Major General, a Male Zerg has been found on the battlefield!!

“Please remove your mask, sir. I believe you’re the man who once broke into the starship,” He Qin’s strong memory enabled him to recognize the man’s identity the moment he spoke.

However, today, the companion with him wasn’t the ambiguous gender individual from before.

He Qin held the egg to ensure its safety, while Rhys positioned himself in front of him.

The man calmly pressed a button on his belt, and suddenly, a faint yet piercing alarm filled the nursery. It was headache-inducing.

He Qin covered his ears with his fingers. The man then removed his mask, revealing a face marked with numerous small scars.

“Hahaha, well, I won’t live to see another day anyway. Let’s die together.”

The man laughed almost maniacally, his laughter tinged with collapse and despair.

Suddenly, a red light erupted from his body, and He Qin felt a sharp pain in his back.

Was this man insane? Did he choose to self-destruct to protect someone behind him?

That was He Qin’s initial reaction.

Was he tackled to the ground by Rhys?

That was his second reaction.

“Cough, Male Lord, are you alright?” Rhys once again chose to shield the male zerg, bearing the brunt of the massive damage himself.

Everything that happened left the male zerf bewildered.

“First, tell me you’re okay.” He Qin placed the egg on the ground, quickly stood up, and frantically checked Rhys’s safety, moving his hands over Rhys’s back.

Fortunately, Rhys didn’t have a scratch on him.

“I had Jack install blast-proof systems in every room. I was concerned that an explosion in one room might affect others. Never thought it’d come in handy at a time like this.”

Of course, this instinctive device could only contain the explosion, encasing the explosive item or person within a hard, transparent material that sealed off the room, preventing harm to the homeowners or the rest of the house.

It turned out to be another effective damage control measure.

Rhys comforted and patted the male zerg, sensing his regret and helplessness at the moment of the explosion.

The Male Zerg must have been terrified.

“Male Lord, if you keep holding me like this, Little Guai will start laughing at you.”

Critical hit.

Upon hearing this, the male zerg immediately released his arms from around him and gave a fierce glance at the Little Leopard, who was wagging its tail nearby.

Rhys held the egg close to his chest and activated the blast-proof device.

The smell of blood and the dust from the explosion filled the air.

He Qin instinctively took a few steps back, while Rhys remained calm, simply taking off his coat and covering the egg with it.

“Male Lord, please stay outside the door for now. The crime scene needs to be secured. I’ll notify the security team responsible for Area A immediately.”

He Qin stood outside the door, craning his neck to see the condition of the room. The walls were undamaged thanks to the special material protection, but the soft wooden furniture he had chosen specifically for the child was all shattered into pieces.

Looks like he’ll need to take the time to purchase another set. This time, he’ll only need to buy items suitable for the male’s baby.

Another big expense. He Qin silently counted the balance in his small treasury, feeling his heart ache.

He probably didn’t know yet how much wealth he was about to inherit.

“I’m deeply sorry, Major General Rhys. Such a heinous home invasion and murder occurred in my jurisdiction.” The captain of the security team, once a member of the Starry Night Legion, nervously apologized repeatedly to his former superior.

Upon receiving the detailed account from Major General Rhys, his heart nearly leapt out of his chest.

Ignoring the major’s identity for now, after today’s bloodline return ceremony, everyone knew how distinguished the major general’s male lord was.

Why hadn’t they seen His Highness He Qin? Was he injured?

Unable to find the male zerg at the gruesome crime scene, the captain speculated anxiously.

“They’re not from our race. How did these outsiders infiltrate the Empire? And how did they evade the defenses of Area A? I expect you, as captain, to provide me with a satisfactory answer to these questions.”

With the calmest demeanor, speaking the most terrifying words, making the other party nod repeatedly—that’s the ability of an Imperial Major General.

“Don’t worry, tonight’s loss will be borne by the entire security team of Area A. I will immediately report this situation to His Excellency the Chief. You and His Highness Green will receive a response as soon as possible.”

The usually influential and arbitrary captain of Area A’s security team now felt a sense of being reprimanded by superiors, reminiscent of his early days in the military.

After a few more instructions, Rhys handed over the scene to the female guards of the security team. They carried measuring cups, collecting blood splatters from the furniture and floor, and used explosion detection devices to check if there were any undiscovered items.

“Male Lord, what are you thinking?” Rhys asked softly, nestling closer into the male’s embrace.

Tonight’s events had left Rhys somewhat weary, not to mention the male zerg, who had undergone a tedious ceremony earlier in the day. But the male zerg lay on the bed without sleeping, staring at the ceiling, lost in thought.

“I’m just wondering who wanted to kill the egg. Did you notice the man’s final words? ‘Anyway, he wouldn’t have survived going back’—it indicates his owner is extremely ruthless, possibly even deranged. We have only seen such unpredictable males like Qi Lun around us, but does Qi Lun have such inscrutable thoughts?”

“While Qi Lun acts outlandishly and arrogantly, given his intelligence, it’s unlikely he would conceive such things and execute them so flawlessly.”

“I agree.”

He Qin had encountered Qi Lun a few times. Despite his eccentric behavior, He Qin could sense an air of ‘not too clever’ about him.

The mastermind behind this could not be Qi Lun.

“Male Lord, it’s late. You should rest.”

This time, Rhys took on the responsibility of coaxing the ‘child’ to sleep again, humming a lullaby he had learned from Earthlings.

Half-asleep, He Qin wanted to tell Rhys that he was singing a Russian lullaby and he couldn’t understand the lyrics at all.

The next day, He Qin was awakened by the sound of something brittle cracking.

Both he and Rhys woke abruptly from their slumber, their movements too sudden, even pulling each other’s hair.

He Qin cried out in pain and looked towards the incubator bed on the left side of the bed.

Inside the makeshift incubator, the mattress was littered with cracked red-striped eggshells. A small bundle, entirely snow-white, was lying on the glass cover, its large black eyes blinking around, seeing its beloved male father looking at him.

The little one grinned broadly and pushed even harder against the glass cover.

On the glass cover, the tiny figure’s features were squeezed together, saliva and sticky fluid from the eggshell almost staining the mattress.

“Wasn’t this just two weeks ago? How did he break out of its shell so quickly?”

He Qin got out of bed, opened the incubator’s glass cover, and wrapped the newborn in a long-sleeved shirt to protect its delicate state.

When a Zerg cub first encounters the world in the form of an egg, it is very fragile and tiny. However, after two to four weeks of nutrient supplementation, the cub will grow hair, teeth, and even wings, becoming stronger.

However, all this development applies to gifted female Zerg cub. The true birth of male Zerg cub tends to occur later than females.

He Qin thought to himself that his little cub seemed different.

“Ah… Ah…” The cub kept babbling incessantly.

The little one was strong; he seemed to know that the one holding him was his blood relative, waving his right hand happily.

His small fist clenched tightly and struck He Qin’s nose. “Ah!” He Qin cried out in pain.

This little devil was indeed different. At first sight of his male father, he delivered a fierce punch, and crucially, He Qin saw a mocking glint in his eyes.

Is this child perhaps too clever?

“Male Lord, please hand the cub over to me. Newly hatched cub need to replenish their energy with milkfruit.”

He Qin’s mouth twitched, resisting the urge to throw the child away, and handed the little troublemaker to the female Zerg.

While capable of reproduction, female Zerg lacked lactation capabilities.

On the Zerg planet, milkfruit—a sweet, milky substance with a flowing core—is the ideal food for newborn cubs.

With his arms appropriately relaxed, Rhys embraced the soft, squishy cub. The chubby little hands of the cub clung to a green fruit larger than his face.

Milky fluid stuck around the cub’s small mouth, complementing its chubby cheeks.

This was the prototype of a little angel!

He Qin could even see feathered wings behind the larva.

At that moment—

“Snap.” The little one threw away the nearly drained green fruit, and the remnants of the juice flew towards the male Zerg.

“His face, and his hair—now he’ll have to take another bath!” He Qin felt extremely exasperated.

“You little rascal.” Seeing the bright smile on the little one’s face, He Qin chuckled, bursting into laughter.

From now on, he would strive even harder, feeling a newfound sense of responsibility as a father.

“Majesty, have you thought of a name for the cub?”

Naming is the most important event for a Zerg cub since birth. The name’s meaning signifies whether the family head acknowledges it.

After Rhys was born, he didn’t promptly receive a name. Later, due to government officials urging for information entry, he barely got a name from his drunken male father’s mouth, and wasn’t even allowed to have a surname.

“Milo Hill. It’s the name of a hero from Earth, symbolizing kindness, bravery, and an outstanding soldier.” Only Rhys and his close companions called him by He Qin; other Zerg referred to him as Green Hill.

He had officially returned to the Hill family. Naturally, the cub’s surname had to be the royal surname—Hill. In a few days, the little one would participate in a royal baptism ceremony.

“Rhys, do you still not have a surname?” He Qin suddenly remembered that Rhys had never had a surname.

“Yes, Carl doesn’t quite like me. He once told Qi Lun that he was worried that adding me and the female father to the family tree would affect the fortune of the Qi family.” The female Zerg wasn’t as calm as he appeared.

Qi Lun was never qualified to be the cub’s male Zerg parent. He Qin had heard about Rhys’s tragic childhood and the unfortunate post-marital life with his female father. He never imagined that Qi Lun could utter such cruel and terrifying words when the child was so young.

“Rhys, would you like to join the Hill family tree?” He Qin approached the female Zerg, gently embracing him as he held the little cub. “Rhys Hill, I look forward to working with you in the future.”

The female Zerg froze.

Several seconds later, Rhys bent over, burying his head in the male Zerg’s chest, and squeezed out a dry “Yes” from his throat.

He Qin could feel the drops of water continuously falling on his chest. Without saying a word, he quietly maintained the posture of embracing his loved ones, bearing the release of the female Zerg’s emotions.

As an imperial hero relied upon by the people and the military, he could only release long-hidden pressures in front of his loved ones.
