It’s not that kind of malicious broadcast

Chapter 182 - When They Came for the First Time

『Revan#322: No』

『Revan#322: Is this a joke?』

『CravingWarmAmericano: 🤔』

『CravingWarmAmericano: What are you talking about?』

『Revan#322: Who protests against game patches?』

『Revan#322: Especially a broadcaster』

『Revan#322: I don’t even know where to start criticizing』

『Revan#322: First of all, what about your face?』

『CravingWarmAmericano: There’s no choice』

『CravingWarmAmericano: I’m the head of the Rogue Revival Movement』

『CravingWarmAmericano: Will the president of the All Rogue Association also come?』

『Revan#322: Who’s that now?』

『Revan#322: Oh』

『Revan#322: Sigh… Please tell me this is a joke?』

『CravingWarmAmericano: Yes』

『Revan#322: Whew』

『Revan#322: Really had me worried there』

『Revan#322: Next time, please inform me ahead of time if it’s a joke』

『Revan#322: My heart can’t handle it』

『CravingWarmAmericano: Then let me tell you another joke』

『Revan#322: Go ahead』

『CravingWarmAmericano: I would love it if you could come to the protest』

『CravingWarmAmericano: As a representative of the loggers… preferably with an axe.』

『Revan#322: ???』

『Revan#322: No』

『CravingWarmAmericano: Just kidding 🤭』

『CravingWarmAmericano: Actually, I just wanted you to come as a friend』

(Revan#322 is typing…)

『Revan#322: No』

(Revan#322 is typing…)

『Revan#322: Sigh』

『Revan#322: So you are going to protest』

『Revan#322: What about the part where you said it’s a joke?』

『CravingWarmAmericano: The part about having no choice was the joke』

『CravingWarmAmericano: Actually, it’s something I don’t have to do.』

『CravingWarmAmericano: But I want to do it 🙂.』

『CravingWarmAmericano: So, are you coming?』

『Revan#322: If you do it, I’ll come.』

『Revan#322: I’m going to bring Ark along and drag you back home, just so you know.』

『CravingWarmAmericano: 😧』

『CravingWarmAmericano: So you are coming.』

(Revan#322 is typing…)

『CravingWarmAmericano: If you’re coming anyway”』

『CravingWarmAmericano: Could you sing some songs when you come?』

『CravingWarmAmericano: Provocative songs that stir emotions.』

『CravingWarmAmericano: You seem good at that.』

『CravingWarmAmericano: I’ll be in charge of the accompaniment.』

(Revan#322 is typing…)

『CravingWarmAmericano: Think it over and let me know.』

『CravingWarmAmericano: 🙂🙃🙂🙃🙂』

* * * *

What does any of this even mean?

I pushed the voice whispering in my heart to a remote corner of my mind.

In life, sometimes you end up doing meaningless things.

Even if something doesn’t lead to an achievement, sometimes the act itself holds meaning.

So…

『Outdoor Assembly (Protest, march) Report.』

I need to start with this.

Name… Lee Yena.

Date of birth, address, phone number… The name of the assembly. Calling it the Rogue Revival Movement would be a bad idea. I don’t want to face any scornful looks from the staff at the police station. How about Anti-Content Change Protest…?

For the date, I’d prefer to do it tomorrow. But there’s no way it would get approved so fast.

When would be a good time? It should be before the start of Season 2… Conducting the protest after the start of the pre-season might be more effective, once everyone feels the impact of the nerf patch.

For now, I left the date section blank and looked down at the form.

The location will be in front of Faraday’s Korea branch office… The purpose of the assembly. The purpose…

Writing “Rogue Revival” wouldn’t be acceptable; perhaps something like Communication on Content Improvement…?

Suddenly, a thought crossed my mind.

Maybe the banner of the Rogue Revival Movement isn’t enough.

It wasn’t simply a matter of using expressions that sounded more sophisticated.

From the start, KoK was more popular in Europe and North America. So, compared to the global scale, Korean KoK users were a mere handful… and among them, the number of Rogue users was probably even fewer.

Thinking that way—if other character users also participated, wouldn’t it at least create a more presentable scenario?

Gathering a dozen or so Rogue users and holding a pitiful rally only to disband seemed… well, too unimpressive. Ark, Revan#322, and StarPork… would probably show up, but how many could there be?

There was a method to recruit fans by advertising their participation everywhere. But putting aside how bothersome that could be, the effectiveness was uncertain. It was a well-known fact that the number of online fans didn’t necessarily translate to offline participation.

It wasn’t even an official fan meeting, so how many people would drop by just to briefly see them in person?

However, even if they suggested that users of other characters join in now, how persuasive would it be?

Honestly, there was some doubt. Although various communities voiced opinions that this patch was excessive… many didn’t show much interest. Some even seemed pleased and thought it looked good, despite the disturbances caused.

Undoubtedly, it must be the Warrior users causing a ruckus because they felt their spots were being taken away.

It was unfair. This wasn’t something done just for personal gain. Why couldn’t they see that in the end, not just Rogues but other characters would also suffer from these bizarre patches and eventually face demise?

But what could be done?

A prophet’s path was always torturous.

For now… I needed to make others feel that this could become their problem too.

『Author: CravingWarmAmericano(👑)』

『Title: Broadcast and Protest Notice』

『Hello,

How is everyone doing? I am suffering from a cold. But no pain should justify negligence, right?

The protest is scheduled for three weeks from now. We thought it would be better to hold it about a week after the pre-season ends. Please join us for KoK.

There’s a rich schedule prepared, including an ocarina recital.

In line with the spirit of pursuing harmony among various professions, we are considering inviting an anonymous singer, who is not a Rogue user, with the tag #322. We cannot reveal the name yet as the invitation to sing is not confirmed. We ask for your understanding.

In that vein… have you heard the poem that starts with,

“When the Nazis came for the communists, I remained silent; I was not a communist”, and ends with, “When they came for me, there was no one left to speak out.”

When the balance team, which ruins the game, now targets Rogues, none of us should remain silent. Even if your main character is a Holy Knight, mage, Priest, or Archer.

But since some may not understand… perhaps we should show them soon.

By dealing with every incident with our blades, what will we end up losing?

We plan to proceed based on the user population. The largest number… will likely be the Holy Knights.

See you in three days for the Knight special.

Best regards, CravingWarmAmericano』

– Are they really holding a protest?

– Isn’t it just a fan meeting?

– I think they’re calling it a protest because they’re too embarrassed to call it a fan meeting.

– Anonymous#322 is rascal…

– What a suspiciously named Warrior that always finishes around rank 322.

– They’re really hinting at their affiliations too much.

– “No, shut your mouth before I actually kill myself.”

– “Isn’t that a bit of an odd threat, bub?”

– “Special segment on Holy Knights? Are you finally switching to a knight as your main character?”

– “Why so dramatic all of a sudden? It’s hard to get used to.”

– “No, seriously, I’m scared…”

– “The kid changed after running The Rogue too much. Now he’s diligently posting announcements, playing the game seriously, even doing ranking runs without causing chaos.”

– “Isn’t that just being normal…?”

– “Quitting? But then posting wide-range taunts in the forum isn’t considered causing trouble?”

– “Does she seriously think a game patch is so weird she’s going to protest in real life…?”

– “It looks like she’s just messing around as usual.”

– “No, for real. Once you get there, there’s probably nobody, and he’ll just post an announcement: ‘You guys are the true rogues. Feel free to descend the mountain now’, or something.”

– “Ahhhhhh!”

– “But will GetDevoured show her face during the protest?”

– “I bet Revan’s balls that she won’t show up herself.”

– “Why would you even bet that…”

– “Because it would be better if she disappeared.”

– “Don’t you remember she was taped up and turned on her webcam ten years ago? If she does come out, she’ll probably wear that ridiculous motorcycle helmet again.”

– “If I saw her in real life, I don’t think I could hold back my language.”

– “She’d probably giggle, saying it’s a compliment.”

– “Why am I already annoyed just imagining it?”

– “In all this, the Warrior was left out of the job list again. Damn.”

– “Seriously, could her ex-boyfriend have been a current Warrior?”

The announcement left behind a heated reaction. Lee Yena’s WeTogether was filled with speculation about what the upcoming special segment could be about. What did she mean by showing off all the characters?

The most highly endorsed opinion was that she intended to create trolls from every character, likely because of the accumulated karma from Lee Yena’s previous antics.

Despite the uproar, a surprisingly large number of people awaited with a certain kind of expectation. They were curious if she would bring something comparable to the legendary ‘2-Underground Rogue’ with their preferred characters.

After all, she was the pioneer who shaped the meta and even led to a significant game patch from that Worlds finals build. There were complaints about the game feeling a bit stale due to the lack of characters.

Although initially, the game’s VR features and variations based on each character’s traits and weaponry meant that creating many characters was challenging – understanding that didn’t necessarily revive the dwindling excitement.

Many were thirsty for new builds and gameplay methods. After three days filled with endless speculation, the awaited announcement came.

『Holy Knight Special – The Greatsword Knight』

《As you might know, if the Holy Knight selects ‘Faithful Flesh’, their health increases as the defense of themselves and nearby allies decreases. Entertainment videos like ‘Getting Hit All Day as a Knight’ usually mix various traits with this one.》

Lee Yena appeared with a Greatsword Knight.

《If you pair this with ‘Last Stand’, which converts health to attack power when there are no allies around, and add ‘Dragon’s Fury’, ‘One-Man Army’, and ‘Vows and Constraints’, it’s fun. Here’s the talent map for reference.》

Carrying a massive sword that consumed all the weight meant for armor.

《The Faraday Balance Team, of course, has a strong conviction that Holy Knights should primarily be tanky. They might not like this.》

– heh

《Before they cut this content out of displeasure, let’s enjoy it a bit, shall we?》
