MHA: A Kings Legacy (BNHA x AOT)

Chapter 49: 49: Awaited beginning/manifestation

[Location: Aiden's bedroom,]

[Time: 0200 hours]

The moon cast its soft glow through the window, its light falling over Aiden's motionless figure as he lay in his bed. His chest rose and fell steadily, his face peaceful in deep slumber.

Nimbus, his chinchilla companion, nestled on a small pillow near his feet, his tiny ears twitching in rhythm to Aiden's quiet breathing. The room was still, the air calm—until it wasn't.

A faint hum, almost imperceptible at first, began to emanate from Aiden's body. His fingers twitched involuntarily, followed by his legs, then his entire frame. The air around him rippled, distorting slightly like heat waves on a summer road.

Then, without warning, yellow lightning arched violently from his fingertips, crackling and dancing like wild serpents in the air. Nimbus jolted awake, his tiny black eyes wide with fear.

Aiden remained oblivious, completely unconscious, even as his body continued to surge with uncontrollable energy. Steam began to pour from his pores, wafting into the air in thick, hot plumes.

His skin glistened under the moonlight, drenched in an almost supernatural sweat. The once-pleasant room temperature skyrocketed, the air growing hotter with every passing second.

His eyes snapped open abruptly, though he remained in a dream-like state. They glowed unnaturally—one a piercing blue, the other a radiant gold, each glowing orb pulsating with barely contained power. A low, guttural growl escaped his throat, his teeth clenching involuntarily.

A fresh wave of steam poured from his mouth, hissing like a boiling kettle.

Nimbus squeaked in panic, darting off the bed and skittering across the room. The small creature looked back once, his fur puffed up in alarm, before bolting through the slightly ajar door.

His destination was clear—Elara. If anyone could understand what was happening to Aiden, it was her.

Meanwhile, back in the bedroom

The energy around Aiden grew more volatile, the yellow lightning intensifying and cracking across the room like miniature thunderbolts. The walls groaned under the strain of the heat, the paint beginning to bubble and blister.

The air itself seemed to warp, shimmering unnaturally as though reality were bending under the immense pressure of Aiden's quirk.

Suddenly, the floor beneath him twisted, the planks writhing as though alive. The room began to shift and reshape itself, the space expanding and contracting in rapid succession.

The corners of the room bent upwards, defying the laws of physics, creating a kaleidoscope of impossible angles. It was as though the mirror dimension(from Marvel) had seeped into reality.

The objects in the room—his desk, chair, and wardrobe—floated into the air, spinning slowly as if caught in an invisible vortex. A picture frame of Aiden and his friends hovered in front of his glowing eyes before shattering into fragments.

The shards of glass didn't fall to the ground but instead hung suspended, glinting in the twisted light.

The embers in the air grew more prominent, flaring like tiny, restless fireflies. The sheets on his bed caught fire, the flames licking at his skin but leaving him untouched.

His body radiated an overwhelming heat, the temperature soaring to a point where the very atmosphere felt suffocating.

Inside Aiden's Mind

Unbeknownst to the chaos erupting in the waking world, Aiden's subconscious was trapped in a vivid and surreal dreamscape. He stood in an endless void, his feet hovering above a glowing golden surface that rippled like liquid light.

Around him, blue and yellow lightning crackled in violent arcs, each one tearing through the fabric of the dream.

In the distance, a towering figure loomed. It was indistinct, its form cloaked in shadow, but its presence was suffocating. Aiden instinctively took a step back, his heart pounding as the figure's voice boomed through the void.

"Do you feel it, child of royalty? The burden of power? The weight of destiny?"

The voice was deep, resonant, and filled with authority. Aiden opened his mouth to respond but found he couldn't speak. His voice was lost, swallowed by the overwhelming force surrounding him.

"Your power is awakening," the voice continued, its tone both commanding and ominous. "It will consume you if you let it. Will you rise above it, or will it destroy you as it did others before you?"

Aiden tried to shout, to demand answers, but the void began to collapse in on itself. The figure vanished, replaced by blinding light, and Aiden felt himself falling—falling endlessly into the unknown.

Back in the Real World

Elara rushed down the hallway, Nimbus clinging desperately to her shoulder. The chinchilla squeaked in distress, tugging at her hair with tiny paws as though urging her to move faster.

Elara's expression was a mix of concern and determination. She could feel the heat radiating from Aiden's room even before she reached it, the oppressive energy making the air heavy.

As she approached the door, she hesitated. The sight before her was nothing short of terrifying. The entire room was a swirling maelstrom of chaos, with objects floating and twisting in impossible ways.

Flames licked at the walls, yet they did not spread. Lightning crackled across the ceiling, creating bursts of light that illuminated the distorted space.

"Aiden!" she called out, her voice barely audible over the cacophony of energy.

Aiden did not respond. His glowing eyes remained fixed on some unseen point, his body trembling as more steam poured from him. His power was fighting to take over, a force of nature that refused to be controlled.

Elara steeled herself and stepped into the room, the heat nearly unbearable. Nimbus leapt from her shoulder, scurrying to a corner where the chaos was less intense. Elara approached Aiden cautiously, shielding her face from the embers and sparks flying through the air.

"Aiden, wake up!" she shouted, grabbing his shoulders.

The moment her hands made contact, a surge of energy erupted from him, sending her stumbling back. She barely managed to stay on her feet, her heart pounding as she realised the extent of his power.

"This is bad," she muttered to herself. "Really bad."

Elara reached for her communicator, activating an emergency signal. "Seraphine, Kaela, Miss Celeste! I need help in Aiden's room—now!"

Within moments, the door burst open, and Seraphine and Kaela stormed in. Both women froze momentarily, their eyes widening at the surreal scene before them. Immediately behind them was Celeste, concern etched onto her face.

"What the hell is going on?" Celeste exclaimed, her usually cheerful demeanour replaced with alarm.

"His quirk," Elara explained hurriedly. "It's gone out of control. I think he's still dreaming, but his power—it's overwhelming."

Kaela's eyes narrowed as she surveyed the room, her tactical mind already working. "We need to stabilise him before he brings down the entire manor. Elara, any idea how to reach him?"

"I tried waking him, but—"

A sudden surge of energy interrupted her, a bolt of lightning striking dangerously close to Seraphine. The captain of the guard reacted instinctively, raising a shield to deflect the attack.

"We don't have much time," Kaela said, her voice firm. "If this continues, he could destroy himself along with everything around him."

Inside Aiden's Mind Once More

The void had transformed into a raging storm, the golden surface now churning violently beneath Aiden's feet. He struggled to stay upright, his body battered by relentless winds and lightning. The figure from before reappeared, this time closer, its features slightly more distinct.

"You cannot fight it alone," the voice said, echoing through the storm. "Accept it, or be consumed by it."

Aiden clenched his fists, determination flickering in his glowing eyes. "I... won't let it control me!"

The figure extended a hand, its palm radiating light. "Then prove it."

-

In the real world, Elara, Seraphine, Celeste and Kaela worked together to contain the chaos. Elara focused on shielding herself and the others from the heat and lightning, while Seraphine and Kaela attempted to reach Aiden.

"Aiden, if you can hear me, fight it!" Kaela shouted, her voice cutting through the cacophony. "You're stronger than this!"

As if in response, the room began to stabilise slightly, the swirling vortex slowing. Aiden's glowing eyes flickered, and for a brief moment, he seemed to regain some awareness.

Inside his mind, Aiden reached out, grasping the figure's hand. The storm around him subsided, the golden surface calming into a still, reflective pool. The figure nodded, its shadowy form dissolving into light.

Back in the real world, Aiden's body relaxed, the lightning and heat dissipating. His glowing eyes dimmed, and his breathing steadied. The room fell silent, the air heavy with the aftermath of the chaos.

Elara, Seraphine, Celeste and Kaela exchanged relieved glances as Aiden slumped forward, unconscious but at peace. Nimbus cautiously emerged from his corner, squeaking softly as he climbed onto the bed to check on his owner.

As the trio worked to cleanup the destruction, Elara couldn't shake the feeling that this was only the beginning of something far greater—and far more dangerous.
