Invincible:Osmosian

Chapter 13: light work no reaction.

"What the heck, what did you do?!"

He exclaimed, but Kevin didn't answer. Instead, his eyes glowed an ominous red as his body followed suit and radiated a red glow as well, and the villain felt the air shift and the atmosphere change as the young man began to float ominously.

"Shit!"

Moving faster than a bullet, Kevin was already before his foe, and he transformed his hand into an energy sword and swung it with swift precision. Kill Cannon, noting the danger, quickly tried to evade by activating his rocket boots. Luckily, he managed to evade a grim fate. However, his arm cannon was sliced clean off his body.

Just before the man could fly out of reach, Kevin grabbed his leg, stopping him mid-flight, and proceeded to slam the man onto the concrete floor with tremendous force, creating a human-sized crater.

He then pulled his leg back, and, using as much force as he could muster, he punted Kill Cannon like a football and sent him hurdling through the air, flying at breakneck speeds and disappearing into the distance.

After having dealt with Kill Cannon, he turned towards the Elephant only to realise the man was knocked out and slumped on the floor unmoving.

Seeing the villains had been dealt with, he heaved a relieved sigh before then pointing his arms in the air and discharged it all out before dropping to his knees, panting.

"Ugh!... Light work… no reaction"

He said as he struggled to get back up, he knew that absorbing too much energy could have adverse effects like driving him insane mostly because that's what happened to the original Kevin in Ben 10, however, it seems like his body couldn't properly handle such high levels of energy and as such it put a strain on his body.

"I suppose that means I'm a bit unstable"

He said, fully standing up and dusting himself off. He took a look around and saw the civilians with their phones out recording him, so he decided to run.

"I suppose it makes sense, unlike Kevin Levin. I was literally made in a lab, I need to meet Mark again"

He said as he ran, manoeuvring through the alleys and disappeared from public view, leaving the mess made by the villains behind.

[Next Day]

[Teen Team Base]

The teen team's base was built with both comfort and work efficiency in mind, as the leader, Robot wanted his team to know that they could relax when returning to base but also be aware enough to know that rest is limited

The robot that was the team leader sat on a chair as he carefully watched the multiple monitors, watching every location of the city, looking for places where they may be needed. Of course, he ignored places where there were heroes already in the vicinity.

While he was doing that, the rest of his team was sitting on the large couch or doing something else. Rex-plode, in particular, was playing video games.

Of course, even though he was busy with something, the leader was actively participating in a conversation.

"Look Robot, just let me talk to him more, I know he can do good, so far he's only done small-scale crimes things that would be pardoned with a few months of community service"

Atom Eve argued, and Rex beside her couldn't help but roll his eyes.

"I understand you, Atom Eve, I do, however, whether or not he gets labelled as a villain is not up to me, it's up to the public and right now they aren't pleased with him"

Robot expressed his voice monotone and unfeeling; he then displayed recorded footage of Kevin's battle with the Elephant and Kill Cannon. The video was posted on social media, and it seemed there were more than a few people displeased with him.

"Wow a million likes and 2 million views that's crazy, that guy is cooked"

"Just as Rexplode says, this friend of yours has caused a mess in the ghetto parts of Chicago and since the people there are already disenfranchised they don't like their stuff getting broken, if he keeps it up I'm sure the GDA will get involved"

Robot explained that the GDA was responsible for all Superhuman incidents. Of course, that depended on scale and potential; if it's just street-level stuff that the police can handle, they usually don't interfere; however, if it escalates to threaten multiple blocks or towns, they get involved and quickly neutralise the threat.

It was an unspoken rule amongst small-scale Super criminals to keep their activities on the low and not attract the GDA.

"This is why I'm saying let me talk to him more, and besides, even in the video, he's fighting known villains. If anything, that's proof he's a good guy"

She responded that she didn't like how it seemed she was begging, but she continued regardless; Kevin much like her, it was an experiment meant as a weapon.

When they first met, he was an enemy who was supposed to capture her but ended up showing her not only her origins but the origins of her powers; it was thanks to him that she knew why she was so different from others and why it always felt like her family couldn't understand her.

They managed to destroy everything related to what made them and stopped any more kids from being raised in tubes like Kevin, but after that was done, she had a family to come home to.

Her adoptive parents may not have understood her, but they loved her like any parent would love their child; Kevin didn't get that, and unfortunately, he had to live on the streets; it's something that always ate her up inside; she wasn't able to help the person that helped her.

It also helped that he was also the one person who was just like her, so she felt a certain sense of camaraderie with him, a connection of sorts, and due to that, she wanted to help him get a stable life or at least help him get a home and live a normal life.

"Look, Eve, you haven't told us what's your deal with this guy, and if it's sensitive, I totally respect that, and I respect you for wanting to help a friend out, but are you sure he wants your help to begin with?"

Kate asked as she exited the bathroom with a towel over her head but already in full costume, which was something that made Rex a bit disappointed.

At Kate's words, Eve found herself holding her tongue and ruminating her thoughts. However, she was unable to properly think as suddenly the alarm started blaring, interrupting her and immediately putting everyone on high alert.

"Seems there's trouble downtown, let's go!!"

Robot commanded as the team immediately assembled and went out to save the day.
