shouted, "Fujino-senpai! Ran! Over here!"
"Sonoko!" Ran hurried over. "Thank you for coming to pick us up."
"No problem! It's only natural since Fujino-senpai and Uncle Mouri are working for my family," Sonoko replied cheerfully. Then, as if noticing something, she circled around Ran curiously. "Ran, is that a new dress? I don't think I've seen you wear it before."
"Yeah, I just bought it a few days ago while shopping with my mom," Ran nodded, glancing at Sonoko. "Actually, your outfit looks great too."
"Really?" Sonoko beamed, showing off her orange short-sleeved shirt and pale green pleated skirt.
At the same time, she snuck a glance at Fujino.
Fujino: "…"
He noticed Sonoko's gaze and understood what it meant, but he was reluctant to say anything.
Sonoko had a nice figure; her shirt fit well, and her legs were quite shapely… But that large forehead kind of ruined everything.
After thinking for a moment, Fujino organized his thoughts and gave her a consolation compliment: "It looks good—very energetic."
"Hehe," Sonoko, oblivious to Fujino's inner thoughts, blushed at what she thought was praise.
Meanwhile, Ran seemed distracted, her gaze sweeping over Fujino as if trying to figure something out.
Fujino was dressed in a black suit with a long coat.
It seemed like a normal outfit…
But it was summer…
