Into the healing farming game

CH 18 - Day 23 of Spring

23rd day of spring

As the money slowly accumulated, I had some spare time, my eyes naturally turned to the additional opening of the mode(mods). All I could realistically think of was adding a bag. I wanted an item worth 1000 gold. The next thing I glimpsed was a minimap worth 500 gold. I didn’t really feel the need for this.

I thought it could be useful when going somewhere far away or having a hard time finding my way around. Since I still lived and moved around in a small town, I didn’t feel the need to spend 500 gold. It was also a big deal that I was addicted to the fun of making money by buying seeds with gold.

The bag was a little different.

Fishing treasure chest miscellaneous. And fish. Mining various ores and gems. Crops obtained through farming and ingredients needed for cooking. Potions, equipment, and other necessities.

Although the bag had 100 compartments, it was common for the compartments to be filled. It wasn’t difficult to invest about a thousand gold as I started to have some spare money.

On the night of the 18th, the bag was expanded using a thousand gold, and the bag increased ten times from 100 to 1000 spaces. It was a situation where I wouldn’t run out of anything as long as I didn’t move around like a squirrel with my things packed tightly. I was satisfied. I felt like I made a good purchase. Now, I could carry just about anything in my bag without running out of space.

19th day of spring

I set a short goal. Achieve Mithril Enchantment on all tools and Advanced Farming. I didn’t have enough time to do advanced fishing because I was planning on living in a mine. I thought farming, where my level rose rapidly even if I only did it for a short time in the morning, was the first thing to reach advanced level.

I decided to just fish a bit in my spare time and raise my level. It was still fun, but now that I had a taste of farming, which brought in a few thousand gold, I was no longer interested in fishing, which only earned a few hundred gold.

20th day of spring

Farming Intermidiate level 7. In the end, it was the same as fishing. Mining had also reached intermediate level 3.

Anything except garlic and musk melon was not effective in Abel’s shop. So, I focused on raising just those two, and as they reached a certain level, it became natural to earn thousands of gold per day.

Around that time, the scale of farming began to become burdensome. Assuming I planted one seed every five seconds, it would take about five to six hours to plant 3,000 to 4,000 seeds one by one without stopping. It was literally like the morning was deleted.

Was there a mode that automatically planted seeds? Or maybe there was no such tool?

As people had more money, they increasingly looked for convenience.

Obviously, watering was a problem in the game, so water was automatically sprayed using a sprinkler or something. That wasn’t much of a problem here. All I had to do was spray water with a watering can. This also took some time, but what really mattered was planting the seeds.

If I scattered the seeds roughly to save time, the crops would not grow properly. Some of the plants that were roughly scattered as an experiment did not grow properly. This meant that the process of digging, planting, and covering the soil was absolutely necessary.

21st day of spring

Farming level 8 surpassed fishing.

22nd day of spring

Farming level 9. I was slowly reaching the advance level. Mining reached level 4.

Even after purchasing the seeds, I had already reached a situation where I could easily have a few thousand gold left over. Still, the Maginot line was set at 5,000 seeds per day. Even if I only planted 5,000 seeds, I would be planting seeds for 7 hours. 7 really intense hours with no breaks in between. In fact, assuming that I was a little distracted or rested, it was ridiculous to go work for 8 hours.

If the number exceeded 5,000, it was difficult to do mining work properly. Planting seeds was also quite an arduous task, so my stamina was depleted quickly, and I was short on time. It was difficult to go up and down the 20th floor of the mine in that condition.

22nd day of spring. Dream

[You have qualified to advance to the advanced level!]

[Currently, your farming is at advanced level 1 (scheduled), and you can achieve advanced level 1 if you meet the necessary conditions!]

[The conditions are as follows:

Achievement: Just look at the ground!

Achievement: The clouds were delicious!

Achievement: Achieving the first step to becoming a rich farmer]

Was there something like this? I stared blankly at the item I saw in my dream. In my dream from the 22nd to the 23rd, I encountered something unexpected.

Since when did conditions become necessary to reach an advanced level? Didn’t it just rise steadily? I prepared five painkillers to prepare for the pain.

Let’s check each of the achievements, which were divided into three categories.

Just looked at the ground. Plant 10,000 seeds. This had already been achieved. The minimum number of seeds planted so far was well over 10,000. This feat was easily accomplished due to the recent explosive planting of thousands of seeds.

The first step toward becoming a rich farmer. Own 10,000 gold. It had been a long time since this was achieved. As I steadily earned a few thousand gold, it became like that.

The problem was that the clouds tasted good! It was an achievement. Obtain the Sky Dew Fruit. An achievement containing the following.

“Wasn’t this what you get at the Fairy Farm?”

Exploration elements were needed for the ending someday. I remembered it because it was one of the four achievements required to go to the Fairy Sky Garden.

Fairy’s Sky Garden.

Achievement: Be sure to check the space to cross. (Learn space movement magic) Achievement: The clouds were delicious! (Obtain Sky Dew Fruit)

Achievement: Completion of a small village. (Complete construction of all structures that can be installed)

Achievement: Do you like fairy tales? (Growing a Beanstalk)

I vaguely searched through my living memories and checked the achievement section, and I remembered correctly. I had to go to the fairy farm to get it myself. An unexpected and difficult element of exploration arose.

Fairy Farm was far away. It was a long journey that took approximately 10 days or more round trip. Since it was like that in the game, it would be right for me to set the minimum to that level.

With the remaining money, I bought seeds, various cooking ingredients, and food, and slowly thought about exploring. If I had to go someday, it was right to go when I had a good reason, such as farming.

Cool air woke me up in the morning. On a morning like any other day, I jumped out of bed. 23rd day of spring. Morning. What was expected to be a painful day with painkillers ended up on an unexpected path of exploration.

The problem was that I couldn’t put everything aside and go on an adventure without knowing anything. Who would take care of my crops if I was away for 10 days? If my precious crops, which I worked so hard to grow, died or failed to grow during that time, it would be my loss. My future and my money. It was too big of a risk to give up on this right away.

Problems related to automation were just around the corner. I was no longer the person I used to be in the past who thought I could get rid of it with my body without the need for sprinklers.

I found the sprinkler at the crafting table. Iron sprinkler, silver sprinkler, mithril sprinkler. There were more advanced items later, but the limit of what I could make was a mithril sprinkler.

The materials needed were 10 iron ingots, 10 gold ingots, and 5 mithril ingots. Unfortunately, it was not indicated how much coverage each sprinkler covered. Even if I looked at the UI, it only showed the necessary materials. In the end, I had to make it myself, install it, and figure out how to operate it myself.

First, I made an iron sprinkler. The materials needed were 20 stones and 3 iron ingots.

A pretty crude-looking sprinkler was made. I could only read the explanation after making it.

A tool that releases water every 24 hours when you fill it with water and press it.

I roughly planted it on the ground and watered it with a watering can. It didn’t take that much. When the water reached a sufficient level, the sprinkler sprayed water.

“Hmmm…”

The amount sprayed was ridiculous compared to how vigorously it was spread. I thought it was because it was such a crude tool at first.

Next was Mithril. The quantity of silver ingots was much smaller than expected, and it had a separate use, so it was a shame to make it into a sprinkler. It didn’t come from a mine, and it was only obtained from treasure chests, so it was a waste to use it for something like this. What’s more, there was Mithril that was steadily supplied at higher levels.

There was a reward in consistently collecting ore to enchant tools. After all, hoarding basic ingredients like a squirrel was only helpful as long as it was excessive and never harmful.

Mithril sprinkler. The light reflected by sunlight shone in five colors. The mithril sprinkler, which had a basic silver luster, was unique from the start. It would be appropriate to say that it was very luxurious, unlike steel.

The amount of water going in was large. Now I could drink the entire watering can enchanted with gold three times. I felt reassured because I thought that at this level, it would easily last for 10 days when multiple devices were installed.

What was important was the scope of coverage. I installed one roughly on the floor and measured the extent to which water could reach it.

Like in games, there was no objective number such as ‘how many squares,’ so all I could do was look at it visually and estimate it. Of course, that was enough. In the end, all I had to do was make sure that the area where the ground got wet matched the crop.

“This is okay.”

Enough to cover several thousand seeds. It extended further than expected and sprayed cool water.

Cool water fell on the crops that filled the field. I could postpone enchanting Mithril tools for a while because this wasn’t something I needed tomorrow. All mithril ore was converted into mithril ingots and used to make sprinklers.

Even though watering was not difficult and easy, it was true that it was time-consuming. Now that we had achieved this level of automation, it was easy to understand even if we used a lot of ingredients.

It was comfortable. I had no choice but to make sprinklers, but I might look for something related to automation in the future. Ultimately, there was a limit to what a single human body could do. All I was given was 24 hours. I needed to sleep, eat, and rest. I couldn’t do everything.

In the end, I have to make sacrifice.

But I don’t have to make any sacrifice if I had automation. Because it saved time. I vaguely thought that I would have to do it someday, but now that it was getting closer, my eyes turned slightly.

Isn’t that usually the case? It is said that a person who has experienced comfort cannot go back to the way it was before.

“We’re running low on ingredients.”

I hated the pickaxe that sparkled with mithril for no reason. If it weren’t for this, I might have been able to easily fill the field with mithril sprinklers today or tomorrow.

The number needed seemed to be around 5. A total of 250 mithril ores were required. I had made 3 so far, so I needed 100 more. It was like what you get if you stayed in the mine for a day and just worked.

A future in which only mining took place in humid and hot places was portrayed very favorably. Even so, could I refuse it? Nothing would change by complaining.

Sprinklers sprayed water vigorously. I was proud to see the sight of a little more than half of the field being filled with water.

It was a little after lunch. I went to Abel’s store, completed the transaction, and returned to prepare to go to the mine. The gold I got today was 2560 gold. After selling about 3,000 heads of garlic, the money started flowing in.

Even if I went to the mine every day, there was nothing different. A bizarre environment that respawned like a game. A place a little far from reality. Could it be that the uniqueness of being a place that no one visited was connected to something in the game?

When I looked at something like this, I wondered if this was reality or a game. I couldn’t help but be thankful for the vagueness of that boundary.

Even if sometimes it had a negative impact on me (like the struggles of the first day). The reason we could mine infinite resources in the current mine was because of the boundary that spanned that ambiguity. There were pros and cons.

Until I reached the 20th floor, I sweated profusely in the uncomfortable and unpleasant mine. Eventually, when I saw cool mithril, I dug it up with a gummy smile.

As tools improved, digging speed also increased. The RPG adage that if your abilities are not good, improve your equipment was never wrong.

Since I entered the mine late at night, I was not able to mine much mithril ore. Since I couldn’t eat and sleep in the mine, I had to return home eventually, and it was difficult to stay too late, even for tomorrow.

The number of Mithril was 70. If I dug up just 30 tomorrow, one of the preparations for exploration would be completed.

Preparing for tomorrow was simple. I tried sleeping somewhere other than my home.

Still, it was important to check whether the dream of creating the same system unfolded. Depending on that, the amount of food and equipment I needed to bring would vary significantly. If I had a dream, I wrote it down. If there were none, there would be more. It was a simple logic.

On the way back, I counted the elements needed for the expedition one by one and soon arrived home. I wasn’t that tired, but the bed was amazing.

After a few minutes of silence in the darkness without a smartphone or light, I naturally fell asleep. I thought the research results that said modern people’s insomnia was mostly caused by smartphones were not completely wrong.

And so the night of the 23rd fell.
