Jitsu -A different story-

Chapter 12: Many questions

Shizune had not moved from the same position she was in since her mind was somewhere else at that moment imagining many things that only she knew what meant. Several minutes had passed since then, and if it weren't for the voice she heard calling her, she would have stayed like that for longer.

"Mom? Are you back yet? What happened to your date? But more importantly, what are you doing leaning against the door?" The questions Rena just said reached Shizune completely, but she decided that it was best to answer all of them somewhere else since she had a lot to tell.

Rena understood that when she saw how Shizune walked towards the kitchen and simply followed her. The silence was the only thing present when they both took a seat at the table, Rena expected Shizune to satisfy her curiosity about her, so when she heard her mother speak, she paid full attention.

"Kurono-san just brought me back."

"I see... In any case, how was your date? I need you to tell me everything in detail." The interest that Rena showed didn't go unnoticed by Shizune, but it didn't bother her as she began to explain to her dear daughter how it was her evening. She briefly explained everything, their dinner at the restaurant, the surprises she had during the date and the end of it, as well as showed her the gift she brought with her, making Rena give a proud smile, but also an expression of confusion generated in her.

"Wait... What was the name of the restaurant?"

"Hmm… I think its name was Sunset White or something, why do you ask… Rena?" The silence accompanied by the almost zero movements expressed by her dear daughter worried Shizune a little, but when that peculiar scene ended, she understood the reason for her reaction.

"T-That's the most famous restaurant in the city, normally you would have to make a reservation months in advance to get a table, plus each dish costs an arm and a leg, did Kurono-san really take you there?!"

"Yes, it also seemed like it wasn't his first time there and one of the employees treated him with a lot of respect, maybe they knew each other." Shizune's simple way of thinking made Rena wonder if her mom was too easy to fool, it was obvious that, if all that was true, Kurono must have had enough influence or contacts to achieve all that, it wasn't something that just anyone could do.

"Okay, okay, I was just a bit surprised, and how was your experience?"

"Well, I would say that I enjoyed it a lot, Kurono-san was always with me so no problem happened, besides, the scene he prepared was quite beautiful and it made me very happy to receive a gift from him."

"Yeah, I guess he told you that I helped him choose it, but I just told him what you might like, so you can consider it as a gift entirely from him… But let's put that aside, tell me, didn't something else happen that you want to say?" Again, you could see the amused look on Rena's face. She had to have a problem if she didn't realize the state she found Shizune in and she wanted to know what was the reason for that, so she dropped that question and started to her mother to solve the mystery.

"I-I..." Nervousness was evident on Shizune's face, after explaining to Rena about their date she had forgotten that memory that made her feel that way. She really wanted to run away, but when she noticed how her escape routes were being blocked imaginarily, she had to give up and start thinking about how to say everything. "Kurono brought me home as I told you before."

"Yes…"

"And I made sure to thank him properly for everything he did… He even told me that he would like to go on another date with me some other time…"

"And what did you say?!" The emotion that Rena felt was not unjustified, with only those words she knew that the date had been a complete success and that the future that she imagined was not too far from what she thought.

"I gladly accepted, the date was really beautiful and there was no reason to refuse... We had already said goodbye, but I forgot to return his jacket, and when I was about to return it... I stumbled foolishly."

"Tell me you didn't get hurt, please." Shizune was immersed in her story as nervousness continued to grow in her, but a warm smile appeared on her face as she noticed Rena's concern.

"I'm fine, Kurono-san was quite fast and caught me at the last moment. I felt like I had approached him and at that moment... It just happened."

"What happened?" Rena's expectations were up in the air. She felt like she was watching one of her favorite dramas on TV and she could guess where it was all, going making her even more excited.

"He and I..." Shizune had remained silent, not because she didn't want to tell it, but because that beautiful memory reappeared in her mind making her feel a warmth that she couldn't describe, but she knew that she couldn't leave Rena with doubt and had to express the only thing that was on her mind.

"We kissed." She had said and she couldn't help generating that slight blush again in addition to her characteristic smile without paying attention to her surroundings, but what she heard the next second was enough for her to come back to reality.

"Kyaaaa!" That strange scream was heard again in the apartment, Rena had expressed everything she felt just with that and made Shizune look overwhelmed again by it. "I'm so happy for you, Mom. I told you that Kurono-san felt the same way, this deserves to be celebrated!"

"You don't need to get so excited, hehe."

"Why…? That's right, there's nothing official yet... Tell me, what's your plan now?"

"Plan?"

"Yes, don't tell me that everything will stay as a simple kiss and that's it, you need to make Kurono-san express his feelings for you!"

"Ehhh?! I-I don't know what you mean…"

"Mom, don't even think about chickening out right now, you've already come this far, it's no time to hesitate."

"But..." Shizune wanted to say that everything was going too fast for her and she hadn't even been able to put her feelings in order after the chaos that was in her mind, but before expressing that, she heard the characteristic sound of her cell phone ringing and had to answer. "Hello, ah, Kurono-san… Yes, there were no problems on my return, although in reality I just needed to go upstairs, haha… But I thank you very much for your attention… Eh? I really wouldn't mind… I understand, yes, I'll see you tomorrow… Good night to you too, bye…"

Rena couldn't ignore that, she saw in the front row all the expressions that she rarely saw her mother express and she really felt somewhat out of place, but removing that, she realized that there was an aura of complete calm and warmth surrounding her, making her more certain that she hadn't been wrong.

"Well, what did he say to you?"

"He... He asked me if we could meet tomorrow in the same park."

"Okay, so my work here is done, I'll leave everything in your hands from here on out, Mom."

"What do you mean by that?"

"You'll understand..." With those words that Shizune still didn't understand, Rena went back upstairs to the room where her dear husband was still sleeping after having enough fun and a thought appeared in her mind at that moment. 'I'll have to prepare a celebration, haha.'
