Legacy of the Void Fleet

Chapter 4: Ch-4 The Obliterator-Class Star Dreadnought-3

Kallus sat back in his chair, trying to absorb the sheer magnitude of these changes.

"There is more," Red Empress said, her tone softening. "The Supreme Being recognized that even someone of your talents cannot control all these systems alone. Thus, the original AI of this ship has been upgraded into a Sentinel AI, a hyper-intelligent system capable of managing every facet of the Obliterator. And as a fragment of creation itself, I, Red Empress, have been integrated into this AI to guide and assist you."

She stepped closer, her holographic eyes locking onto his. "My role goes beyond merely managing the ship. I will allocate missions to you—tasks that will test your strategic acumen, leadership, and resolve. For each mission you complete, you will earn Creation Points. These points are a currency unlike any other, allowing you to access the System Store."

Kallus's interest was piqued. "System Store?" he asked, his voice steady despite his rising excitement.

Red Empress nodded. "Yes, Master. The store is a repository of knowledge and materials from countless universes. With Creation Points, you can purchase blueprints, advanced technologies, rare resources, or even enhancements for yourself and the ship. However," she added with a note of caution, "the items available will be limited to what you have earned the right to access. Knowledge and materials are your keys to advancement, and the store will expand as you prove yourself."

Kallus leaned forward, his mind racing. A system that rewarded him with limitless potential—a treasure trove of knowledge and materials, combined with a ship that was already a galactic treasure? The possibilities were endless.

And yes there's one more "Master Kallus," she said, her tone both reverent and instructional, "one of the most significant upgrades lies within the ship's propulsion system. The original antimatter engines, while impressive by conventional standards, have been replaced by Dark Matter Light Speed Engines. These engines operate on principles beyond standard physics, harnessing the enigmatic properties of dark matter to achieve speeds that far surpass those of any known propulsion system."

She gestured toward a holographic schematic of the ship, which materialized in the air beside her. The aft section of the Obliterator lit up, showcasing its new propulsion systems.

"The ship is now equipped with four Super Thrusters, each capable of generating incredible thrust, enabling rapid acceleration even for a vessel of this size. These thrusters are finely tuned for high-speed interstellar travel and can adapt dynamically to gravitational fields, ensuring efficient maneuvering even in hostile environments."

Her hand moved to highlight additional components on the schematic. "In addition to the Super Thrusters, the Obliterator is fitted with six Large Thrusters, strategically placed to provide unparalleled control and stability. These thrusters ensure precise maneuvering during complex operations, such as docking, combat maneuvers, or navigating asteroid fields. Combined, these engines allow the ship to achieve light-speed travel, with seamless transitions between sub-light and faster-than-light velocities."

Kallus's mind raced at the possibilities. A ship this size, moving at such speeds, with that level of control? It was almost unthinkable.

Red Empress continued, her expression calm but proud. "This new propulsion system ensures that the Obliterator is not merely a fortress but a fleet's spearhead. It can outpace enemies, pursue targets across vast distances, or retreat from overwhelming threats if necessary. The engines are also integrated with the Transcendent Dark Matter Engine, ensuring they have a nearly infinite energy supply."

Kallus nodded, his thoughts turning to the strategic advantages this upgrade offered. "So, this ship isn't just about overwhelming firepower. It's mobility, speed, and versatility, all wrapped in one."

"Exactly," Red Empress confirmed, her holographic eyes gleaming. "With these systems, the Obliterator is not just a ship; it is a mobile empire. Master Kallus, the universe is vast, and the opportunities are limitless. Together, we will chart a course to greatness."

Kallus leaned back in his command chair, letting the enormity of the upgrades sink in. His dream ship had become something beyond even his wildest imagination—a true testament to the Supreme Being's vision. He clenched his fists, determination welling up within him.

Red Empress smiled. "Master, your journey begins now. This ship is your tool, your weapon, and your sanctuary. The missions I assign will challenge you, but they will also shape you into someone worthy of the Supreme Being's gaze."

Kallus exhaled slowly, the weight of the moment settling over him. "I don't know why the Supreme Being chose me," he admitted, "but I won't waste this opportunity. If this is my fate, then I'll carve a legend so grand that no one—not even a Supreme Being—can ignore it."

Red Empress bowed slightly. "Then let us begin, Master Kallus. The universe awaits."

He turned back to the viewport, his excitement tempered by the enormity of the task ahead. The Obliterator was everything he had dreamed of and more. But now that it was real, the question wasn't just how to use it—it was how to make it truly legendary in a universe he barely understood.

Kallus nodded, her words resonating with him. The Obliterator was an unparalleled weapon, but he knew that strategy, leadership, and vision would be just as crucial in the battles to come.

Kallus leaned back in his command chair, a grin spreading across his face. "Then let's start this bad boy, Red Empress."

The Red Empress smiled—a genuine, radiant expression. "Yes, Master Kallus. Activating all systems."

A low, resonant hum filled the command center as the ship's Transcendent Dark Matter Power Generator roared to life. Lights flickered on, illuminating the sleek and futuristic interiors of the Obliterator-Class Star Dreadnought. A cascade of energy surged through the ship's systems, bringing everything online:

Life support systems ensured a habitable environment across the colossal vessel.

The Dark Matter Light Speed Engines powered up, their energy signatures stabilizing.

The FTL Drive and Warp Engines hummed with readiness, capable of propelling the ship to unimaginable speeds.

Weapon systems, from the capital-class turbolasers to the devastating antimatter missiles, primed themselves, ready for deployment.

Deflector shields shimmered briefly as they activated, providing unparalleled protection.

Advanced radar and sensor arrays came online, scanning the surrounding space with precision.
