Martial Peak: Eternal Void Great Emperor

Chapter 4: An Eventful Day

Yang Kai tried to pull him in and take the knife out simultaneously to attack him but much to his surprise, it was like pulling a huge boulder which doesn't budge a single inch.

Liu Feiyang didn't miss this opportunity and pulled him in instead, disarming him in the process.

In one fluid motion, Yang's arm was pinned behind him, Feiyang's forearm looping around his neck. The chokehold was precise—firm enough to control, not enough to crush.

"Please believe me, Senior Brother," Feiyang pleaded, his voice steady but urgent. "I mean no harm. Let this matter go."

"Is this how you make people believe you, huh? And why the fuck are you so strong?" Yang Kai struggled with all high might, breathing was becoming more and more difficult for him.

Feiyang's mind raced. 'Fuck, I don't even know how long I can hold him like this. If I release too soon he will attack me, but If I wait too long, he might die'

Damn it, how long can I hold him? If I release too soon, he'll attack again, but if I wait too long, he might die

"Senior Brother Yang, you have problems cultivating right. I can cure you. I swear on my martial dao, I will cure within a year. I am not kidding this time and you know it too." Liu Feiyang was cursing himself for not being able to think anything else in the current situation and only swearing on his martial dao again and again.

Yang kai gave up struggling, "Fine, I will listen to what you have to say."

Both of them sat down peacefully as both of them needed to calm down and ask a lot of questions from Liu Feiyang.

To answer his own question, he closed his eyes and inspected his body. His bones reformed and his skeleton has completely changed with now it being the Unyielding Golden Skeleton, and his meridians have surprisingly expanded too.

Opening the system, he was greeted with a few notification.

[The host has acquired Special Physique Unyielding Golden Skeleton.]

[Unyielding Golden Skeleton: It integrates itself into the host's body, elevates his meridian network and talent. The skeleton greatly augments the physique and supplements the user's own unyielding qualities. It contains and stores a strong Yin Qi.]

Meanwhile Yang Kai was regretting his decision watching Liu Feiyang moving his hand around in the air like an idiot but there was nothing he could do right now, the person in front was clearly stronger than him even with an inferior cultivation base.

"Are you done flailing around like an idiot?" Yang Kai snapped, irritation evident.

Feiyang knew he couldn't explain his actions so ignored the remark and continued to scroll through the notifications.

[The strength of Host's Spiritual foundation has increased slightly.]

'Huh, How did that happen?' Feiyang made a mental note to investigate later. The list of notifications finally ended, and he turned his attention back to Yang Kai.

"Let me begin, I did say that I will cure you but I can't do it right now and as you know it will be more detrimental for me if I can't find a solution. So leave it to me, you can ask me any other questions if you want to."

Yang Kai's gaze sharpened. "How did you know there was something wrong with my body which hindered my cultivation?"

Feiyang hesitated for a beat before answering. "I didn't. I just said whatever I came into my mouth to get out of that situation or else you could have died if you remained in that state for even a bit longer even if you didn't, I didn't want to cause you any severe brain damage."

Yang Kai was shocked to hear his reason and didn't entirely believe him. He suspected that Feiyang might be someone indebted to his father that was why he was willing to go so but his age and cultivation is too low for that to be possible.

"Are you really telling me the truth?" Yang Kai pressed.

"Yes, Senior Brother. Why would I lie?" Liu Feiyang replied with a straight face. He was already tired of everything here and just wanted to go home after such an eventful day.

Yang Kai started to feel very guilty of his behavior. The martial dao oath Feiyang had sworn weighed heavily on him and he wanted to allow him to revoke the oath but he knew too well it wasn't possible.

'How many more people must suffer because of my powerlessness? I couldn't help my father, mother or my sister and now this boy has sacrificed his future for me' His expression slowly turned from that of disbelief and guilt to one with despair.

Despair clouded Yang Kai's face, and Feiyang noticed. 'It's me who's future is looking bleak right now so why does he look like this? Does he think that my future is already gone? He's the Yang Kai I've read about - a person who could to any lengths for his loved ones, showed his emotions when necessary and pay back his enemies 10 fold. But despair? That doesn't suit him.'

Without thinking, Feiyang leaned forward and hugged Yang Kai. The gesture startled him, and he was about to resist when Feiyang said.

"Senior Brother, I don't know what burdens you carry," Feiyang said softly, "but you don't need to worry about me. I might not look like some bigshot but I am telling you I will become the strongest in just 2 years and curing you within a year is much easier than you think, I just need a little time, that's all." He tried to ease the worries of him.

Yang Kai's tension eased, and he found himself unexpectedly moved, 'Maybe... just maybe, I've met a good man in this cruel world.'

But it also reminded him that he doesn't have luxury to despair. It fueled his determination to become stronger even more knowing he now had one more responsibility to save this person or he will truly regret it for the rest of his life.

'Isn't his body unusually soft for a man? Does demonic yin qi also causes such side effects?'

Feiyang released him after half a minute, not wanting to make it weird between two guys and stood up to leave.

"Have a good night, Senior Brother," he said, bowing respectfully in martial courtesy.

Yang Kai returned the nod. "Good night."

Finally back in his room, Feiyang felt the exhaustion of the day. The only thing his body wanted right was to get a good rest but he knew better.

His fellow disciples were all asleep so he willed for the black book to appear, and interestingly enough a black book slowly manifested in his hand.

'It feels much more exciting when doing it in real life instead of seeing in manhua panels.'

Disappear, reappear, disappear.... he tested it many times and many different positions and it worked all the time as long as it was near him.

Liu Feiyang done with his little experiment, opened the book. Golden lines appeared on the first pages as he read through them he discovered a secret art.

[The host has acquired the Proud Golden Body: Tempered Body Record.]

[Tempered Body Record: It contains the methods to cultivate a Tempered Body with the Golden Skeleton as a base]

But night had fallen so it couldn't be practiced for now, Liu Feiyang continued to turn the pages. An incense burner, appeared, but he lacked the required materials.

[Congratulations, The host has acquired Antique Incense Burner.]

[Antique Incense Burner - When incense burns, slowing cultivation speed but tempering the body's ability to cultivate faster when not in the incense smoke. It can also be used to concoct pills.]

'It can even be used as an alchemy furnace, I don't remember that from the manhua but it's good anyway'

Satisfied with his progress, Liu Feiyang went to sleep, eager for what the next day would bring.

To some, this story might feel like it is heavily inspired by another of one of the Martial Peak fanfic and yes it is true. I have the author's permission to take as many things I like from his work so there is no need to worry.
