Chapter 19: 18. Death God
Since Jerry had decided his first target to be Baron Wolfgang Von Strucker, he needed to plan out his movement.
He was a person Jerry knew who conducted human experimentation and was successful.
What kind of experimentations he conducted in this reality, Jerry was yet to find.
'Are Wanda and Pietro already there...?' He wondered out loud, "Wait a minute... since this world has both X-Men and Avengers then, is Pietro with Wanda or X-Men...?"
Jerry looked at the archives on X-Men again, and read the files related to the Apocalypse event once again.
There were too few details to confirm if the speedster was with them or not, even though the general flow of the event was similar to what he already knew...
'I'll proceed with the assumption that he's with Wanda,' Jerry speculated, making his way to the ship's command center.
Over the next few hours, he diligently gathered information on Strucker's hidden base of operations. Baron's secret Hydra base was concealed deep within Sokovia, resembling the one depicted in Avengers: Age Of Ultron, albeit slightly less developed.
It was expected, the events of Age Of Ultron would transpire about two years later. The weaponry that pressured the Avengers was still in the prototype phase and reserved for the elite division.
That was the extent of information he could get from his ship.
Apparently, Hydra had better secretiveness than even fucking S.H.I.E.L.D.
Well, that was to be expected, they needed to hide from both the public eye and S.H.I.E.L.D. as well, of course, their secrecy would be better.
But it shouldn't be hard to annihilate the base and hoard everything there, considering most things were at their initial phase.
And although Jerry was sure that he'd be able to handle this whole operation on his own. He still readied a battalion of his own. Unlike the MCU (Earth-199999), this universe presented uncertainties he wasn't willing to overlook.
For this particular mission, he decided to take the Chitauri with him, and not the Outriders.
The Outriders were beastly, ferocious, and instinctive, ideal for annihilating the base but unsuitable for a stealth-focused operation.
Once done with his preparations, Jerry took off in the stealth ship that he had assembled a couple of days ago.
This ship had a length of 200m and 80m width. It was mostly black, with a long sleek, and aerodynamic hood. There were six engine tubes at the rear and it was laced with destructive turrets, cannons, and other weapons that were installed in strategic places.
The ship's standout feature was its state-of-the-art stealth technology, speed, and agility. It was made to escape from most situations. The jump cooldown on this ship was minimal and covered enormous distances at a time.
In no time, the ship transitioned from Mars to Earth's upper atmosphere.

As Jerry's ship hovered above Hydra's castle base, he scanned if Hydra had installed that energy shield around the structure yet.
'No signs of it yet.'
Parking the ship on the outskirts of Strucker's base, he rallied his assembled soldiers behind him as he floated forward, leading the way.
Organizing three teams, each with specific tasks, Jerry executed his plan. The first team, the largest, was tasked with clearing out Hydra soldiers and securing the perimeter.
The second team would replicate this inside the base, while the third team would provide support and protection to him.
The Chitauris donned black armor, concealing their faces behind visors. Jerry, too, wore a similar visor to mask his alien features, while his customary black outfit adorned his body.
The cover of the night ensured their attire blended seamlessly with the surroundings.
Infiltrating the base was easy enough as using his wrist terminal he had disabled all the alarm trigger systems. Getting inside the security systems on Earth was too easy for him with the help of the technology, most advanced in the universe.
As Jerry made his way through the base with a dozen Chitauri soldiers behind him, he didn't find any Hydra men for a while, until suddenly he found many of them.
It was the canteen.
After a long day of work, the Hydra men were... peacefully having their dinner.
They had finished their day duty just a couple of hours ago and after getting fresh and bathing off their sweat, they were ready to have their fill, when suddenly a dozen men donned in black armor and black visor hiding their faces casually strolled into their sacred place.
"Fuck! What are you all waiting for? KILL THEM!!!" An athletic Hydra soldier hollered, throwing his plate.
Promptly, the Chitauri behind Jerry unleashed plasma gunfire, setting off a chain reaction of chaos. Hydra soldiers ducked under tables and returned fire, albeit ineffectively.
Yet, unprepared and outmatched they could only do much and all of them died one after the other.
However, by now everyone at the base was aware of their intrusion. The soldiers outside had also begun their assault. Panicked, the Hydra goons strained to fight back.
As the area cleared, Jerry moved to continue his exploration of the base to clear out the enemies and head to the control room to kill the boss, Strucker.
After a while, he checked the terminal to see the progress of other teams. They were also doing well but the casualties of the team outside the base were a bit higher than the rest.
'I guess, that the elite division was positioned there, huh.' Thinking so, Jerry ordered reinforcements for them through his terminal.

"Who are the assailants? Get that information as soon as possible!" Baron ordered one of his subordinates as he watched the stream of battle outside.
"Sir, we are already on it but the enemy proves to be too difficult. They are not even leaving a dead body behind, not even of our soldiers. I suppose they have dedicated a specific unit to take away the fallen."
"It's as if they think of themselves as..."
"That's the more reason, we really need to find out who they are..." Baron grimaced.
'It can't be S.H.I.E.L.D. as then I would've been already informed by the spies there. Not Avengers and X-Men as well, it's not their style...'
"How did they suddenly overwhelm us!"
"Sir, by the time we realized they were here, it was too late. We are cornered everywhere, the perimeter is blocked, and they're already inside the base.."
'Fuck, at the moment we seem to be losing.'
Strucker sighed, walked to Doctor List, and whispered, "Delete the data on everything. I need to evacuate with the twins and the kid, you prepare to leave as well, our men will buy some time,"
The middle-aged man looked at him a bit shocked but quickly gathered his composure, "But are you sure it's okay to take the twins? Are they even stable right now?"
Baron shook his head, "Their powers flares out randomly, especially the girl's, but at least mentally they are stable enough. But their lives are too important, they are our greatest breakthrough and the path to create more."
Doctor List nodded, then scurried away, anxiety leaking in his face.
Strucker turned to his subordinates to motivate them, "The intruders think of themselves as Grim Reapers, the death gods--"
Jerry's interruption was unexpected. "Death Gods, hm? I find that intriguing..."
Strucker's eyes widened at that, 'Fuck it! They're here! And is that List's body?'
