I WAS PIXELATED!

Chapter 19: Inside the Stronghold (Part III)

Gim managed to find his way back to where he started as the light from the library above could be seen. He wasn't sure how many levels he had gained or how many pieces of his armor he could enchant due to no physical indication of his experience levels. He climbed the ladder back up, a feeling of relief washing over him. When he finally made it up he placed his hand on the nearby bookshelf. "Can't believe I'm glad to see you again." He walked to the front of the room taking a left where the enchanting table sat. He took off his helmet and hovered it above the book. The pages started turning and the mistifying glow from earlier appeared and blinked in a pattern. Soon his diamond helmet glowed with a new energy and just like his sword he knew what the helmet was enchanted with. 'Protection IV, Fire Protection IV, and Respiration III.' He put his helmet back on, and enchanted his other pieces of armor. Gim ended up with an enchanted diamond chest plate and enchanted diamond boots. The book didn't budge when he tried doing the same for his iron leggings. Gim shrugged not minding too much as the iron was more disposable and a very common ore.

He walked over to the last row of bookshelves and stood there, looking around. The room he had just come from was completely destroyed, and the room before that was basically a dead end, having nothing but empty prison cells in it. He was sure he was missing something crucial in the library. 'Unless the way forward is down in that place?' Gim wondered. He looked above him, trying to see if he missed something. There was nothing besides the bright wooden chandelier though. He had already walked through every aisle so there was nothing he had missed. Gim groaned and started walking back to the third row.

"Well at least my armor is more powerful now." He said. With that he began making his way down. "Still, it doesn't do anything about slight megalophobia." He mumbled. When he finally made his way down, he decided to go backwards instead of the way he originally traveled. He took off his backpack and pulled out a piece of bread then put it back on. He munched on the bread as he walked, helping him calm his nerves. The sound of bones clattering against each other echoed in front of him as a skeleton holding a bow came into view. The skeleton glared its empty sockets at Gim and shot an arrow at him. Gim deflected it with the back of his sword and sliced the skeleton in half and the bones fell to the ground. After a few more minutes of walking he could finally see a large wall with a single door in the center. Gimmick scoffed, feeling a bit annoyed at the fact that he had wasted so much time earlier. "So going forward is an endless room, and going backwards is the right way? What the hell!" Nonetheless, he opened the door and entered the room.

Inside was a stone brick room that was lit up by small pools of lava on the floor. The room itself was pretty small, with a few niches on the walls covered by iron bars. In front of him were stone brick stairs that led up to a platform of a rectangular frame of strange cream-colored stone. The stone had the same pattern as sourdough. On top of each stone block was a teal ring centered with a darker shade in the middle. He recognized the place and the blocks. They were end stone portal blocks. He had finally made it to the portal room.
