I’m Not an Earthworm, I’m an Earth Dragon

Chapter 30: Resupplying

I opened my eyes to a rustling sound and saw Myungho, who had gotten up and was organizing the writing instruments and papers he had taken out last night.

“Oh, you’re awake? Sorry, I should have been a little quieter. Yawn… Anyway, good morning.”

He shook his head, seemingly tired, and greeted me. I mean, I’m pretty sure it was night before I closed my eyes.

How long has it been since I slept so soundly without waking up once in the middle of the night? I couldn’t even remember if that had ever happened. Even when I lived in the mountains, even when I lived with my mother.

I used to be startled awake by the cries of beasts in the early morning. I should say I’ve never had such a comfortable sleep as now.

“I was going to get up anyway. Huff… Ah. Cha.”

I stretched my upper body up while lying face down, then returned to my original position. I also lifted my lower body up and then returned it to its original position.

It’s so stuffy to sleep on my stomach like this. I felt like my body wouldn’t listen to me if I didn’t stretch in the morning, so stretching after waking up was my routine.

I stretched my stiff body from the night, curled my toes, made a cracking sound, and got out of bed.

Fortunately, I didn’t seem to talk in my sleep, and the bed was in the same condition as last night, except for a slight snag. I stretched some more and swung my tail around to relax my body.

Myungho’s face was a little red as if he had seen the whole process. Well, he said he was a man. I didn’t say anything because I knew it couldn’t be helped.

I wouldn’t have liked it if he had made some lame excuse, but I don’t dislike honesty.

Above all, other guys’ gazes are kind of dirty, but Myungho’s is kind of cute. Just, when I look at him, it’s awkward and makes me laugh.

“…Alright. Just… um. Don’t do that in front of others. I’m asking you. Whatever you think… people think what they want.”

He told me not to take that posture in front of others, maybe he was worried. He didn’t tell me not to do it in front of him, so I guess he doesn’t dislike it.

His intentions were so obvious that it was rather funny. Still… that’s right. I answered that I understood since there was no need to create unnecessary trouble.

“Then… are we leaving now? We bought a map, and we bought things.”

“I guess so. But we still have some things to buy, and we haven’t decided on the way to the ruins yet, so there’s no need to pack yet. I’ll go wash my face for a second… Can you tell Yuna and Akash to come down?”

I don’t know the language. But as if he had read my mind, he said they would understand if I said ‘come down’ and left the room.

“Mitro… come down.”

No. Something’s not right. But I couldn’t figure out what the difference was, so I decided to just be confident. They’ll understand.

When I went to their room, Yuna was checking if her steel arm was working properly, and the wizard was looking at a book and a map.

“Altera? Where did Myungho go, and why are you here?”

“He’s probably still sprawled out asleep. Who cares. What. What brings our barbarian princess here?”

Yuna was surprised, and the wizard was indifferent. That guy seemed indifferent to everything in the world. Rather, Yuna, who rarely had mood swings, seemed more emotional.

“Mitro, come down.”

I said what I had to say and went back down to the first floor. Even if they didn’t understand, it’s not my fault. I definitely told them.

Even though it was morning, the adventurer’s guild was lively. This was also a scene I hadn’t been able to see. Of course, there were many people whenever I went to the adventurer’s guild…

But they were all aiming for my neck. I wouldn’t call that normal.

…In other words, all kinds of people are gathered here. Those fighting in front of the bulletin board. A young one who seems to be a newbie, looking around blankly, a woman like a waitress carrying alcohol.

And the one hitting on the woman. There was a guy who was sticking around and bothering her. This must also be a part of the adventure.

There was a woman who liked it, and a woman who pushed him away, hating it. The guy who hit on the receptionist came straight to me when he saw me.

Hmm. Should I teach him a lesson? When I approached, his expression brightened and he started babbling. I don’t know the language, but it must be dirty.

I punched the guy who was approaching to hug me in the solar plexus.

He probably didn’t expect this, and his eyes were filled with horror instead of joy. Although it soon rolled up and became invisible.

I had no intention of catching him as he fell towards me, so I just let him fall to the floor.

The guild became quiet for a moment, but well. It’s none of my business. I don’t care if he hits on other women, but if he’s going to hit on me, he should be prepared to risk his life.

“…Puhahaha, I knew it! Stupid.”

With someone’s burst of laughter, the guild became noisy again. I kicked the fallen guy with my foot and moved him to a suitable place. After a while, everyone came down from upstairs.

Myungho, who was more moist than before, and the rest of the party members. I wondered why it took so long, but when I heard what Myungho said to me, I understood why.

“Altera, did you really tell them to come down? They were still in the room after I washed up…”

“I definitely said Mitro come down. They should have understood.”

They didn’t understand. But I’m confident. Because I definitely said it. Myungho slapped his forehead and sat down in a chair. Well. He shouldn’t have left it to me.

“Not Mitro, but Mi Teu Ro. I know it’s hard to pronounce… No, I’m sorry. I’ll just do it myself next time…”

Yeah. I also like the attitude of admitting mistakes. Akash was saying something and sneering, and Yuna was still half asleep, flapping her long ears.

“Well, teaching a lizard isn’t easy. Try your best. Anyway, after thinking hard, there are two paths. One is to go straight through the mountain range, and the other is to go around the mountain range. Which one do you want?”

“The shortcut is closer, right? Then I want to take the shortcut… We have to cross the Zikreu Mountains… Hmm… Can we do it?”

Myungho looked at me and showed a skeptical reaction. Just how difficult is it?

“We can do it. She filled the river in an instant, so she can fill the rift if she tries hard. It’s two weeks if we go straight, and two months if we go around. What do you want to do?”

Myungho repeated the words ‘two weeks’ and ‘two months’ while contemplating. Just how difficult is that place? Let me know too.

“…Zikreu Mountains? What, is it a den of monsters? Or is it a very difficult place?”

“Both. No, the monsters are weaker than the invisibility spider… but the terrain is very rough. There is a huge canyon that runs through the mountain range. Rumor has it that it is the trace of the sword when two giants fought in ancient times… It’s really that wide and deep.”

It was both. So that’s why he was muttering like that.

Even though I clearly understood what he meant, the fact that I couldn’t even imagine what it looked like meant that it must be quite difficult. Still, it felt like exploring a fantasy, so I was a little excited.

…Two weeks. That’s a bit of a concern. Well, I can just work hard and get through it before then.

“Well. Then the answer is obvious. Let’s cross the mountain range.”

“Altera votes to cross the mountain range. What about the others? I… want to go around.”

“Coward. Just cross it. Didn’t you see what that lizard did?”

“I think it’s better to cross it too. We have enough equipment, and above all, I heard a rumor about a ruined city in that mountain range.”

“Ugh… Okay… Then let’s cross it… We’ve decided on the path… I’ll go buy some potions. If anyone needs to buy anything, buy it now. We won’t be able to stop by a village for a long time.”

The result of the meeting was to cross the mountain range. I didn’t have much to buy, so I thought about going back to my room, but it would only be boring, so I just followed Myungho.

“Welcome, adventurer. Did you come to buy potions? Or herbs or bandages?”

“Yes. Do you have any healing potions made by refining troll’s blood?”

“No… Such high-quality items were all bought by a subjugation team that said they were going to catch a dragon a few days ago… Come to think of it, I haven’t heard from them, I wonder what happened to them…”

Myungho looked at me and smiled awkwardly. Well.

“Then… Please give me 5 of the best quality ones you have left. And 2 mana potions.”

“Yes, here… By the way, your companion is beautiful. Are you interested in buying beauty products? It looks like you’re going on a long journey, and even a beautiful appearance can be easily ruined on such a journey.”

“…Then just one.”

“Yes. Then it’s 1 gold in total.”

Myungho said he should have saved some money and handed over a slightly discolored gold coin.

After leaving the store, Myungho handed me a small bottle. It’s like some kind of oil. It doesn’t look like a potion no matter how I look at it, so I asked what it was, and he just told me to apply it lightly every morning.

What a strange guy.

When we returned to the guild and waited, the others soon came back with a lot of things they had bought.

“Did you buy everything? Then let’s pack up and go. There’s a village on the way, so we can rest there for the last time and cross the mountain range.”

So, Myungho had a plan of his own.

The thought of embarking on another adventure, wondering what I would see this time, made me excited as I headed upstairs.
