Chapter 15: The Story of Typhon – (4)
Mount Olympus, the divine palace above the lofty clouds.
Typhon, who had been lounging and savoring his victory, found it strange that Cadmus had not returned.
He must have promised to grant the goddess in exchange for playing the lyre by his side.
Could he have run away?
There wouldn’t be any human who would refuse the reward of embracing a goddess.
It might be Zeus’s scheme.
After pondering for a moment, Typhon was about to call his subordinate monster, Delphyne, to find the insolent human.
If it weren’t for the numerous divine powers approaching from afar.
“Are those small fries coming to challenge me again?”
No matter how many gods who had fled gathered…
“Typhon! I have returned!”
Zeus, holding Astraphe, stood atop the dark clouds?
The tendons were clearly severed… That damned human!
As Typhon hurriedly rose, black clouds gathered above his head, unleashing a fierce lightning bolt.
Flash- Boom!
“Argh!”
It hurt.
It hurt so much.
It felt like his whole body was burning.
A lightning bolt that should have ended with just a stinging pain hurt this much.
Typhon gritted his teeth at the power of Zeus’s lightning strike.
It definitely wasn’t this bad when he ambushed Olympus.
Because of those damned strange fruits given by the Moirai!
“I won’t be careless now. Let’s see who truly deserves the title of the king of the gods!”
The destructive blue lightning in Zeus’s hands, having regained his stolen tendons, flashed powerfully, showcasing his strength.
With a thunderous roar from his mouth, Zeus fired Astraphe once more.
“Argh!”
Typhon didn’t stand idle either.
He was the god of storms, unleashing fierce winds that seemed to topple even high mountains and scorching everything around him.
Zeus’s lightning was painful, but it wasn’t enough to kill the weakened Typhon in one blow.
A giant hand, wrapped in a whirlwind, stretched fiercely towards Zeus.
If he could just crush the king of the gods…
‘If I can subdue Zeus, the others are nothing.’
As Typhon thought this, a sweet voice reached his ears.
“Hey, look over here for a moment?”
A small, faint voice from the ground.
But an irresistibly enchanting voice distracted Typhon and drew his gaze downward.
A beautifully adorned woman, Aphrodite, smiled brightly and made eye contact with Typhon.
The hand that was stretching out lost its momentum due to the enchantment of the goddess of beauty.
“Zeus! It doesn’t matter if Mount Olympus gets a little damaged!”
“Move, Poseidon, instead of talking!”
“Then I won’t hold back!”
The blue-haired god raised his trident high and thrust it towards the ground with all his might.
As the power of Trident, the masterpiece of the Cyclops brothers, manifested, the earth shook violently, and the entire mountain trembled.
“Earth, shake. Reveal your inner flesh to me.”
With a cold voice, Demeter touched the ground.
An earthquake assisted by Demeter, the goddess of the earth.
The ground split randomly, making it difficult for Typhon to move and disrupting his balance.
Following this, Hestia’s power warmly enveloped the gods, and fierce flames surged from Hephaestus’s hammer, burning everything.
The gods’ battle caused a storm that blew trees like dust and cracked the ground.
Mount Olympus gradually lost its shape.
* * *
Some distance away from Mount Olympus, the city of humans faced a great disaster.
Flash- Boom!
Thunder continuously roared from the sky, and the ground shook violently.
Buildings collapsed, and storms raged as people cried out to the gods.
“Aaaah! Zeus, what have we done wrong?”
“This earthquake must be the punishment of Poseidon! Did you offer the tribute to the sea on time?”
“Save us!”
Rumble-
People desperately fled the city, but some prayed at the temples of the gods, hoping their prayers would be heard and the gods’ anger would be appeased.
Boom!
Once again, thunder and storm raged, causing buildings to collapse.
“This… This is strange. The gods wouldn’t punish us like this!”
The priest of Demeter, residing in the city, clearly sensed something was wrong.
The disasters that had occurred so far included thunder, lightning, torrential rain, earthquakes, and violent winds.
No single god possessed such power.
Even so, it would only take the power of one god to destroy this city.
“Could it be that the gods are fighting?”
Mortals soon realized.
This was just the aftermath of a fight, like crumbs falling while eating bread or splinters flying while mining metal.
The true disaster was occurring on Mount Olympus.
* * *
“Hahahaha! War! It’s war!”
Red divine power erupted from Ares’s entire body like a storm.
The divine horses of his chariot snorted fiercely as they ran through the air.
The god of war laughed maniacally, driving his chariot forward.
His target was the monster’s face, and it didn’t matter if his attack didn’t cause any wounds.
Unlike last time, when he only smelled defeat, now he felt the melody of victory was near.
“You… you vermin!”
Typhon, who had been mercilessly attacked by the gods’ combined efforts, raged and swung his arms wildly,
Once again leaving horrific marks of destruction on the world.
Ares’s charging chariot was destroyed, and he was flung out, crashing into the mountain.
“Ares!”
Even the leisurely floating clouds were scattered, and the stars in the sky climbed higher in fear of Typhon.
The horses of Helios’s sun chariot were startled and fled higher into the sky.
In the gradually darkening sky, Zeus’s lightning and Hephaestus’s fire brightly illuminated the world.
Boom!
“Argh!”
Another blue thunderbolt struck Typhon’s body, causing smoke to rise and delivering excruciating pain.
As Typhon screamed in agony, glowing arrows pierced his eyes one after another.
“I’ll aim for the right eye. You take the left eye!”
“The next prey is a big one, brother.”
Apollo, the god of the sun, and Artemis, the goddess of the moon.
The twin gods, children of Zeus and Leto, who possessed the divine powers of archery, never missed their targets.
Their arrows never missed.
Following this, the blacksmith god’s intense flames enveloped Typhon’s body, and the heavily armed goddess of wisdom struck the monster’s ankle.
The combined attacks of the Olympian gods continued, but…
“If it weren’t for those Moirai’s tricks, I would have defeated you already!”
The monster was still standing.
Although the Olympian gods clearly had the upper hand, Typhon was Gaia’s ultimate weapon.
Though he was exhausted and wounded, he wouldn’t easily fall.
Despite the continuous battle, seeing Typhon still standing, the sea god decided to go all out.
If he submerged him deep in the sea, no matter how immortal the monster…
“Damn it. That monster… Wave, surge…”
“Poseidon! If you summon the waves, all the humans on land will die!”
Hestia hurriedly stopped Poseidon, who was about to summon a massive tsunami to defeat Typhon.
The Olympian gods clearly had the upper hand, so there was no need to sacrifice the lives on land to win.
“No, then how long do we…”
“Just wait a little longer, something will happen!”
Athena shouted as she dodged Typhon’s kicks, but Poseidon sighed in frustration.
Typhon, too, was immortal like the gods. With his ability to control the raging winds, he likely had the divine power of storms.
Although the Fates had weakened Typhon through trickery, the only ones who could inflict significant damage on him were Zeus and Poseidon.
Only the wounds caused by the powerful attacks of the three primary gods would not instantly regenerate and heal due to his tremendous vitality.
“Hahaha! Except for you two, the rest are just vermin… Ugh!”
At that moment, a pitch-black, ominous slash flew towards Typhon, who had been mocking and deflecting Hera’s attack.
Though Typhon quickly raised his arm to block, divine blood, ichor, flowed from his body.
The golden liquid spilled onto the ground, marking the wounds of the storm god.
This level of power… It was not as strong as Zeus, but similar to being directly hit by Poseidon’s trident.
Typhon turned his head to look in the direction of the slash.
From a distance, a figure approached, exuding a cold killing intent.
A dark-haired god holding a giant scythe and wearing an old, shabby helmet.
“…Hades!”
“My uncle has succeeded. Now that monster is finished.”
That scythe was the one Typhon had stolen from Zeus and secretly hidden, the Scythe!
The ultimate weapon made of adamantine was a threat even to Typhon.
“One of the three primary gods who rule the world, the king of the underworld, Hades, has passed judgment. Listen carefully, monster.”
The god with a gloomy demeanor continued as he lifted his helmet above his head.
“You will be imprisoned in Tartarus for eternity.”
As the king of the underworld completely donned his helmet,
Even Typhon, who could spot Hermes, the fastest in Olympus, lost sight of him completely.
