Chapter 181: Chapter 179:- Rei Became A Mother Again
After Momo and Maki left for their agencies, the house settled into a calm, quiet rhythm. Izuku, Fuyumi, Kaina, and Eri enjoyed a leisurely morning, basking in the warmth of each other's company.
As the sun climbed higher, Fuyumi suggested, "How about we have a nice bath, Eri? You, me, and Kaina. It'll be fun!"
Eri's eyes lit up, and she nodded eagerly. "Okay! I like baths."
They gathered some fluffy towels and headed to the bathroom. The bathroom was soon filled with the gentle sound of water splashing into the tub, mingled with the soothing scent of lavender bath salts.
Fuyumi and Kaina helped Eri undress, ensuring she was comfortable.
"Eri, do you like bubble baths?" Fuyumi asked as she turned on the tap, allowing the bubbles to rise.
Eri's eyes widened in delight as the bubbles formed. "Yes! They're so much fun!" she giggled, reaching out to touch the growing foam.
Once the tub was ready, Eri climbed in with some help, followed by Fuyumi and Kaina. The warm water enveloped them, creating a cocoon of comfort. Fuyumi playfully blew some bubbles towards Eri, who laughed and clapped her hands.
Kaina leaned back, enjoying the serenity. "This is nice," she said softly, smiling as she watched Eri splash around. "It's good to relax and take care of ourselves."
Fuyumi nodded, her gaze tender as she watched Eri. "I agree. It's moments like these that remind us how important it is to just be here for each other."
Eri giggled, splashing water with her hands. "This is the best bath ever!"
They spent the next while soaking in the warmth, chatting, and sharing stories. It was a moment of pure, unfiltered joy and connection, a gentle respite from the outside world.
After their bath, Fuyumi dried off and changed into comfortable clothes. She kissed Eri on the forehead and said, "I'll be right back, sweetie. I'm going to get some of my things from home. I'll be back soon, okay?"
Eri nodded, her eyes shining with trust. "Okay, big sister Fuyumi. Come back soon then we'll play lots of games!" said Eri waving her hand.
Fuyumi smiled and waved back as she headed out the door. The walk to her family's home was filled with anticipation. She felt a deep sense of contentment knowing she was building a new life with Izuku and her new sisters, so much so that she forgot about her family completely.
When she arrived, her mother, Rei, was waiting for her. Rei's eyes lit up when she saw Fuyumi, and they embraced warmly.
"Fuyumi, you came, I thought after spending a night with Izuku, you wouldn't be coming home today," Rei said, her voice soft with a playful teasing smile.
"Mom, don't tease me please," Fuyumi replied, holding her mother close, her face totally red from embarrassment.
Rei pulled back slightly, her gaze filled with curiosity. "Okay Okay, I won't tease you anymore. You mentioned something about Eri. Can you tell me more about her?"
Fuyumi took a deep breath, her expression turning serious. "Mom, Eri is a little girl who's been through so much. She was in an awful situation…" said Fuyumi as she started telling Rei what Eri had gone through.
Rei's eyes were filled with tears listening to the things Eri had gone through till now, "Poor child, to think she had to go through so much when she's just 6. Take me to her, I want to meet her, Fuyumi. Let me grab a few things, and I'll come with you right now."
Fuyumi nodded, relieved. "Yes, Mom, I'll grab my things till then we'll go."
They quickly gathered Fuyumi's belongings, packing them into a couple of bags. Rei's heart was full of love and care that she wanted to shower Eri with, as they made their way back to Izuku's home.
When they arrived, Eri was sitting on the living room floor, playing with a set of colorful building blocks. She looked up as Fuyumi and Rei entered, her eyes curious and a little cautious.
Fuyumi knelt beside Eri, her voice gentle. "Eri, this is my mom. Her name is Rei. I told her all about you, and she really wanted to meet you."
Rei's eyes filled with tears as she looked at Eri, her heart aching with empathy for the little girl. She moved closer and knelt, opening her arms. "Eri, sweetheart, can I give you a hug?"
Eri hesitated for a moment, looking up at Fuyumi for reassurance. Fuyumi nodded, her smile warm and encouraging. "It's okay, Eri. My mom is very kind. You can trust her."
With a small, tentative smile, Eri moved into Rei's open arms. As soon as she was enveloped in the warm embrace, a sense of safety washed over her. Rei held her tightly, her tears falling freely as she whispered, "I'm so glad to meet you, Eri. You're such a brave girl."
Eri, feeling the genuine care in Rei's hug, relaxed completely. "It's nice to meet you too," she said, her voice soft and filled with wonder.
Fuyumi watched with tears in her eyes, her heart swelling with love and pride. "Eri, you can call her 'Mom' if you'd like. She'd love that."
Rei nodded, her smile broadening. "Yes, Eri. You can call me 'Mom.' I'd love that."
Eri looked up at Rei, her eyes bright with newfound hope. "Mom," she said, the word feeling both strange and wonderfully right on her lips.
Rei's heart melted at the sound. She hugged Eri even tighter, her voice trembling with emotion. "Yes, sweetheart. I'm your Mom from now. And I'll always be here for you, no matter what."
Eri also felt a sense of security as she closed her eyes and enjoyed the hug Rei was giving her.
Izuku watched from the doorway, his heart brimming with happiness. Seeing Eri, who had been through so much, finally finding the love and care she deserved was more than he could have hoped for.
He approached the group, his smile radiant, and placed his hand on Rei's shoulder. "Thank you, Rei, for being here for Eri. It means a lot to all of us."
Fuyumi and Rei were stunned for a minute; the smile Izuku displayed was the smile he used to have before the events of last year.
Before he gained his quirk she decided to commit suicide.
Fuyumi felt a wave of nostalgia, her heart warmed, a giddy feeling in her stomach as a tear fell from her eye, and she simply hugged Izuku saying, "I thought I would never be able to see this smile of yours again."
Rei also felt a strange warmth in her body, as she realized just how contagious his smile was, and totally understood why her daughter was so worried for him, or why she wanted to go to any length for Izuku, as she thought, 'So this is the smile she wanted to protect,' as her face softened into a warm smile.
Rei looked up at Izuku, her eyes filled with gratitude. "Thank you for saving her from her misery and taking such good care of her, Izuku. She's a precious girl, and I'm glad she has a family that loves her so much."
Eri snuggled deeper into Rei's embrace, feeling a sense of belonging she had never known before. The room was filled with a quiet, profound joy, a testament to the power of love and kindness.
Rei decided to completely act like a mother, as she saw her Fuyumi in Eri, and now playing with Eri she thought she went back in time, when Fuyumi was the age of Eri.
As she started recounting the things Fuyumi did when she was little, which caused giggles from Eri, teasing from Izuku, and a complete load of embarrassment for Fuyumi.
The fact that she was seated on Izuku's lap just made it worse, as Izuku kept on teasing her, and Fuyumi couldn't run away from Izuku no matter how hard she tried, increasing her embarrassment even more.
Seeing Fuyumi sitting on Izuku's lap and this embarrassed with no escape caused Rei to tease her daughter even more, as she recounted more and more instances.
The whole afternoon was filled with embarrassment for Fuyumi, who decided to simply clutch Izuku tightly and bury her face in his chest.
As the evening settled in, they gathered for dinner, the air filled with laughter and conversation. Eri sat on Rei's lap, a smile on her face that seemed to light up the entire room, while Fuyumi and Izuku prepared dinner for them.
By this time Kaina had also returned.
Ever since Kaina was declared a fugitive, those who helped her had to either live in hiding or were killed.
So she couldn't visit their graves or meet them; she had to apologize to them for all the trouble they had to go through for her.
Now, as a free person, she decided to pay a visit to them. Luckily, only 2-3 of the people who helped her were killed; the rest were safe.
Kaina went to their graves, apologized for getting them killed for her, and also thanked them for everything they did. She said, "Thank you for everything you have done for me, even losing your life for me. I promise to protect your family, and make sure they don't lack in anything until they are capable enough to stand on their own."
Using the chip, she talked with Izuku, who would teleport her to wherever she wanted to go.
This made her trip end really fast, as well as giving her enough time to sit with them and talk to them.
Eri still couldn't believe this wasn't a dream but a reality. She looked around at the faces of her new family, her heart swelling with happiness and gratitude.
As she sat on Rei's lap for dinner, who acted just like a mother, feeding her, and taking care of her, made her feel like she really was her mother.
Since Eri is just 6, and with the trauma she had gone through, getting disintegrated and then reintegrated, she eventually forgot the face of her real mother.
The only thing she remembered was a blank face kicking her out of the house. Eri asked, "Mom, are you not going to stay with us?
