Chapter 14: 14. Kitty
"He misses you," Dylan said.
"I miss you too, Kitty." Anna patted Kitty's head happily.
When they were in junior high school, they found an injured cat in the neighborhood. Mr. Williams didn't like cat while Lucy didn't have time to care for any cat, so the cat landed on Dylan's house.
They all decided to name him 'Kitty' because of the two girls' decision.
The two boys and the cat's protest were invalid.
So even if the cat is a boy, his name is very feminine.
During the time Dylan was away because he was 'kicked' out of the house by his grandfather, the cat was taken care by the butler there.
Anna thought that Kitty will still be there.
"I thought that he'll stay at your old house."
"I bring him when I come back this time," Dylan explained. "The butler said that Kitty needs more exercise, so he hope I bring him along."
"Is that so? Kitty, you have to listen to Dylan's words, okay?" Anna raised Kitty up. This cat is already an adult and had considerable weight.
Hmm, he's indeed quite heavy.
"Meow…" Kitty protested.
He didn't think that he's heavy.
Anna put Kitty down and patted the cat's head. She raised her head and saw Dylan had already handed over some meat to the cat.
"You want me to accompany you, but you already have Kitty with you." Anna rubbed Kitty's head as the cat rubbed his body on her legs.
"That's because Kitty also missed you. You don't know how hard it is for me to ask him to practice." Dylan looked at the cat that was purring near Anna's legs and really wanted to pick the cat up and asked him just who is his owner.
This cat always liked Anna the most.
No matter how good other people were to him, Anna's place in Kitty's heart is always the highest.
It was very enviable.
"Alright, you have to practice, Kitty."
"Meow…" Kitty protested with meow.
But this protest is invalid. Dylan will definitely drag the lazy cat to practice. He's already very fat and heavy!
"Let's continue eating."
"Um~."
They continued to eat with Kitty getting a few pieces of meat from time to time. Sometimes, a cat truly lived better than human.
After it was done, Anna helped Dylan to wash the plates.
She felt that this was the least that she could do when she was asking him to cook for her.
"I can do it myself, Sister." Dylan looked at Anna helplessly.
"Don't worry, it's not difficult."
"Alright then."
With that, the two of them came to a tacit agreement.
…
For the next three days, Anna paid a visit to Dylan every lunch and dinner. For breakfast, Dylan handed her bread that he made, so she could eat it by herself early morning. Their wake up time was different and it wouldn't be good to bother the other every single time.
Anna also happily agreed.
Kitty was always dragged to practice by Dylan in the afternoon and Anna would cheer the cat up.
It was very lively.
The poor cat had to follow Dylan to the gym and ran on the treadmill.
Naturally, she handed over a bag of flour to Dylan to make up for the flour he used to make food for her.
Dylan watched the bag and didn't know whether to laugh or cry. No matter how much he used the flour, he only used a third of a bag at most and the bread was not only for Anna but also for him.
This way, the food in his side just kept increased even though he was cooking for two people.
Anna was learning to cook the simple food and also cleaned up her space during this time. There were a lot of items in her space and even though she didn't really clean up everything with such details, it still took a long time for her to separate them based on their types.
Thankfully, it was technically done after such a long time.
And Anna came to realization that there were tons of food there. It was estimated that she wouldn't be able to use it even after years.
Oh well.
Leave it be.
It was good enough that she would not have to worry about food in the future.
