Chapter 702 - 702: 702
Chapter 702: 702
Upon hearing Clarissa Johnson’s words, Ethan Smith quickly turned around.
“Where is she?” Ethan’s voice held a trace of urgency.
Clarissa smiled faintly, “This doesn’t seem like a place for conversation, does it?”
Ethan frowned but, despite his impatience, did lead Clarissa to a café.
After ordering two cups of coffee, Ethan immediately asked, “Can you tell me now?”
Clarissa took a sip of her coffee, then said in a deep voice, “According to our information, Miss Taylor is still in the Capital City Martial Arts Association.”
“Impossible,” Ethan shook his head.
“I’ve been to the Capital City Martial Arts Association, and I used my divine sense to look for Emily, but I did not see her,” Ethan stated firmly.
Clarissa was not in a hurry. She smiled and said, “Mr. Smith, have you considered that the Capital City Martial Arts Association might contain a small world or Mystic Realm?”
“A small world?” Ethan was startled.
For Ethan, this was a completely new concept, something he had never heard of before.
Clarissa explained, “Yes, it’s believed that a mighty realm cultivator can create a small world of their own, also known as Mystic Realm.”
“Human history is long and vast, so naturally, there’re many such Mystic Realms in the world.”
“And let me tell you, the real resources are stored within these Mystic Realms!”
“This secret cannot be kept any longer, officials have been dispatched to investigate this matter.”
Ethan widened his eyes in surprise.
This completely overturned Ethan’s understanding of things.
Before this, Ethan had never even considered this possibility because it seemed too unbelievable!
“Are you messing with me?” Ethan squinted his eyes.
“What you’re saying – about Mystic Realms and small worlds – is hard to believe,” he added.
Clarissa seemed to have expected Ethan’s reaction and was not surprised. She chuckled, “Don’t you believe?”
“Of course, I don’t,” Ethan responded coldly.
Clarissa spoke calmly, “All I can tell you is that the Halcroen Sect controls a Mystic Realm in the country and that’s our home base.”
Ethan’s pupils contracted sharply! He stood up and said, “Are you telling the truth?”
“If Mr. Smith doesn’t believe me, you can come with me to see it for yourself. Truth or falsity, you’ll be the judge,” Clarissa calmly suggested, swaying the cup of coffee in her hand.
Ethan’s brows furrowed even deeper.
Clarissa didn’t seem to be lying, but her words were hard to accept.
Moreover, the feud between Ethan and the Halcroen Sect wasn’t recent. Ethan was not at ease with the idea of following Clarissa so abruptly.
“Let me consider it,” Ethan finally said after much pondering.
Clarissa smiled, “Of course, Mr. Smith, we greatly value cooperation with you.”
Ethan didn’t respond to this. He just bid Clarissa goodbye and then immediately left the café.
…
Ethan had publicly humiliated Davy Barnett, even causing his tragic death in the Taoism Theory Library.
This news had long been spread throughout the world of martial arts.
Everybody was waiting to see how the Capital City Martial Arts Association would react.
Surprisingly, the Association remained inactive for a long time.
The reason was simple: Davy Barnett’s words had caused the eight senior officials to be cautious in their actions.
This, in turn, gave Ethan a moment of respite.
When night fell.
Ethan pulled out his cellphone and dialed Emerson Holmes’ number.
Upon being connected, Emerson at the other end started, “I have something to tell you.”
Ethan made an acknowledging sound, prompting him to speak.
Emerson said, “I’m now the chairman of the Capital City Martial Arts Association.”
“Congratulation then,” Ethan responded casually.
Emerson continued, “The information revealed by Davy has caught the attention of the top brass. Jagger Shah personally gave me a task to find a solution.”
Ethan laughed, “So, what’s next?”
Emerson, with a grave tone, said, “I plan to make do with the Capital City Martial Arts Academy and release a portion of the resources controlled by the Capital City Martial Arts Association.”
Mention of the Martial Arts Academy made Ethan grimace.
Emerson, apparently noticing something amiss, quickly explained, “Ethan, you can rest assured that Emily has absolutely nothing to do with the academy this time.”
“Also, the Capital City Martial Arts Association has no time nor mood to target you at the moment. They’ll probably keep a low profile for while.”
Ethan took a deep breath and replied, “Go on.”
In a serious tone, Emerson carried on, “In the past, the Capital City Martial Arts Academy had a list. On this list were sons from prestigious families, but it was not acted upon due to your interference.”
“I plan to let this group become the first batch of students, as a form of experiment. If it all goes well, we will start enrolling students publicly.”
Ethan remained silent for a moment before speaking, “Do as you wish.”
“Okay,” Emerson agreed.
Then, Emerson asked, “Did you need something from me?”
Ethan took a deep breath and asked, “Tell me, does the Capital City Martial Arts Association control a so-called Mystic Realm?”
A surprised Emerson at the other end of the call said, “How did you know?”
“So it’s true.” Ethan frowned.
“Where are those Mystic Realms?” Ethan continued to ask.
Emerson replied shaking his head, “I don’t know that either. The Mystic Realms should be scattered in different corners of the world.”
“Oh, and the Mystic Realms are also part of the resources of the Capital City Martial Arts Association.”
Upon hearing this, Ethan stated coldly over the phone, “Emerson, help me investigate if there are any Mystic Realms near your Capital City Martial Arts Association and how to open them.”
Emerson seemed shocked and asked in surprise, “Ethan, what are you trying to do?”
“No more questions, just do as I say,” Ethan instructed.
After hanging up the phone, Ethan couldn’t help but knit his brows.
What Clarissa said turned out to be true.
It seemed that the Halcroen Sect was really not to be underestimated…
For the next few days, Ethan found himself unusually free.
Ever since Davy’s death, everything seemed a lot quieter. Even the Great Families became much more discreet.
During these few days, Ethan didn’t leave Green Moon Villa.
After much contemplation, he finally took out his cellphone and dialed Clarissa’s number.
Once the phone connected, Clarissa on the other end chuckled, “Mr. Smith, have you made up your mind?”
Ethan said in a deep voice, “I want to see this supposed Mystic Realm of the Halcroen Sect.”
“Of course, you’re always welcome,” replied Clarissa in a light voice.
“Let’s meet at Gyeon City Airport tomorrow morning.”
After saying that, Clarissa promptly ended the call.
Clarissa had said that the real resources were in the Mystic Realm. What exactly was hidden there?
This aroused Ethan’s curiosity.
