chapter 27
27 – Lily’s Shady Plan – 8
In the first period, I was shaking my legs the whole time. Could it be that Seol-A slept a little late? So maybe it’s too late?
2Nd period, during her break, I confirmed that she hadn’t come yet. It’s strange that no matter how late I sleep, it doesn’t come by this time. I started biting my nails. Tension and worry were at their peak, so I wanted to bite anything in my mouth. I discovered a quirk I didn’t even know existed. This is like Hestia.
At lunchtime, I visited the female dormitory with Hestia. With things like this, I regret not listening to Hestia last night. I should have just gone straight to her while she was talking.
I caught the maids in the dormitory and asked where Seol-ah was. The answer came back, of course. When I grabbed the 4th person and asked him, I was able to catch at least a trace of her.
“You haven’t come in since yesterday afternoon. What are you doing? Of course, I thought you had asked for an overnight stay.”
“Since yesterday afternoon?”
My hair went white. You disappeared from yesterday afternoon?
“Mikhail? Mikhail! Calm down. Where is the person who told me to calm down yesterday!”
Hestia, seeing me absentmindedly, grabbed my shoulder and shook it wildly. Her body shakes wildly
“Hestia? Okay, stop, stop!”
I grabbed her hand and managed to pull it off.
“Have you calmed down now? Since that person was present today, the situation is not urgent right now. We need to calmly assess the situation.”
Hestia said calmly. Just as she said, Wilhelm went to school with a nonchalant face, and the things we were worried about won’t happen right away.
I remembered what Seol-ah had said in our last meeting.
‘I will probably have an accident within this month. If I’m absent from school, I just need to follow Wilhelm, who is leaving school that day.’
‘If the trailing fails, I’ll have to search all the vacant buildings near the school, but maybe going to the Bokdeokbang near the school and looking for the recently contracted building will save me quite a bit of time.’
‘Your role is the most important. I don’t think anything good will happen if it’s too late.’
Getting excited now won’t help anything. The first priority is to wait for the academy to end and follow Wilhelm. This is how Seol-Ah took it out. Perhaps Mikhail in the original work also caught Wilhelm’s tail this way.
“Thank you. I calmed down for now.”
I cooled my head a bit. After hearing Hestia’s words, I calmed down a bit. She expressed her gratitude to her. If she hadn’t stopped it, she would have run out of the academy right away, and she would have missed the opportunity by doing research alone that yielded no income. As Seol-ah said, the most important thing right now is my role. You never know what might happen if it’s too late.
Even if it was Seol-ah’s plan for something to happen, I have no intention of condoning it. It’s okay to have random thoughts. I can’t quite agree with her way of thinking that the whole world is a lie and only the two of us are true, and of course I don’t intend to agree with her twisted plans that sprung from that idea.
Although this world is a world in a novel and follows the contents of the novel as it is, the people in this world are not mere characters. He is a living, breathing person. Even though this world is a world set in a novel, and I take advantage of that, I don’t want to treat even the people around me as mere fictional characters. Hestia, Cordelia, and even Wilhelm feel to me no different from the people of Earth. It’s a separate issue from likes and dislikes. I can hardly regard them as mere puppets.
Hestia, who saw my true self, brushed her chest.
“I’m glad. In the end, the only one who can stop him is you, Mikhail. As much as his position is his position, he has a hard time trusting the guards.”
He is not the second generation of chaebol in the movie, but the prince of the empire in the novel. Considering that this is a world of creative works, it is difficult to expect the intervention of public authorities unless a low-level guard with an exceptional sense of justice appears somewhere. As long as the main character does not belong to the public authorities, the police and guards in the novel are all like that. Who cares about Sherlock Holmes, where Inspector Lestrade solves all the cases.
“First of all, I’ll have to wait and follow him secretly as soon as class ends. Hestia, look for a building near the academy that has recently changed hands. After the rough investigation, wait at the school gate. If I fail to follow you, from then on, you’ll have to run around and find out.”
In the end, I am the one who has to solve the problem. Seol-ah also said so. First of all, I shared roles with Hestia in advance. I don’t want to think about it too much, but I have to think about it if I fail to follow.
After that, Hestia and I calmly waited for dismissal time. I couldn’t concentrate in class because I was so distracted.
“Then, I’ll be back. You must succeed.”
It’s finally time to move.
Hestia stood up first after holding my hand and praying for her success. It’s to investigate the nearby buildings I requested earlier. In fact, she probably doesn’t have very good feelings for Seol-ah. And yet, seeing her move so devotedly in her crisis even makes her feel respected. There was a saying that marriage should be with someone you can respect, but she agrees with her 100 times.
After sending Hestia, I sat and waited for Wilhelm to wake up. Fortunately, he doesn’t seem to care about me. Rather, it feels more stable than usual. His expression is unimaginable that he is the one who kidnapped the woman he likes and imprisoned her somewhere.
‘Are you really a psychopath?’
I chewed on Wilhelm inwardly. He finally got up from his seat. I slowly followed him, keeping an eye on him. Anyway, since Wilhelm and I live in the same dormitory, it’s not surprising that we are going in the same direction.
Wilhelm left the main building, and sure enough, he started moving toward the school gate, not the dormitory. I also followed him pretending nothing happened. It’s okay up to here. After class, students head to the shopping street outside the academy to overflow.
He stepped into a dark, gloomy back alley with great pride, without a hint of looking around. It looks like he hasn’t noticed my tailing at all yet. If I were the crown prince, I don’t think I would be able to walk around like that confidently, even if I’m afraid of stares.
I also hid among the crowd and entered the back alley where Wilhelm headed. The back alley he headed toward was more shady than I thought. Narrow gaps between buildings, alleys where even sunlight does not enter well. It’s hard to believe that if you go just a few meters further, you’ll find a street that’s lively with students and merchants.
Wandering through the narrow alleyways, he finally arrived at the place,
“Aren’t you a f*cking crazy bastard?”
It was Changgwan. A man who appears to be a pimp stands guard at the entrance, and naked women are sitting on the bright red windows behind him. Involuntarily, swear words came out of my mouth.
What the f*ck was that bastard thinking here? More than that, why is there a window in front of the academy? It feels like your brain is shaking. I felt terrible thoughts run through my head, but then I shook my head. Ayy, no way, I learned that shadyness through Seol-ah’s explanation, but he’s still the main male lead.
I decided to watch him for now. It was the time when the sun had not yet set, so there seemed to be no customers. The man who appeared to be a pimp approached Wilhelm, who was still a student, and she waved her hand as if to get away. Then Wilhelm began to explain something to his man.
What are you talking about? I can’t hear it well because it’s far away. After hearing all the explanations, her man became contemplative and guided Wilhelm inside. No matter how you look at it, that man was the first to see Wilhelm. It seems that Wilhelm is also here for the first time.
After confirming that Wilhelm had completely disappeared inside, I also sneaked closer to the entrance. Soon after, the man approached me as if he had finished the guide.
He asked me curtly if I wasn’t in a good mood.
“What?”
Maybe it’s because he’s wearing a school uniform.
“What did the man just walked in say?”
“I can’t tell you that. If you are a student, don’t be lazy here and go study. Because I’m out of luck, Won.”
“Are you doing this knowing who he is?”
“Are you saying this knowing who that person is?”
Irritation in his voice is already full of thoughts to drive me away. He must be thinking that if I sold his name here, I would run away in contemplation.
I turned my head tight. Soon, a good idea came to my mind.
“It’s Wilhelm.”
I smiled with one corner of my mouth slightly raised to look as unlucky as possible.
“You, you! It’s crazy?”
When I blurted out the name of the crown prince casually, the man was clearly taken aback.
“No need to be so surprised. Wilhelm is my friend. You promised to play together, but it seems you came alone first.”
I decided to pretend to be the prince’s friend. Not just friends, but entertainment friends. Naturally, he changed his tone to one that was as cheeky as possible. He is a man who knows exactly the identity of the prince who came to visit alone and calls him by his first name. The man didn’t suspect my lie at all and believed it.
“I, I have committed a mortal sin!”
Her man’s face became contemplative once again. Perhaps he is thinking that he stepped on sh*t properly today.
“It is a mortal sin. So what did he say?”
“Well, he said that he came to practice because he had no experience yet….”
“That’s right! Does it make sense that he is still a young bachelor after becoming the crown prince of the empire? I tried to inform him properly, but he left by himself first. It looks like you were expecting a lot.”
I grabbed onto the unimaginable reason and gave a rough reason. Of course, I am also a male bachelor. Tell me what to tell me Rather than that? What the hell are you trying to practice? I struggled to endure the grinding of my teeth. Fortunately, however, the horrific and terrifying hypothesis that Wilhelm handed Seol-ah over to Chang-gwan ended up being a hypothesis.
“Then, how can I guide you to his room?”
“No no no no! You don’t have to do that.”
I hurriedly rejected the man’s sudden offer. It was a word that came out naturally, as if suggesting a table at a restaurant, but the content was completely out of my mind. What the hell is this horrible sound.
“Is that so?”
“I don’t have much taste for that. More than that, how many Wilhelms did you say there would be?”
I really hate it. I vomit at the thought of having to look at the bastard’s bare back and dangling things.
He smiled sinisterly and showed the gold coin in his pocket. One, two, three. How many are there? I tried to count the amount, but stuck out my tongue at the gold coins that came out endlessly. Anyway, that’s a huge amount. The price of holding a woman once in a window like this is ridiculous.
“He said he would stay until he finished practice to his satisfaction.”
‘Crazy bastard.’
I tried hard to brighten my face, which was about to crumple, and turned my back.
“Once I get it. I’ll come back later Good job.”
I couldn’t find Seol-ah’s whereabouts by following him right away. Anyway, Wilhelm is also the main character, but he’s not a rabbit, and judging from the amount paid, it looks like he’ll be stuck there for a while.
I turned to the school gate where Hestia was waiting. Seol-ah must be found before Wilhelm does.
