I Obtained The Abyssal Harbinger Mythical Class At Level 1

Chapter 10: Chapter 10: Weight of Death

Ethan walked through the bustling streets of Red Leaf Village, the anxiety among players palpable. Conversations about the inability to log out were rampant, but one question loomed above all else: What happens if we die here?

Determined to uncover the truth, Ethan decided to seek out players who might have answers. His title as the Abyssal Harbinger carried weight, and many were eager to speak with him, hoping he might have insights.

Ethan approached a group of players gathered near the Adventurer's Guild. Their expressions were tense, their voices hushed.

"Has anyone seen players disappear?" Ethan asked, cutting through their chatter.

A warrior in battered armor nodded grimly. "I saw a teammate die in the Forest of Shadows. One moment, he was standing there, bleeding out. The next, he vanished completely. No body, no items—just gone."

Ethan's jaw tightened. "And after that? Did you hear anything? A message? Anything at all?"

The warrior shook his head. "Nothing. It's like he never existed."

Another player, a mage, chimed in. "I heard rumors. Some say the system deletes them completely. Others think their consciousness might still be trapped somewhere, but no one knows for sure."

Ethan's frustration grew. Despite the stories, there were no definitive answers, just speculation and fear.

As Ethan continued his investigation, he found himself in the company of a small group of players huddled in a corner of the market. They looked terrified, clinging to each other as if their lives depended on it.

"We've decided to stick together," one of them explained. "Safety in numbers. If someone dies, maybe we can figure out what happens before it's too late."

"Do you really think that'll help?" Ethan asked.

The player shrugged. "We don't know. But dying alone… that's even worse."

The desperation in their voices was clear. The game's uncertainty had turned every encounter into a life-or-death scenario.

Ethan's reputation as the first to clear the Abyssal Dungeon made him a figure of both hope and envy. Players swarmed him with questions, seeking guidance.

"You've been to the Abyss," one player said. "You must know something about death, right? Did you see anything there?"

Ethan shook his head. "The Abyss is dark, but it doesn't hold the answers we're looking for. At least, not yet."

Back in the Adventurer's Guild, a heated argument erupted between two groups of players.

"This is all a game!" one player shouted. "They wouldn't actually kill us in real life. It's just to scare us!"

"You don't know that!" another player retorted. "We can't risk it. If dying here means dying out there, we need to be more careful. We can't take any unnecessary risks!"

The room fell silent as everyone considered the weight of the second player's words. Ethan stood in the corner, observing. The fear was tangible, infecting everyone.

Suddenly, a chime echoed in everyone's mind, followed by a glowing notification in their status windows.

[Global Announcement: From the Creator]

"Attention, all players. This is a warning.

Death in this world is final. If you die here, your real body will also perish.

The only way to return to your world is by completing the game.

Good luck."

The announcement vanished as quickly as it appeared, leaving a deafening silence in its wake.

The Adventurer's Guild exploded into chaos.

"This can't be real!" a rogue shouted, slamming his fist against the wall. "They can't do this to us!"

"They've turned this into a death game," a healer whispered, her voice trembling. "Why? What kind of sick game is this?"

"This isn't a game anymore," Ethan muttered under his breath.

The revelation sent shockwaves through the player base. Panic spread like wildfire as players realized the stakes. Fear gripped their hearts, and anger bubbled to the surface.

"How are we supposed to trust the system now?" another player demanded. "How do we even know completing the game will let us out?!"

Ethan clenched his fists. The weight of the announcement pressed heavily on him. His Abyssal Harbinger class had made him stronger than most, but even he wasn't immune to the fear of death.

Ethan left the guild, needing space to think. The village, usually bustling with life, felt suffocating. He found a quiet spot near the outskirts, staring out at the distant horizon.

"Dying here means dying out there," he muttered to himself. "And completing the game is the only way out."

The responsibility of his newfound power weighed on him. He couldn't let fear consume him, but he also couldn't ignore the plight of the other players.

I need to find the truth, he thought. If this game wants to trap us, I'll break every rule, exploit every system, and uncover every secret to set us free.
