Chapter 518: Ho-Ho Station
The two spaceships closed in on the giant structure floating in space.
The speed of the ship reduced greatly as they got closer and closer to avoid a full-on collision.
If they collided then it was most likely that the two ships would be what would be destroyed and worse off from the collision so they slowed their approach while circling.
As they were doing that, a section of the giant metallic structure began to show some movement.
Large doors began opening that were big enough to fit in ships of very large sizes.
Upon passing through the opened door, there was a landing platform that was very open and wide allowing for the ships to safely come to a halt before they would be moved to other locations.
The doors closed behind them allowing those on the ship to venture off their ships.
A large sign was hung above one of the main exits to the landing zone where many other ships were gathered together.
Some ships were undergoing repairs and restocking of supplies and other things while some were surrounded by people of various races that seemed to belong to the ships.
On the sign, there was a clear and bold text that was written as 'Ho-Ho Station' while there were some other strange texts that seemed to be in other languages and could not be understood by everyone unless they had learned each one.
Ho-Ho Station was known as a large space station that was considered one of the most popular destinations to stop at.
The large floating rock that had been transformed into a place to stop and stay was just one among many places that could be found in space.
Bunbun, Medea, and Ashwin were able to gather more information from those who had been captured especially once they got the help of Alyssia so they were able to navigate much easier.
Compared to the previous location they stopped at, the space station they arrived at was much more well-known and it was a more popular place to stop by.
Since it was more well-known and popular, it meant that certain influences were connected to it and it was not the type of place that welcomed criminals.
The previous location welcomed everyone and did not discriminate whether someone was an outlaw or not but the current location did not allow such people to remain if they were well-known troublemakers and caused any problems during their stay.
It was much more enforced and law-abiding but that made it slightly more peaceful.
The overall atmosphere was more relaxed and some parts seemed like it was some form of check-in stop or tourist attraction.
From the information that had been gathered, there were several sections of Ho-Ho Station which housed all kinds of different things.
One section was for the residents who lived there or rented from the living quarters then there were the docking areas, the luxury areas, and then there were the market and other places.
All kinds of experiences and opportunities were awaiting them so the three of them prepared with the rest of the crew that joined them before securing their ships.
Bunbun ventured into the stalls browsing the clothes and food that were available while playing around with some of the vending machines that were on display.
There was a mix of human-operated trade and machine-operated trade providing a differing form of buying and selling different goods.
The machine-operated trade allowed for a constant fixed price but a lot of the prices were usually quite high since they were mainly related to the operations of the space station.
Some human-operated trading places were connected to some businesses that were heavily connected to the influences that were heavily related to the space station and they had little room for negotiating trade.
It was mainly in the market areas that most trade was more flexible and the prices involved were not so high.
Medea and Ashwin learned the methods used for currency and how everything else worked so they were quick to obtain the card that had been registered to their accounts so that they could exchange things for credits.
The credits were the main currency and although the crew had arrived only after having one trip into space, they had been quite successful with their trading during the first time out.
There were two available methods to gain access to credits.
The first one was what Medea, Ashwin, and Bunbun were making use of and that was the card form.
The card had a certain credit limit so if someone went beyond that limit, they would have to get another card to put the credits onto.
It was usually the main method used by newbie travelers, criminals, and anyone who did not feel comfortable with carrying around everything in one big account.
The main perk related to the card was that there was less of a need to register it when using it and there would only be updates of use that would come up on the systems when and where it was used.
There was no tracking involved or other sensitive information that needed to be obtained to be able to use the cards.
The wristwatches were the other method that was more widely used and had a lot more security involved but that came with having to reveal all kinds of information and it would be possible to have their location tracked through the wristwatches.
Some criminals had their versions that could not be tracked but they were not possible to be used in more official locations
Upon learning something so important, Ashwin transferred over all of the credits from the previous trip onto cards before they made the trip back.
Since there were some funds on the cards, Bunbun was able to go on a shopping spree and have some fun while Medea and Ashwin made preparations to visit different trading spots to see where they could get some good prices for what they brought with them.
