chapter 7
7 – To the Academy
Lily von Adamas was the youngest daughter of a small baron near the capital. She is from a family that is like the stereotype of a poor middle-class aristocrat. But she didn’t seem to care much about it.
On the contrary, she was more cheerful and confident than I thought. Even among the baron’s daughter, the crown prince, the grand duke’s princess, and the count’s daughter, there was no sign of being intimidated at all. If it were me, she would have been so scared that she couldn’t say a word and would have run away after giving another excuse. It seems that you need to have that level of guts and confidence to seduce the prince.
“Although much has been improved by His Majesty’s selection, the Empire’s industrial structure is still weak.”
Lily knew a lot. To be honest, I don’t know much about this story. How do I know how weak the empire’s industrial structure is? Thanks to that, I’m quietly immersed in the conversation and sipping my drink.
I took a step back and watched Lily closely. For a daughter of a Korean-American baron, she was suspiciously excellent. She is lovely, smart and confident. The only thing lacking is a family name. It is a model of a female protagonist in a romance novel.
She must be the main character of this world. She would have thought that way even if it wasn’t for her looks, abilities, or relationship with the crown prince. The aura of her protagonist flows through her. I can’t quite put her into words, but I’m sure she’s the center of the world.
Perhaps Lily is the female lead and Wilhelm is the main male lead. Maybe I’m in the position of a sub male protagonist.
“Come to think of it, I heard that Prince Mikhail doesn’t enjoy this sort of place… After all, rumors are just rumors.”
I was thinking alone for a long time.
The direction of the conversation jumped toward me at Lily’s sudden question. To be honest, she didn’t want to get involved, but she forced herself to answer because she couldn’t ignore his lover’s words in front of the prince.
“I still don’t enjoy it very much. However, I was curious about the classmates I would study with in the future.”
I put my hand around Hestia’s waist. I feel her flinch.
“My fiance also wants to show off. I came here and it was more fun than I thought. I think I will come often in the future.”
Hestia’s face heats up at the sudden display of affection. It must have been that she didn’t know I was staring at me, perhaps because she was dissatisfied with me constantly looking at Lily.
Her heart beats fast when she looks at her, but it’s irresistible. I acted a little bolder so that Hestia would not be uneasy.
“You two get along very well.”
Lily asked in a somewhat puzzled manner. It must have been a very famous story that Hestia and I didn’t get along very well. No matter what, if you make a tee like this, do you use it?
“Because I am a fiancé. Of course we are good friends.”
But that’s not what I know. I don’t know if it’s a rumor going around that you don’t get along with someone you don’t know at all, but it’s a rumor going around with your fiancé, so even if you show affection like this in front of people a few times, it will probably disappear.
Hestia lowered her head, unable to do anything with her blushing face. If it were just the two of us, they would have quarreled over whether I was crazy or whether it was fun to make fun of me like that, but I guess they didn’t have the guts to do so even with the prince right in front of them.
“Ha ha… I do.”
At my answer, Lily smiled awkwardly. Her mouth is smiling, but her eyes twitch as if in spasm. Then, he looked into Wilhelm’s eyes.
“Kuhm. After all, there are engagements decided only by looking at the family. Not necessarily.”
Wilhelm intervened in the conversation, showing obvious discomfort. Come to think of it, instead of getting along well, there was a person in front of me who had unilaterally broken off the marriage. It’s not intentional, but from his point of view, this bastard would want to be Mac.
There was a moment of silence. Finally bought it It completely ruined the good atmosphere.
“It was a great time. We’ll just let it go Have a good time.”
As if uncomfortable with the sudden heated atmosphere, Wilhelm left. In fact, I was uncomfortable too, so it turned out rather well. I said goodbye to him as he left.
“Why did you say such a thing in front of the crown prince?!”
After Wilhelm and Lily had completely left, Hestia looked around and saw that no one was looking at her.
“It wasn’t something I was specifically aiming for, but somehow it happened.”
“It’s nothing to laugh about. Why did you commit such rudeness to His Highness?”
“Honestly, you’re not wrong, are you?”
I have no corner to stab. Isn’t it ‘common sense’ for fiances to get along well?
To be honest, there are many couples who go against that common sense. However, that is their inner story, and even if they are really not on good terms, it is rare for aristocrats to openly reveal discord. No one enjoys having their love affairs used as social gossip.
But if Wilhelm gets angry and holds me accountable, he is really admitting that there was a disagreement between him and his fiancé. It is said that there is no beautiful farewell in the world, but it would not be a very good choice for Wilhelm who wants a quiet farewell.
“Ha, really.”
Hestia lets out a breath that seems to be bewildered. She tried to say that if you sigh, you will be happy, but she held back because she didn’t know that such an idiom existed in this world.
“Why, is there a problem again?”
“Yes! And, since when did we become so close?”
Hestia took issue with my sudden boldness in hugging her waist this time.
“Isn’t this level of skinship between fiances?”
“No, it’s not that it doesn’t work, it’s that order… Oh really!”
When Hestia pretended to be weak, she couldn’t bear to get more angry.
“If you get angry, it’s not good for your skin. You have to protect your beautiful skin.”
“Are you going to move on to that kind of lip service again?”
I got caught. But pretty skin is the truth.
“It’s not a word of mouth. And did you think you wouldn’t know that I glance at Lady Adamas every time I see her?”
“When will I! Did you?”
Hestia screamed as if she was really taken aback by my words, but she lowered her tone in surprise at her own voice.
“I saw everything before. There’s nothing I don’t know about my future wife.”
“Ugh…”
Hestia made an expression of genuine disgust. I guess this comment was a bit far-fetched. No, no matter what, what is eueg, eueg.
“Do you go around talking to other girls like this?”
“What are you talking about? Where is the other girl I know What kind of girl are you when you don’t have any friends?”
“Huh. I’ll trust you.”
Hestia reluctantly agreed to my clever answer.
“Rather than that, how about Lady Adamas?”
“It was beautiful. To the point where you keep staring at me blankly.”
Hestia responded coldly to my sudden change of topic.
Even if I pretended not to, he seemed to care. That’s right, since I stared blankly at you when we first met, there’s no way I wouldn’t know. Previously, it was force majeure and all, but there is no shame in putting all your attention on another woman with her fiancé next to you.
“Really? It’s not really my taste.”
“I thought you were looking at her face the whole time we were talking? After all, she wouldn’t prefer someone like that to a cold, boring woman like me.”
What is this? I don’t know who the hell has torn her self-esteem to pieces, but she will surely be punished.
“Who is it? I like you better I’m more of a cat than a dog.”
“A cat?”
“I prefer being a little rough.”
Hestia made a strange expression.
“Have you ever been enjoying my anger and irritation?”
“A little?”
“I will have to put up with it from now on.”
“Oh, can you stand it?”
I poked Hestia on the cheek and said. Put up with this? Will you be patient?
“Profit! Do not do that!”
Hestia said, removing my hand. Look, I can’t stand it.
“Just do it normally. If you try to endure it, you will get sick.”
As I sluggishly slipped over, Hestia glared at me and shook her head as if giving up.
“Rather than that, is Lady Adamas the rumored lady?”
“Wouldn’t it be nice to see that they approached us at this point, saying they would introduce us?”
Wilhelm introduced Lily to us without using the exact wording of lover or anything like that. I just came to introduce myself. But no one here would think that she would have nothing to do with him.
Maybe we’re not dating yet. It could be that Wilhelm is floundering trapped in Lily’s fishery, or that he is simply flirting. It’s probably her sub male lead position. Considering that I met her for the first time, this is more likely.
“It’s definitely beautiful, but I don’t know how to break the engagement. She’s not a character Miss Cordelia falls for anywhere. No matter how you think about it, it is too sudden.”
A woman named Cordelia must have been Wilhelm’s original fiancée. Is it the role of a villain who gets smashed at the beginning of the novel?
“What are you thinking so deeply about? His Highness the Crown Prince is more… Um… Yes, he must have been a loser.”
“It is an insult to the imperial family!”
“Are you going to report it?”
“It means watch your mouth! Oh my God.”
Hestia seems startled by my harsh words. It doesn’t matter because she said it after making sure no one was around. And she’s honestly a sucker.
“You two!”
A shout came from somewhere and stopped the Hestia crown prince love front debate. It’s not just a shout, it’s a very harsh word.
We simultaneously turned our heads in the direction of the sound. Excited galleries have already created a spectacle and are buzzing with people.
“Excuse me for a second.”
I grabbed Hestia’s hand and stepped between her galleries. I can’t stand watching the fight again. By the time we pushed our heads through the crowd and into the heart of the matter, the fight had long since reached its climax.
“It didn’t go over because you hit your tail!”
“Oh, I’ve never been like that before. Couldn’t it be that Lady Deneb’s charm was lacking?”
Lily and a woman she doesn’t know are getting into a bloody fight. It’s so cold that I doubt if it’s Lily who smiled brightly at us earlier. She feels a razor-like anticipation.
“Lady Adamas and Miss Cordelia?”
Hestia’s voice shakes when she sees their faces. Now that I see it, it must have been a bloody battle over Wilhelm. I don’t know what the gisaeng long rain is fighting like this.
“Mikhail? Can you stop the fight?”
Hestia asked me as I watched the fight in silence. She rarely called me by name.
“Me? I am an outsider.”
“Please. Miss Cordelia is my friend, but she’s a bit hot-tempered, so if she continues like this, it might cause trouble. Besides, other people won’t be able to come forward because of the name of the Duke of Deneb.”
Hestia seems to be genuinely worried about that red-haired woman named Cordelia. Well, as Hestia said, she is a beauty, but seeing her screaming like that makes me feel a bit like that.
“No, no matter how hard it is, I don’t even step forward when His Highness is still.”
Despite Hestia’s request, to be honest, I don’t really want to get involved in that fight. Because there is nothing to throw away both body and mind like getting involved in someone else’s fight for love. In addition, it is a funny picture for me to step out while Wilhelm is still. I don’t want to be noticed by so many people.
Just when I couldn’t do this or that, one of Cordelia’s hands swung back. As if preparing for a full swing fight.
“This slut is real!”
“Kyaaak!”
Hestia’s scream echoed.
“Stop!”
When she came to her senses, I was already holding her wrist. Mr. Ha. Cordelia is a real sub-team leader.
“Please calm down.”
I have a prince next to me, and I don’t know what he’s doing without thinking about what he’s going to do after he lashes out at his prospective lover.
And Wilhelm, what the hell is this crazy bastard doing without stopping the person he likes?
I felt extremely stressed at this situation where I was suddenly involved in a catfight.
“…As expected, something is strange. It’s so different from the original.”
“Lady Adamas, what did you say?”
“Nothing.”
