Chapter 248: Three Fun Spells
After several days of practice, Prolo Hawthorne, Alice, and Delina Reba gradually grasped the essentials of the new spell.
They discovered that when they recited the spell and performed the corresponding gestures, the space around them seemed to shift subtly, and a mysterious energy began to stir within their bodies.
"Teacher, I feel like there's a strange force flowing inside me," Prolo Hawthorne said, excitement in his voice.
Alice nodded in agreement. "Me too. I feel so light, like I could just take off and fly any moment."
Delina Reba added, "I feel like my strength has increased, and my senses of magic are much sharper now."
Dean Bruce watched them with a smile. "Good. It seems like you've all grasped the essence of the new spell. But this is just the beginning. You'll need to channel this power and demonstrate it in the competition."
"Don't worry, Teacher. We'll definitely give it our best!" Prolo Hawthorne said confidently.
Alice and Delina Reba both nodded in agreement.
Time flew by quickly, and soon the day of the competition arrived. Dean Bruce, accompanied by Prolo Hawthorne, Alice, and Delina Reba, arrived at the competition venue. The atmosphere was buzzing with energy, filled with excited chatter from students of various academies who were preparing for the upcoming contest.
"Teacher, I'm a little nervous," Prolo Hawthorne whispered.
Alice clenched her fists. "Me too. My palms are sweating."
Dean Bruce patted them on the shoulder. "Don't be nervous. You've all done well so far. Just perform to the best of your ability, and you'll do great. But remember, what I just taught you was the first spell. I still have three more to teach you, so you'll need to practice hard."
"What? Three more?" Prolo Hawthorne asked, his face lighting up with excitement. "Dean, teach us quickly! We'll definitely learn it well."
Dean Bruce smiled slightly and nodded. He began chanting the second spell: "Little white rabbit, pure and white, with two ears standing up, loves to eat carrots and greens, hopping around, so cute."
As he recited the spell, Dean Bruce mimicked the hopping motion of a rabbit, making a series of comical gestures. Prolo Hawthorne, Alice, and Delina Reba couldn't help but laugh at the sight, but they quickly composed themselves and began following Dean Bruce, reciting the spell and mimicking his movements.
"Though this spell looks cute, it also contains powerful magical energy," Dean Bruce explained. "You need to practice it carefully and understand its deeper meaning."
Prolo Hawthorne, Alice, and Delina Reba nodded in understanding as they listened. They knew that Dean Bruce would never disappoint them, and that this seemingly cute spell certainly had its own unique power.
In the following days, aside from practicing the first spell, they also focused on mastering the second spell. Every time they recited the incantation and performed the corresponding gestures, they could feel a warm and gentle energy flowing through their bodies, making them feel happy and relaxed.
"Teacher, I feel like this spell helps improve our mood," Prolo Hawthorne said with a smile.
Alice nodded in agreement. "Yes, every time I recite the spell, I feel so much better, as if all my worries have disappeared."
Dean Bruce smiled as he looked at them. "Exactly. This spell has a healing power for the mind. During the competition, if you feel nervous or tired, try reciting this spell. It will help you regain your composure."
Prolo Hawthorne, Alice, and Delina Reba all expressed their gratitude upon hearing this. They knew that Dean Bruce not only taught them magic but also cared about their mental and physical well-being.
Time passed quickly, and before long, it was the eve of the competition. Dean Bruce called Prolo Hawthorne, Alice, and Delina Reba into his office to teach them the third and final spell.
"This is the last spell, and you must practice it well," Dean Bruce said seriously. "This spell is not only powerful, but also very practical."
With that, he began reciting the third spell: "Big watermelon, round and round, cut it open and it's all sweet. You have half, I have half, and we all eat and smile."
After reciting the incantation, Dean Bruce made a gesture as if slicing a watermelon, then pretended to hand out slices to everyone. Prolo Hawthorne, Alice, and Delina Reba were left dumbfounded, unsure of what power this spell could possibly have.
"Teacher, what is this spell supposed to do?" Prolo Hawthorne asked curiously.
Dean Bruce smiled mysteriously. "This spell has a powerful healing ability. If you're injured during the competition, simply recite this spell, and it will quickly heal your wounds."
Prolo Hawthorne, Alice, and Delina Reba were all shocked. They hadn't expected that such a simple spell could have such a strong effect.
"Teacher, let's practice it right away!" Prolo Hawthorne said eagerly.
And so, they began to practice the third spell diligently.
Although the spell seemed a bit silly at first glance, they knew that during the competition, it might just become their lifeline.
However, at the beginning of their practice, they felt quite confident and at ease.
But as they continued practicing, the situation began to feel increasingly wrong, as they all started to sense something unusual inside their bodies, and it was becoming very uncomfortable.
"Dean, teacher," Alice said, clutching her stomach in pain, her face pale, "I feel terrible. It feels like something is churning inside me."
Prolo Hawthorne and Delina Reba also displayed painful expressions and spoke in unison, "Me too, I feel uncomfortable all over."
Seeing this, Dean Bruce's heart sank. He hadn't expected that this seemingly simple spell would have such a side effect. Quickly, he rushed over to Alice and supported her, urgently asking, "What's wrong? Is something wrong with the spell?"
Alice shook her head weakly, "I don't know, I just feel so uncomfortable."
Dean Bruce furrowed his brow. He realized that this spell might not be suitable for everyone. He immediately told Prolo Hawthorne and Delina Reba, "Stop practicing for now, sit down and rest."
Prolo Hawthorne and Delina Reba quickly found places to sit, hoping to alleviate the discomfort in their bodies.
Dean Bruce supported Alice and gently patted her back, trying to comfort her.
"I'm sorry, Alice. I didn't expect this spell to have such side effects," Dean Bruce said, guilt rising in his voice. "It's my fault. I shouldn't have let you practice this spell."
Alice gave a weak smile. "It's not your fault, Dean teacher. I was just too eager, trying to master the new spell quickly."
Dean Bruce sighed, "Now is not the time to dwell on that. We need to figure out how to fix this."
After thinking for a moment, he suddenly had an idea. "Wait, I can use a healing spell to ease your discomfort."
He began to chant the healing spell and channeled his magic into Alice's body. As the magic flowed, Alice's pain gradually subsided, and her face regained some color.
"I feel much better, thank you, Dean teacher," Alice said gratefully.
Dean Bruce nodded. "I'm glad. Rest for now, I'll go find some herbs and brew a potion for you."
With that, he hurried out of the office. Prolo Hawthorne and Delina Reba, seeing this, also settled back to rest, waiting for Dean Bruce to return.
...
However, what Dean Bruce didn't know was how to actually solve the issue.
He went to a quiet, open area and asked the system, "System, what should I do?"
"Host, as this spell does not exist within the known magic system, I cannot provide a direct solution. However, you may try to soothe the unusual sensation within their bodies using gentle magic, and search for herbs with neutralizing effects to aid in alleviating the discomfort," the system replied.
Your next chapter awaits on empire
Hearing this, Dean Bruce felt a little relieved. He immediately began to channel his gentle magic, slowly infusing it into Alice, Prolo Hawthorne, and Delina Reba's bodies, attempting to soothe the uncomfortable sensation churning within them.
At the same time, he began searching the academy's herb garden for any plants that might have neutralizing effects. After a thorough search, he finally found a few herbs that could be potentially effective and quickly brewed them into a potion.
"Here, drink this," Dean Bruce said, handing the potion to Alice and the others with a concerned expression.
Alice and the others hesitated for a moment, but then drank it down in one go. As the potion went down, the strange sensation within their bodies gradually dissipated, and their complexions returned to normal.
"I feel so much better, thank you, Dean teacher," Alice said gratefully.
Prolo Hawthorne and Delina Reba also nodded, expressing their thanks.
Dean Bruce breathed a sigh of relief, quietly thankful. He knew that he had been careless this time and that in the future, he would have to be much more cautious when teaching new spells.
"I'm sorry for startling you all," Dean Bruce said sincerely. "In the future, I'll be more careful in choosing spells and how I teach them."
Alice and the others shook their heads. "It's alright, Dean teacher. We know you were doing this for our good."
Dean Bruce smiled slightly. "Thank you for your understanding. Now, it's getting late, so let's get some rest. We have the competition tomorrow."
With that, he led Alice and the others out of the office, and they each returned to their rooms to rest.
...
Three days later, the magic competition at the Magic Academy took place as scheduled.
