Chapter 10
Chapter 10
[ Tutorial Chapter One – Adaptation ]
– The third wave is starting.
– Defend against the monster wave and prove your worth.
As the remaining time hit zero, new monsters naturally appeared.
While the first and second waves had left everyone confused, this time was different.
Everyone was resolutely preparing to face the monsters’ attack.
And at the center of it all—
“Everyone, stay strong! Stick to the plan, and no one will get hurt!”
Yoo Seo-ah, the camp’s implicit leader, was there.
Responding to her rallying cry, people gripped their weapons tightly, united in spirit.
“Eek! Eek-eek, eek!”
“W-were those monkeys?”
The main force of the third monster wave, Brown Monkeys.
Coming from the direction of the rocky mountains, these creatures were about 1 meter tall, each clutching something firmly in their hands.
From sharp stone tools made by splitting rocks, to stone axes with rocks tied to sticks, and even spears sharpened to a point.
They wielded their weapons confidently, almost like humans.
“Don’t panic! If we follow the plan, we can handle this!”
With Yoo Seo-ah calming the people, the real battle began.
The monkeys swung their weapons, while people in the front line blocked with thick wooden sticks.
Those in the rear thrust out their prepared wooden spears.
Thud!
“Screech!”
Shields and spears.
It was a classic method, and though the equipment wasn’t in the best condition, there was no better way to deal with monsters.
With the first attack, four or five monkeys fell, and confidence surged on the people’s faces.
However—
“Screech!”
“Squeak!”
“Eek!”
“T-There are too many of them!”
The number of enemies had significantly increased compared to the first and second waves.
There were already more than thirty visible monkeys, and more were emerging from beyond the rocky mountain.
As the number of enemies grew, the formation naturally became unstable.
And now was the time.
“Begin.”
It was Se-Woon’s turn to shine.
“H-hyung, are you sure about this? I told you, I’m really slow!”
Thud.
“Argh, damn it!”
Holding a bright yellow banana he somehow found, Park Jung-pil was forcibly pushed forward.
As Park Jung-pil, clutching the banana, was thrown among the monkeys, their immediate reaction was revealed.
“Screech?”
“Screech?”
‘Those things are crazy about bananas.’
It was something Se-Woon knew from his memories before the regression.
Though they were omnivores, their favorite food was still the bananas that grew in the forest.
Fruits they couldn’t easily access due to the forest wolves. Seeing a human holding what they considered food must have been too tempting to resist.
“Screeech!”
“Screeeeak!”
The monkeys, excited, started chasing after Park Jung-pil.
Thanks to the distraction, the people struggling in the battle found their situation improving.
“Arghhhh!”
As planned, Park Jung-pil began running for his life, luring the monkeys away. Though, in his current state, he probably forgot about the plan.
‘He’s faster than I thought.’
At least he didn’t get caught right away.
Despite calling himself the “Turtle of Daesan-dong,” Park Jung-pil’s legs moved faster than anyone’s.
Already, more than twenty monkeys were trailing him.
“Hyungggg! Save me! I can’t run anymore!”
“Come this way.”
“I’m already comingggg!”
“Screech!”
“Screech, screech, screech!”
Watching him running with nearly thirty monkeys in tow, Se-Woon was reminded of the Pied Piper.
Buzz!
The mana circle around Se-Woon’s heart spun rapidly.
It was time to use the mana circle he had created before the monster wave started.
– Opened the Treasury of Greed.
[ Fireball ]
– The signature spell of the skilled mage, Daelin Maychalt, from the Red Tower. It can be used regardless of the circle level, and its destructive power varies greatly with the amount of mana infused.
Whoosh!
A flame appeared in front of Se-Woon’s hand.
As the circle spun rapidly, all the mana accumulated before the wave was infused into the flame.
This was entirely different from the Ember of Kasha he used the previous night.
The fireball l had grown beyond the size of a fist, becoming large enough to be compared to Se-Woon’s upper body.
Although it was just a 1st Circle spell, he had poured all his mana into it.
“Jung-pil, move aside.”
“Huh? What do you mean! Arghhhh!”
Se-Woon threw the fireball forcefully, like a baseball.
As Park Jung-pil screamed and hurled himself aside, the monkeys trailing behind him became the target.
“Screeech?”
The monkeys, distracted by the banana, noticed the fireball only then.
But it was too late to evade.
Boom!
The moment the fireball made contact with the first monkey, a violent explosion occurred.
Normally, a fireball wouldn’t have such destructive power, but the one Se-Woon used wasn’t an ordinary fireball.
It was a modified version from Mammon’s treasury.
Thanks to that, all thirty monkeys were consumed by the flames.
The ones at the very center vanished without a trace, and those at a distance had their fur set ablaze, screaming in agony.
They desperately rolled on the ground, but the magical flames wouldn’t die out easily.
Thus, with a single attack, about thirty monkeys were annihilated.
“H-hyung. What is this? Magic? This has to be magic, right? Insane!”
Park Jung-pil wasn’t the only one astonished. The people fighting the monkeys were also staring at Se-Woon.
“Magic?”
“This isn’t a fantasy novel…”
“Well, considering the system messages and monster waves, it’s not much different from a fantasy novel.”
“Then maybe we can use it too? Magic?”
“M-Maybe?”
With over half the enemies eliminated in one go, the battle flowed more smoothly for the people.
Even though Se-Woon had used all his mana, his primary combat style was close combat.
If Se-Woon joined the fight now, the wave would likely end in just a few minutes.
However—
‘They should handle the rest.’
Se-Woon decided not to step in.
If he intervened now, it would just rob the others of the chance to gain experience. Moreover, constantly stepping in might make them overly reliant on him.
Although this was an opportunity to earn points, Se-Woon chose otherwise.
‘Anyway, I can earn points outside.’
Hidden pieces weren’t just in the Wolf Forest.
There were likely similar hidden pieces on the hill where the wild boars emerged and the rocky mountain where the monkeys appeared.
Resolving those first was the top priority now.
– The ‘Brown Monkey.’ has been devoured.
– Absorbing its nutrients increases Strength by Agility by 3.
– Absorbing its nutrients increases Strength by Agility by 0.3.
…
– The Constellation, ‘Hungry Prince,’ is very satisfied, saying the food has cooked perfectly crisp.
– The Constellation, ‘Hungry Prince,’ takes a bite of the roasted monkey and lets out a loud cheer!
Se-Woon, having used the Power of Gluttony, turned his back.
Just as he was about to move, Park Jung-pil, regaining his composure, spoke up.
“H-hyung! Truly amazing! Magic, wow! I think it was a good decision to follow you!”
“Is that so?”
“Absolutely! I, Park Jung-pil, will serve you for life!”
“Alright, let’s keep working well together.”
“Of course! If there’s anything you need, leave it all to me!”
“That’s good. I was worried you might refuse. Keep the banana. You’ll need to run a lot in the next wave as well.”
“Yes! I’ll run a lot… Huh?”
As if ending the conversation, Se-Woon started walking toward the hill.
And behind him—
“Run again…?”
Park Jung-pil, holding the banana, looked at Se-Woon’s back with a pitiful expression.

[ Tutorial Chapter One – Adaptation ]
– Successfully cleared the third wave.
– All participants in the wave are awarded 50 points.
Shortly after Se-Woon left, the wave ended successfully.
‘It ended faster than I thought.’
Although he had significantly reduced the number of monkeys, he had expected it to take over ten minutes, yet they defeated all the enemies in less than five minutes.
This was a sign of how much the people’s mindset had changed.
Soon, the individual merit points were tallied.
[ 1st: Jeong Se-Woon – 2,480 points ]
[ 2nd: Yoo Seo-ah – 340 points ]
[ 3rd: Kang Han-cheol – 320 points ]
“Oh, interesting.”
His own points aside, the rankings of the second and third places had changed—Yoo Seo-ah and Kang Han-cheol.
“Well, even cheap weapons are still proper ones.”
Before the regression, Yoo Seo-ah had risen to the rank of a ‘Ranker,’ known as ‘Whirlwind.’
Before arriving here, she had been learning swordsmanship on Earth.
While Kang Han-cheol’s physicality was undeniably strong, he stood no chance against a trained swordswoman.
“Squeak?”
“Wheeek!”
As Se-Woon ascended the hill, more wild boars than expected came into view.
The boars, heads buried in the ground as if searching for something, charged aggressively the moment they noticed Se-Woon.
A reckless charge, indeed—almost suicidal.
An ordinary person might have fled in fright at the sight of such a menacing charge.
Sshk—
But ordinary Brown Boars were no match for Se-Woon.
Dodging the charge with the footwork of Ten Path Leg Technique he swung his sword using refined Hamel’s Swordsmanship, felling the boars like scarecrows.
– Your level has increased.
When Se-Woon had made it halfway up the hill, a brief flash enveloped his body.
Due to the tutorial’s nature, which only involves dealing with limited monsters, it’s typically expected to level up by the fifth wave. However, Se-woon had already achieved Level 3 by just the third wave.
With the Power of Gluttony added to it, his stats had already surpassed those of a beginner.
How long had it been?
Having swiftly cleared the boars on the hill, Se-Woon arrived at the highest point, where his target came into view.
“Wheeek!”
“Let’s finish this quickly. I don’t want to waste time.”
A creature taller than Se-Woon, with thick skin barely concealing its robust muscles.
The boss monster of the boars,‘ The Boar that Rips the Hill,’ snorted, exposing its hefty molars.
