Chapter 5: Chapter 3 First Stage Appearance_1

Let those who create problems come up with solutions, no, let the problem solve itself without leaving any loose ends. Captain, that was a masterful move.

Gao Guang had no idea who the Captain and his team really were, nor did he know their limits, but the fact that he was still alive meant that they had some boundaries.

Nevertheless, Gao Guang remained tense, because what the Captain had said made sense; only dead men tell no tales. So even though he had sworn his loyalty, whether the Captain would accept him was still up in the air.

The Captain put away his phone, nodded at Gao Guang, and said in a deep voice, "You've passed."

Gao Guang felt an immense sense of relief, then involuntarily took a long breath.

"Thank you, thank you all, I really appreciate it."

Other than thanking them, Gao Guang didn't know what else to say, but the Captain spoke very sternly, "Don't call the police. This is Mexico; don't stay. You don't know who will show up first, the cops or the drug dealers. Understand?"

Gao Guang paused, then quickly replied, "Understood, I'll leave right away."

The Captain looked outside. Once he saw Rubber and Joey loading Wild Bull's body into the car, he said to Gao Guang, "Good luck, goodbye."

The Captain didn't shoot Gao Guang in the head; instead, he left quite decisively.

Gao Guang watched the Captain jog to the yard and pull open a car door. At that moment, Bottle Cap, standing guard at the yard gate, suddenly raised a hand in a stop gesture.

Normally, Bottle Cap would wait for the second car to pass by and then leave, but his sudden stop gesture confused Gao Guang.

The Captain and his men all had wireless communication systems and noise-canceling earpieces, which meant Gao Guang couldn't overhear anything, so he couldn't figure out what was happening.

The Captain, who had just gotten into the car, pushed the door open and got out again, followed by Rubber. The first thing the two men did after exiting the car was to dash toward the two bodies lying in the courtyard.

The Captain and Rubber each grabbed a body and hurried towards a dark corner of the yard.

Something had definitely gone wrong; otherwise, the Captain and his men wouldn't have bothered to return to deal with the kidnappers' corpses.

Joey also got out of the car at the front, cursing as he opened the rear door, yanking at the hostage he had just put inside.

The hostage clung to the car door, unwilling to get out, and began to scream in panic.

Though Joey looked thin and small, he was quite strong. After pulling the terrified hostage out of the car, he turned to Gao Guang and urgently said, "Help me translate. Tell this idiot that drug dealers are coming, and we're not trying to abandon him!"

This hostage wasn't too bright, clearly panicked, and needed someone to calm him. Gao Guang, who spoke Spanish, was the only choice.

Gao Guang, gripping his handgun, ran over. He got to Joey's side and wrapped an arm around the hostage's neck from behind, saying urgently, "Hand him over to me. I'll keep him quiet."

"Don't let him make noise, don't let him run off, take him inside, find a way to shut him up."

After hastily dumping a daunting task on Gao Guang, Joey let go of the hostage. To prevent the hostage from escaping, Gao Guang tightened his grip with his left arm and whispered, "I'll keep him quiet."

"I need to get out of here. Oh God, save me. We can't stay here. Run! Run..."

The hostage yelled even louder. Gao Guang, tasked with keeping him silent, immediately tightened his grip with his left arm, and in Spanish, told the hostage, "Stop shouting! What's your name?"

"My name is Arturo Rios Lopez Cordova. Let me go! I don't want to be here..."

Gao Guang didn't really want to know the hostage's name; he was simply trying to distract him with the question. But even knowing Arturo's full name didn't divert his attention.

Arturo had lost his rationality and was struggling fiercely. Gao Guang couldn't control him with one hand, so he had to press the handgun against Arturo's face and said harshly, "Drug dealers are coming, stop screaming, you...shut up! Or I'll kill you!"

But Gao Guang's threat didn't quiet Arturo; it made him cry and yell even more hysterically.

"I'd rather die than fall into their hands. Let me go, let me go..."

No one knew the psychological trauma Sanchez had inflicted on the poor Arturo, but such clamor was only going to cause major trouble.

There could be no more delay. Gao Guang took a step back, swung his arm, and struck the hostage's head hard with the butt of his gun.

With a dull thud, Arturo immediately collapsed.

The way Arturo hit the ground so cleanly startled Gao Guang, who had never struck someone on the back of the head before. Such actions could be lethal, so he was quite worried he might have accidentally killed Arturo.

If Gao Guang had killed the hostage that the Captain and his team had gone to great lengths to rescue, it would have been a disaster. Looking at Joey nervously, Joey said nothing but gave him a thumbs up.
