Marrying a Disabled General and be His Wife

Chapter 6

“You are so brave.”

Even though he said this, Feng Chilie didn’t mean to be angry at all. He casually drank his wine.

This was the first time someone talked with him without stuttering or weak legs. He thought of Ji Bei and Jiang Che, who had extraordinary status among the Wolf Eagle Cavalry.

But they were still very timid in front of him, which made him mad just looking at them. They all really thought he was a savage beast that could eat people.

But it was true that he could kill people.

Feng Chilie saw that Tan Chuyan was blushing fiercely and said, “I didn’t expect the fifth prince to be so courageous but has a small drinking capacity.”

“who said that? I could drink more than a thousand glasses.” Tan Chuyan smiled at him, “General, do you want to give it a try?”

Feng Chilie filled up his cup and Tan Chuyan’s, “Then, let’s give it a try.”

After three rounds of wine and five plates of foods. No matter how good Tan Chuyan’s capacity, he was unable to drink another cup and surrendered with both hands up, “General, you really have good stomach for drinking. I am sorry I was the loser, please spare me. Have some mercy on me.”

Feng Chilie looked at him. The person in front of him was laying on the table and muttering softly like a cat. He looked weak everywhere.

But he knew, this man’s claws were sharp enough, otherwise, how could he be so bold and dared to run away from him?

He really didn’t know who gave this person his courage.

Tan Chuyan looked at Feng Chilie with half-closed eyes, he felt drunk and smiled with his red lips, “I can’t be tougher than you. The victory will be determined by a sword but I will clap my hands for you.”

“What do you mean? You are really powerful.” Feng Chilie stared at him, “You made full use of this marriage, you gained freedom but you also angered me. I have never lost to anyone for these ten years but you make me lost face in front of everyone. You really capable to make people hate you and wanted to kill you. You really deserved to be killed.”

“The general hates me so much, why didn’t you take an action?” Tan Chuyan raised his neck and picked up Feng Chilie’s hands to wrap it around his neck.

He looked at the man with an amused face, “If the general doesn’t kill me today, then it must be wrong. You don’t hate me at all.”

Feng Chilie’s rough fingers rubbed the delicate skin of Tan Chuyan’s neck. As long as he pinched it, this person would die.

Tan Chuyan knew that he wouldn’t kill him. The man just caressed his neck gently.

If others saw it, they probably couldn’t see the hint of intimacy between them. After all, the sight of general holding someone’s neck must only lead into one thing, death.

“I didn’t say that I hate you.” Feng Chilie said, “Why do you need to bring hatred to yourself.”

Tan Chuyan raised his neck, his thin eyelashes dropped slightly covering his eyes. There was flickering shadows on his cheeks.

He replied, “Aren’t there already many people who hate me? Another one wouldn’t much, even one less didn’t make any change.”

Feng Chilie didn’t know what Tan Chuyan had been through for the last eighteen years, this child was still young but already said negative things.

He touched Tan Chuyan’s delicate white skin and traced his fingers along the neck, he pulled the young man forward.

Feng Chilie licked his teeth, he didn’t want to continue talking about hatred, “I really like your appearance. It would be a pity to just peel your skin…” Feng Chilie smiled confidently, “Sooner you will step inside my general’s mansion willingly and become my canary. You couldn’t fly around again and only had me to watch you all day long.”

“General,” Tan Chuyan patted his warm face, “You need to stop drinking. Look at you, talking nonsense.”

“No. I never tell nonsense.” Feng Chilie let go of his hand and took away Tan Chuyan’s cloak, “We have all the time. This will be the evidence of our meeting.”

Tan Chuyan waved his hand, “No. It’s better to not seeing you again. I don’t want to be tricked by you, general.”

Feng Chilie laughed heartily and shouted for the people outside.

Ji Bei came in and pushed the man out.

Tan Chuyan laid on the table and watched the man left. He waved his hands with dropping eyes, “Go slowly. I won’t see you off.”

After leaving An-xiang House. Ji Bei and the coachman joined forces to help Feng Chilie onto the carriage.

Once done, Ji Bei sat leaning on the door. He felt a little puzzled. Didn’t the general come to deal with Tan Chuyan? Why did he leave after a good talking?

“General,” Ji Bei asked cautiously, “Are we going back just like this?”

“Then, what do you want?” Feng Chilie folded his clothes, “Do you want to go back with a head in my hand?”

Although this was what he thought but he didn’t dare to say it. Ji Bei felt that the general was a little different, so he quickly changed his way, “The subordinate is talking too much. The general must have his own decision.”

Feng Chilie closed his eyes to rest.

.

As the carriage arrived in the General’s Mansion, Feng Chilie suddenly asked, “Ji Bei, do you know why cats are so interesting?”

Ji Bei had never raised a cat, he only owned wolfdogs. He shook his head, “I don’t know.”

Feng Chilie’s fingers tapped the armrest of his wheelchair, his eyes looked into the distance and said softly, “A cat naturally is fun to tease.”

“?”

Ji Bei was confused, why did this talk involve a cat all of sudden. Besides, the general didn’t even have a cat!

.

.

“That Feng Chilie had gone too far. He actually treats you like a cat, your highness!” Tianbao’s cheeks bulged in anger and his fists flew in the air,

“Next time I meet him. I will give him a punch then hit him with uppercut and beat up his pig head.”

Tianbao was so cute that Tan Chuyan laughed at him, “You can do it next time. As long as your legs don’t shake, I will pray for you.”

“Your highness!” Tianbao called with a sad face, “Don’t mention it again. It’s so embarrassing.”

Tan Chuyan patted his arm, “Okay, I know you are embarrassed.”

The comforting wasn’t working, Tianbao screamed and ran out.

He would never talk to the prince again, he liked to bullies him!

As soon as Tianbao ran out, Tan Chuyan’s face changed. He turned to Xiao Yutang who was standing next to him, “Is the matter with uncle Yan done?”

“It’s done. If young master is willing. He could build the bridge between you and the eldest princess.” Xiao Yitang frowned, “But, young master has you thought about it. Do you want to be an official or not?”

Tan Chuyan didn’t hesitate, “I have thought about it. Now that I have already bury my relationship with Qi Kingdom. It’s time to fulfill the promise I made to my teacher.”

“Then, I will obey the young master’s order!”

Xiao Yutang knelt down and looked up at the young man in front of him. He was only eighteen years old; it wasn’t a bad idea to enter the official career. If only he was twenty years old, that would be perfect.

But the young master already decided and he, as the subordinate, could only follow the order and assisted the young master with all his strength.

“Uncle Xiao, please go down. I’m tired and want to sleep.”

“Yes.”

Tan Chuyan dismissed Xiao Yutang and took off his clothes to sleep.

He closed his eyes and rolled up himself with the blanket. This way, he could feel warm and safe.

Soon, Tan Chuyan fell asleep and dreamed about his teacher, Tan Hongchen.

Tan Hongchen was also his imperial uncle. Ever since, he accidentally met Tan Hongchen from the palace when he was seven years old. The two had formed an indissoluble bond.

Tan Hongchen taught him everything and designated him as the heir to An-xiang and Linghan Pavilion. These two were secretly created by Tan Hongchen before he was imprisoned.

They had spread all over the world and became the largest intelligence organization in the Great Yong. Luckily, these two were working separately, even if something happened to one of them. They could continue to operate.

Therefore, the power of these two pavilions were very important. If Tan Hongchen was gone, Tan Chuyan could take over it easily.

The days spent with Tan Hongchen were the happiest life for Tan Chuyan in the palace.

However, Tan Hongchen left too early. When he was fifteen years old, Tan Hongchen suddenly fell ill and couldn’t get out of the bed for half a month.

Three days later, Tan Hongchen showed no signs of improvement. Instead, he was breathing less and breathing out more often.

That night, Tan Chuyan knelt and cried in front of his bed. Tan Hongchen held his hand tightly.

Tan Hongchen’s eyes contained complicated emotions; there was reluctance, heartache and indescribable feelings. It seemed that all emotions in the world were integrated into them but the most powerful one was reluctance.

“Yan’er.” Tan Hongchen called his name with a hoarse voice, “I am afraid I will die. Let me tell you something.”

“Teacher, tell me. I will definitely help you.” Tan Chuyan held his hands powerfully, “I will work hard. Please, can you… can you not leave me.”

Tan Hongchen coughed twice and said in a weak voice, “One day when you leave Qi Kingdom, go to Jing Kingdom to assist Yi Ming and help him redefine the world.”

“Why is it Jing Kingdom? What about Zhao Kingdom or Great Yong’s royal family?”

Tan Chuyan knew that Tan Hongchen were ambitious person but he had been tied to the Qi Kingdom for his whole life. He couldn’t escape this place.

But he was different, he was still young and one day, he might be able to break the shackles on his body and fly out of this prison.

Tan Hongchen took his last breath and explained to him, “It can only be Jing Kingdom. Qi Kingdom had no good leader since your father’s generation. Your two brothers only compete for power but no one is as tolerant like you. As for Zhao Kingdom, it’s absolutely impossible. This snake will end up eating you until no bones left. The Great Yong’s royal family,”

Tan Hongchen sighed heavily, “This family had long been ruined. The members and eunuchs are fighting for power and the emperor is a puppet on the throne. What can they do?”

Tan Hongchen turned to touched Tan Chuyan’s head, “Remember, Jing Kingdom is the only choice. It is my hope to re-established the world. Go, but you must go there.”

“Okay, Yan’er will listen to you. When I leave Qi Kingdom one day, I will go to Jing Kingdom.” Tan Chuyan nodded heavily with a choked voice, “But, teacher why can’t you stay? Come and go with Yan’er. You promised me, you will give me glorious ceremony.”

“I’m sorry, Yan’er.” Tan Hongchen rubbed his head, “Teacher… has broken his own promise.”

Tan Chuyan cried, “No… you can’t…”

Tan Hongchen looked at him with a pain, he weakly lifted his hands and stroked Tan Chuyan’s hair down and said his last words, “Yan’er, remember, you must find a wise king who is willing to believe you and assist you. That way, you could sit on a high platform and enjoy the spring breeze in the future.”

“Teacher!!!”

Thinking about the past, Tan Chuyan seemed to dried his tears that night.

Even though he had known for a long time that human life had its own destiny. But, to see the people who treated him well in this world die just like that, his heart was in so much pain he couldn’t breathe.

Without Tan Hongchen’s protection and compassion, that beautiful boy was never smiled innocently again.
