Chapter 43: Breaking Bones
Gloom's POV.
Needing to get information I made my way to Inazuma, knowing that there was one person who would be most likely to have been subject to information leak, "Miss Gloom, are you oka-" A Cicin Mage was asking, but I snapped my head at him making him flinch slightly, "...I'm fine..." I reassured as I turned back to look at the approaching archipelago.
"...You know Lady Shimmer will just heal like you always do, right?" The mage asked sounding confused, "Don't get me wrong, I'm not angry because Shimmer wqas 'shot dead', I'm angry because someone dared to try..." I snarled that last part out, causing some smoke to come out of my mouth.
When we stopped at the dock I jumped down and began walking towards the Narukami Shrine, "Hopefully this won't be too difficult..." I muttere, already feeling a hedache coming, knowinghow obnoxious the fox could be, but then out of nowhere my passage was blocked by crossed spears.
Looking at the two guards that blocked my way I frowned, "What?" I questioned feeling my irritation going up, "The Shogun has ordered that if you showed up we needed to make sure you wouldn't do anything rash." One of them explained making me more irritated.
"I should have figured the Hydro Archon would have told the others." I thought in annoyance before shoving the guards away and started walking again, only to then get stabbed in the back to the front by them, "I still can't believe this is how you 'hold back an elemental'..." A guard commented, clearly freaked out by the fact I seemed to be perfectly fine, pierced torso aside.
Turning my head around I glared at the two with all of my fury which made them take a step back, but still holding the spears, "You just want to need a cast don't you?" I growled out as I snapped the tips of the spears and walked forward to remove them from my body, "We may be out of our field here..." One muttered before I punched him in the face, making his jaw audibly crack.
The noise made the other guard actively move out of the way, but I wasted no time in grabbing his face and slamming his head into the ground, making a crater the shape of his head, "That should teach-" I started, but got interrupted by a thunder striking on top of me and it got me pinned down, "I should have figured you wouldn't go down without a fight..." I heard the all too familiar voice of the Shogun.
"And I should have figured you'd show up at this point." I responded incredibly annoyed by this, "Look, Focalors explained what happened, and I get it, trust me, but also trust me when I say that I figured the hard way that doing stuff like this is a bad idea." She pointed out, applying more pressure to keep me down.
Hearing that made me sigh, "I know your story." I commented as I sneakily let out my tentacles, "I know you know this is a bad idea." In a flash I made my tentacles wrap around her and pulled her off, "But pissing me off? I heard that's a worse idea..." I said as I looked at her in the eyes.
Hours Later.
Shimmer's POV.
After getting some information from whatever source we could find, me and Arlecchino arrived at the shores of Inazuma where we immediately spotted the smoke, "Oh Gloom..." The Harbringer muttered with a facepalm, "Gloom did this?" I asked as I began running toward the center of town where I saw Kokomi using her vision to heal people.
"It'll be okay, it's just broken bones, no deadly injury." I heard hear reassure the one she was healing, "I just arrived what happened." I questioned the fish princess, catching her attention, "Well, your girlfriend came in a frenzy." She informed before looking back at the one she was healing, "We know that much, what did she look for?" Arlecchino asked as she walked beside me, "The shrine maiden." Kokomi responded, clearl a little busy.
Making our way to the shrine, we paused when we saw Yae Miko taking care of a heavily injured Ei, "...Are you yuri? I asked suddenly making Arlecchino, Miko and Ei turn to me with 'what the fuck' faces, "...I suppose you want to know about..." Miko dragged on to move on from the awkwardness, "Yes." Arlecchino confirmed, wanting to move on too, "She asked about Remnant, that place is in real danger, she defeat Ei here in just a few minutes." Miko explained taking me off guard a bit.
"You should hurry, she did this to Inazuma because I tried to hold her down." Ei informed, making me realize that this wasn't the worst Gloom could do, "You think Venti could listen to the wind and find her?" I asked Arlecchino who nodded before saying "That's our best bet right now."
